I'm playing littlebigplanet 2 and the game will not let me use the community features like online playing and level creation. Is that because it's not the 18th yet? Or do I have to unlock those features?

Or something to allow the entire screen to be viewed or text to appear larger? Because I'm planning on getting them but need to know for sure. And anything on ME2 PS3 with the small text would help too.
