The multiplayer community for Bad Company 2 is strongest in this order:
PC
Xbox 360
PS3
(PC and 360 are often neck and neck for BC2)
I'm a PC gamer so thats all I am going to advocate here lol. You can pick up a new copy of BC2 for PC for about $15 - $17~ and not have to worry about silly VIP...

I think it's a very incredible game. The multiplayer is very fun too. Battles can be long or short, but you have the choice regardless and both can be equally challenging game lengths.

I have the 2007 version. The hard plastic palm rest is mildly textured for grip and reducing perspiration.

You either have system issues somewhere, or the disc drives have dist inside of them.
The best method I use for maintaining my disc drives is taking them apart and airdust the laser assembly. Dust gets trapped below the lens and mirror set frequently if you live in a dusty environment.

I run Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit... There is not a DOS game that I cannot play.
Dosbox is a great tool as well. Have fun. No need for a bulky machine hanging around.
The worst case scenario, just make another drive partition and install an older version of windows to it.
Try this. Download a free copy of Linux. There are many free builds to choose from (use Google)
Make sure it is a LIVE CD so that you can boot directly off a CD or DVD.
Then, pop in a disc with files on it and see if it starts to work. use an audio CD or a CD with Mp3's.

Hmm... the 360 is a bit weak compared tot he PC counterpart, but you can still run most any game out today. Some, Like Bad Company 2 you will only be able to run on Medium/high'ish settings. But other than that, use everyone's opinion. or head over to Metacritic.com for a reasonable rating on...
