Suikoden 2 was my first game in the series. In short, I love it, and was wondering if it'll be enjoyable to go back and play the first one?

What do you think was the reason for not getting into it? Characters? Graphics? Weaker story? Hmm, well I rarely ever use guard right now anyway, so if that + the animated cutscenes are the major tradeoffs then that doesn't sound like going too much backwards

They didn't release anything to fail. They just aren't willing to put the energy and effort into supporting it right now. Can't blame them after all the turmoil happening to Sony the past year with the hack, and declining business in their key markets (TV, movie, etc). Sony has nothign to gain...
