Is it worth jumping in, in your opinion, if you haven't kept up with the earlier Trails games? Starting with Cold Steel 1, sure, but I mean the prior series'. I'm sure nuance is ultimately missed, but it's daunting to start from square one with how many games there are and how long they each are.

Very highly - lots of fun, and lots of content. Brings some of the best parts of World into the mainline series and adds some new game changers. Can't imagine playing without wirebugs now.

Aggressively not worth it at all (IMO). For context, if it's helpful, ARPG is easily my most played genre. 2000+ hours in PoE, over 300 in Grim Dawn and Diablo 3 each, about 150 into Last Epoch (my current choice - but PC only), and probably about 100 in Torchlight 2 (which I did enjoy). And...
