Most likely what happened with your adapter, is that when you turn it one, it came up, and then promptly overloaded the converter. I'm sure good enough converters are out there, but they're not likely worth your time. Check digikey.com or mouser.com to browse through some parts.

This game is good. I played it over the weekend (don't ask my how, I won't say anything other than it was legal). The single player is excellent, the controls are good, and the multiplayer is mayhem at it's best. Definately worth picking up.
