Who are these videos being shared by you for exactly? The people that already bought one, or the people that already convinced themselves not to buy one?
this is simply him justifying his decision not to buy it to all of us. why he needs this much validation to not make a $500 purchase is beyond me.. you would think he would be busy playing his PS VR2 with how great of an use of money that must have been.

Maybe he's trying hard not to get banned from here for all the trolling? Hopefully if any of the mods do look, they'll look a little deeper past the video spamming. 💡

I was talking to a coworker about the switch 2 yesterday and he has me convinced to keep it now. He’s really happy with the performance boost to switch 1 games, which was a big thing I was hoping for. He did tell me that I’m probably going to be disappointed with MKW for $50, given I won’t likely have many multiplayer sessions with it. But so long as it supports split screen play I should get at least a few sessions out of it here and there.

I’ve got a huge Switch backlog and am not sure what to move to the front of the queue

My oldest son got the itch in the last couple days to download a bunch of games to my Switch 2 and this morning sat down for about 5 hours to play. He was impressed. Everything just plays better. He played the last regular Pokemon game and the Legends game. While they may be frame rate limited, everything stayed max the entire time. I think he was most impressed that loading was pretty much instant between areas. He told me he used to have some time to stop and look at his phone while things loaded. So the change was very obvious. He already put a bunch of time in with MKW with me, but this seems like a great system simply to get to migrate to and have some future proofing.

I feel like MKW is the kind of game some people get and some don't. Sort of like the kids that go to the playground and see a swingset, jungle gym, maybe a few other things and are instantly bored. Or kids who on Easter hated egg hunts. The online is excellent... but the world exploration has it's appeal when you don't want something so serious but want to drive around and maybe try out some of the super creative p-block challenges. There are nearly 400 of those as well as a boat load of question mark blocks to find and then there are peach coins. But, it's not for everyone.. .which is most games. This is the first Mario Kart game where I actually want to play it since the DS version which came out 20 years ago.

People that are on the fence. People that think objectively and don't just buy whatever a certain company has for sale. People that like to get different opinions.

Have you played it yet?

Either way people are allowed to make up their decisions on what to buy. If you dont want to but one that is great. Trying to convince yourself you arent missing out on anything by belittling anyone who did buy one is silly.

I bought a Switch 2 so I must not be able to think objectively because I didnt listen to your opinion?

I played around with the Switch 2 yesterday. Had fun with Mario Kart World and the Gamecube games. I love how snappy the Switch 2 is compared to the older model. Switch games run smoother and load faster, Definitely a nice upgrade in my opinion. Well worth $500 to me .

The only complaint I have is I wish the transfer process had more options. I had to manually cancel the download of a bunch of games.

I know everyone on this site likes to act like they are so smart but here is a story about what an idiot I am.

I have owned all three versions of the Nintendo Switch. In order to change game carts for the original and Lite version I would stick my fingernail on the top of the flap and pull it away from the console allowing me access to the cart slot. When I got my OLED this was a huge pain in the ass to do and up until the other day when my Switch 2 showed up I never closed the flap tight so I could get it open without using a butter knife (I keep my finger nails short because I am not gross).

My Switch 2 came and I spent most of my time playing Mario Kart World (digital) and Soul Calibur II. I am ONLY 105 hours into Xenoblade Chronicles X so I finally wanted to see how that played on the Switch 2. I own this physically so I went to open the slot on the Switch 2. It is even worse than the OLED. No way is this happening again! I look around until I finally realize I am supposed to put my finger on the lower back side of the flap and push it UP and it pops right up. I pull my OLED back out to see if this is how it works on that too, it is. I assume if I read the instructions it clearly says to do it this way but hey, who has time for that. Anyways, I feel stupid.

I’m not sure I’m following your physical description here, could you restate it?

Sucks about the cart slot, opening it on the OLED is a real pain and I need to use a very thin tweezers to get it open to avoid scratching the plastic to hell with my fingernails or whatever, if they truly managed to make it worse on the Switch 2 that's honestly impressive.

At least there's less risk of dust or other harmful debris getting through!

This is what I've been playing. The rumored 60fps patch/upgrade is not live at this point, and I feel like draw distance needs to be improved quite a bit. But man the drastic improvement is the load times. My reference point is playing the WiiU version a decade ago.

Really, the no-nonsense snappiness of the console is my favorite thing about the nsw2 overall. Using it docked to an oled tv, looks great after I figured out the unhelpful calibration. Sold my joycons locally for $85 to reduce the cost of the console. Will invest into a 3rd party dpad option later once they become available.

How I was attempting to open the little rubber piece was sticking my nail more on top, front of the rubber and pushing it towards the back of the Switch flipping up back. I guess that was not correct. If I take my finger and go to the back of the Switch, at the bottom of the rubber piece underneath it and push it UP it pops the entire piece out no issue, even on my OLED which was always a pain for me.

Looking at the OLED again I think the way I was doing it before is how you are supposed to do it, but it is so tight its impossible for me so pushing it up from the back works better.

After 115 hours I finished the story. I do not have 100% for the map and I will go back to finish that up if a Switch 2 patch comes out. The pop in is awful, there have been many times where I am looking for a person to talk to and they do not pop onto the screen until I am right on top of them. So far this is my favorite game this year which is shocking to me because I almost did not even buy it.
