    What games have I missed!?

I keep to the Vanila WASD control scheme (aka, standard FPS keyboard+mouse). I know a lot of hardcore players out there would actually load custom keybinds/macros to give them a competitive edge (Engineer Players, I'm looking at you). I haven't tried the gamepad setup, and honestly I have no...

    What games have I missed!?

If you like Turn Based Strategies, have you ever looked into the Civilization games? You cited Advance War as a favorite, so I'll also suggest the Company of Heroes series (though it isn't really Turn Based). Diablo 3 and the genre it birthed (Action RPG/Clickfest RPG), is actually a really...

Megazell's Free And Legal PC Games List!

Hey Megazell, I assumed that you meant that Realm of the Mad God is NOW on Steam, right? :) Just checking since I'm super addicted to this game, ever since I was denied a level 20 archer last night....

Computer Freezing - would really appreciate some help!

Worst case scenario: Your Logic/Motherboard might be going south, but at only 3 years old, I highly doubt it. As my old A+ cert book taught me: assume software first, hardware last. If the HDD comes out clean, do an OS wipe/re-install (this sucks, I know), and if you're still coming across this...

Mousepad Suggestions, along with Cost Saving tips?

Alright, I haven't been on these forums for a while now, but I did do some research so this shouldn't be a repost/rehash. I've been using The Ratzpad XL for 4 years now and I've noticed that not only have I 'smoothed away' a sizable section of the mat, but I've also noticed a chunk of section...

Switching to Linux: One man's personal experience

I've been itching to load Ubuntu on my laptop since they released 11.10 sometime ago. Should be a good weekend project.

    Who uses security software?

I'll be honest in saying that I'm a big fan of downloading things through the seedy under belly of the internet, for one reason or another. That being said, my current lineup of security software on my primary machine, and my impressions on them are: Mcafee Virus Scan - Got this free from my...

    Want to buy a netbook.

If you want a bit of gaming, then you need to hunt down some Netbooks with either the Nvidia ION GPU (a CPU/GPU system for low power machines), or the brand spanking new AMD Fusion Technology (same concept as the ION Tech). Both solutions are fairly new, and thus pushes your budget to the upper...

    Crysis 2 out! Sans DX11

Noted, thanks for the info. Maybe I'll bum him for the data and I'll give it a whirl. Maybe.

    Crysis 2 out! Sans DX11

You know what, I hope Crytek releases an official demo of the game just so I could really test my system. I mean, I'll still buy it no matter what and truthfully the game is still 'pretty' at medium settings (if Cysis 1 and Warhead was any indication). I just want to know how far I could push an...

That's some fucking win right there.

    Crysis 2 out! Sans DX11

A friend of mine has played the game, and has pretty similar hardware to mine (see sig). Very playable and gorgoues on High at 1400x900.

The Steam discussion topic! Joy and happiness, right here, folks.

If you're actually going to pick up this game over the PC, then I highly suggest using a game controller. The mouse/keyboard control scheme is garbage, and I held off playing this game until I got a Saitek Cyborg Rumble Pad. Made the game 10x easier to play too.

    Crysis 2 out! Sans DX11

I played the Half Life 2 leaked. Not worth the 8gb download file, and playing on an incomplete wiremesh level was only fun for the first 20mins or so. Anyways, Don't care about leaked Crysis 2 beta. I spent a long time playing the first 2 games, and this game better deliver (especially on the...

    games like final fantasy tactics?

Jagged Alliance 2? Barring that, have you looked into the d20 computer games by Bioware, namely the Baldur's Gate series? Fantasy setting with a hybrid real-time and pause-n-play battle system. Also, there is a new-ish game that came out called Grotesque Tactics, which is a game that...

    Looking for RPG recommendations

Looking at your first post, I'd say you have a pretty good collection going. Here are a few that I played recently: Titan Quest - not a bad 'Diablo Clone' The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Series: - Not really a true RPG, in a sense, but has a lot of RPG elements (open world, multiple quests, even some...

    Cheapest & Best-est gaming mouse?

My mother-in-law works as a sys-admin, and she replace her mice at work with this one when she got hired. She love this mice so badly she has a spare still in box, just in case. I love how this feels in hand, but I can never see myself gaming with one.

    Cheapest & Best-est gaming mouse?

Depends on the controller, really. I won't lie though, there are times where after playing a marathon of PC games, I needed to walk away from the mouse+keyboard just because I lost full sensation to my hands. That being said, I can't stand holding a PS2/3 controller for longer than 3 hours. I...

    Cheapest & Best-est gaming mouse?

QFT I'm still rolling (haha, bad pun) with the Limited Edition Razer Diamondback that I bought while my Freshmen year in college. It's due for an upgrade, but man I'm going to miss the awesome lightweight feel of this mouse when I do. As for mouse pads, I'm bought a Ratpadz XT a year ago, and...

upgrade the agp card or get a new cheap system?

I think the biggest problem with trying to stick with an AGP graphics card is the availability of hardware. As noted eBay is your friend here, and browsing what is available at Newegg might not be a bad choice, imho. You may be better off buying a really cheap system, but then you run OS...
