Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

I kinda wish leaks like this wouldn't happen...it softens the blow of the actual reveal.
If it's the official site doing a tease is it really a leak?

Unrelated, Digital Foundry video for Burnout remaster is much more impressive than I expected. I still wish it was Revenge that was done, this franchise did not need open world.

Just squeaked by in the GTASC, 1 TA and 1 spot above the cutoff.  Popped an achievement in the Win10 Mahjong worth 12 points 5 minutes before the deadline to keep my head above water.  Was trying for a more valuable achievement in the final half hour, but ran into a puzzle I needed to undo moves to complete and would've run out of time, so switched to an easier, lower value one.

New bonus for 100 achievements in the period ... doubtful.

I'm playing through Bioshock for the first time too. I think I'm almost done. So it's much, much better that Infinite. Some of the gameplay changes they made are questionable, like limiting you to 2 weapons at a time in Infinite while retaining and even placing more emphasis on the upgrade system. The Vigors seem to have a lot less context than Plasmids do. I think Bioshock 1 controls better overall with the older Halo style it has setup, rather than grafting on the modern aim down sights layout.

I do have to say I'm impressed they have unlock framerate and a second FOV option on the ancient 360 version of the game. A filled out options menu like that is pretty refreshing. I turned of the babymode quest arrow thing and that alone makes the game feel more immersive.

I'm going to go back to Infinite when I'm done and play the DLC, I started it up before but felt like I'd enjoy it more if I was seeing the references to the first game. I'll probably pick up 2 when I find it cheap. I've been hunting more and more for BC stuff that the local game stores and finding great prices. I think I'm moving on to Prey 2006 after this.

I'm just hoping Tomb Raider holds up to the quality of the first two games, I'm excited for it but it's coming from a different team as Crystal Dynamics is working on an Avengers games.

Yeah you were almost a goner this time even though I worried too in the last hour wasn't that much further away and the TA Points were melting away quickly today while I was on work. If I didn't get that minecraft achievement yesterday evening. I would have been eliminated...

Also getting 100 Achievements unlikely...also didn't get the 3000 GS the last time..

The Birthday challenge was helping...and wll also net me a month of a TA Pro Account because I finished it in time...had donated in the past for TA Pro but since it became a subscription service, I didn't use it again...

I've seen some comments on here discussing the various Bioshocks. All three of these games are among my all time favorites. Yes, Bioshock 2 is not as good as 1 and Infinite has problems, but they are all quite a lot better and more engaging from a gameplay, story, lore, and world-building perspective than most other games out there and I would gladly take another Bioshock game over almost any other franchise I can think of.

Just had to get that off my chest. :)

got eliminated from gtasc, probably should have done a scan before the period ended and I think I would have advanced, but not like I was gonna last much longer anyway, making progress on the birthday challenge, god do I hate having to play telltale games though first back to the future and now even more wolf among us

PS II, III, AND IV? HOLY SHIT.

Edit - If you filter out all the comments about people begging for it to come to Switch, someone mentions that the music for those games is still under license.

Do we know if there will be gs? Perhaps something similar to rare replay?

I used to think collections like that were neat, but man, as I've gotten older and my time gets more and more limited for games, I'll be dammed if I'm going to play Genesis games on my XB1X or PS4 Pro lol. The mini Nintendo systems are one thing, as that's what they are designed for, but I just can't bring myself to be reminded how far along we have come in gaming.

I do appreciate nostalgia most of the time and I totally have the utmost respect to anyone that would prefer to play Altered Beast or Streets of Rage over any modern fighter.

Hope you don’t mind but I stole your list to repost over on the PSN thread as people were asking about it there as well.

Not too shabby of a list, though I would have liked Sonic 3 and Knuckles.

I don’t think the Wonder Boy games were in the last collection on 360.

I backlogged the 360 collection. Can't wait to backlog this too.

In all seriousness, am I the only one happy to see Vectorman in these collections? I remember I had a special cartridge that was running a contest where if you beat the game, you would call a phone number for a chance at a prize. My youngling brain decided to use cheat codes to beat the game, thinking "They can't be smarter than the code!" I was then presented with a lovely screen stating "Great job beating the game. Now do it without cheating." To this day, still one of the best screens I've ever seen.

I enjoy the series-centric ones more, like the Mega Man games or the Arcade Classics, because they have more focus. 50 games on a disc can be a little overwhelming. On the flipside, some of these games are cool, but would never see the light of day as a standalone release or collection.

Hope you don’t mind but I stole your list to repost over on the PSN thread as people were asking about it there as well.

I don’t think the Wonder Boy games were in the last collection on 360.
I copied it from a PSN blog post, so the circle of life continues.

They could conceivably add games via DLC. If they did it in large chunks (5-10 games at a time) and priced them well, I wouldn't be totalaly against it.

Here are the achievements for Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for 360: https://www.xboxachievements.com/game/sonics-ultimate-genesis-collection/guide/. This collection has a lot of the same games.

I'd imagine something similar where there's one achievement or so for each of the individual games, but I guess we'll see.
I kinda hope they have a huge total, like MCC having 6k, and just let folks go wild with it.

Yeah. Outside of a handful of classics, a lot of those games have never seen proper re-release. Sega may be starting with the Genesis and working their way up....

My desire to play Die Hard Arcade (or more than likely we'll get the Japanese version, "Dynamite Deka" with Bruno) demands satisfaction now, dammit! John McClaine must punch laser shooting spider robots in the face!

And Tomb Raider movie reviews seem really meh. I Can't wait for it to be on streaming somewhere when I'm really bored to see for myself now!

RPGs alone makes it worth it for me even if I never get around to playing them and finally will get Toe Jam and Earl I and II on my Xbox after having TJ&E on my Wii and PS3.

Called it! Although I don't think you need to be a prophet to call this one...

Here is hoping all those free shows and movies I've grabbed over the years port correctly if/when this happens.
None of the shows would mesh with MA, and only participating studios' movies would be eligible to mesh with MA:

Disney

Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc.

Twentieth Century Fox Film Corp.

Universal

Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.

I'm excited for the Sega collection, especially with online, and the Shining Force games are favorites of mine so replaying those will be fun as always.

Some users on Reddit are reporting that both digital licenses and disc-based games are failing to be recognized after a Game Pass sub ends for games which are on the service. The Major himself is involved:

https://www.reddit.com/r/xboxone/comments/84ebtz/my_gamepass_expired_now_i_cant_play_my_halo_5/

Seems like a limited problem or else way more people would be experiencing it with all the trials and cheap subs, but still. If games I've previously purchased stopped working, I'd be pretty upset.

I can't find my original post to quote it because search is proper fucked right now, but here's an update on my King's Quest "Installing the episodes from disc and playing them without the disc if you own the first episode digitally" question:

It doesn't work.  You need the disc to play the episodes beyond Ep. 1.

Also, I just signed up my newest console to join the Xbox Insider program.  The disclaimer said it could take up to 72 hours to receive the update, but it didn't even take 72 seconds.  Very impressed!

That would definitely be bad. Guess I'll find out next year. Unless this is MS way of keeping me subscribed for eternity lol.
