    Meet-the-parent gift?

Normally, I'd just do the bottle of wine, but since you say she isn't a drinker then a nice bouquet of flowers, or possibly some sort of live flowers, would be good. It's hard to go wrong with flowers.

Update 1/16 - So Gamestop "attempted" to deny me an exchange on a defective product.

Well, I guess the moral of the story here is, people don't know how to read and are whiny bitches who expect to get their way all the time.

Throw down the ONE game you own that you doubt *any* other CAG has!

A Rescue 911 Pinball machine. Not sure if it counts, but I'm guessing it's probably not a commonly owned game.

Good Book series (I need suggestions)

Dune - although the first is the best, I thoroughly enjoyed all of the Frank Herbert ones and even slogged through the Brian Herbert ones. Shadow & Claw / Sword & Citadel by Gene Wolfe are both great books. They are hard to explain and can be a bit dense, but they are just about the best...

Battle of the Donuts: Krispy Kreme VS. Dunkin Donuts

I don't see how there can be any question. While Dunkin Donuts are by no means the best donuts in the world, they are miles above the insanely sugary pieces of shit that Krispy Kreme turns out.

Has Your Opinion Of The Wii Changed?

Well, Metroid Prime 3 certainly takes the edge off. I hadn't really touched the Wii in quite some time before it, but honestly until Bioshock I hadn't touched my 360 either. I'm just pissed off because all of the games that should be no more than $30 all cost $50. Until half of the games drop...

Cheap Games you're tempted to buy.

I got XIII years ago for like 5 bucks at a Toys R Us clearance, and I rather enjoyed it. It sounds like David Duchovny is sleepwalking through it, but other than that I'd recommend it whole heartedly. Personally, I've thought about Chulip and Red Star. I know that those aren't like $3 games...

Short, fun PS2 games for a tight college schedule?

Katamari. Hard to just jump into at a moments notice but given that most levels don't last too long, not too hard to just pass the controller after 5 minutes.

What college are you going to this year?

Poor bastard. Lafayette is pretty much a shithole.

If you are thinking of Alister, I'd go with Alastor.

    Furniture?

QFT. My desk, shelves, and some other miscellaneous things are Ikea. My dinner table and chairs are Big Lots (for the exact table a department store was charging 3x times Big Lots price). My bed is Value City. You can find good things if you take a little time and look around.
