I couldn't believe they even had one in stock, but if you can find it @ a CC B&M it's definitely a steal at that price especially since it's brand new :)

wow, I went and brought two games on the list to the counter, and he scanned them and got this wierd look on his face, then he typed something in and kept looking at the stickers on the games. I expected to be $4 + tax, h asked for $37. I think he overrode the sytem.
What games did you scan? You gotta be more specific, so I have a little background info. before I hit our store up tomorrow.

Nothing found at the CC in San Francisco. Looks like someone has gone through the racks or they took them off the shelves. I did see some tribe assault but they had stickers over the UPC's. Damn it got my hopes up - I was looking to get and play some of the games listed for $2 too. Chessmaster, auto modellista, batman, la pucelle, I ninja
Awesome. My CC has about 50 of those, but there is no way I was going to pay the $14.99 they were marked. /Sarcasm

Sorry you got fired (you didn't really, did you?).

Oh, and when you wrote that the co-worker put in the wrong UPC, you were indicating that Mario Party 5 is not $1.99, correct?
Yea i was indicating it MP5 is not $1.99, and i really did get fired its ok i was going to quit today anyway.
Is there a good list anywhere so I don't have to read all 20 pages of this thread?
if you change your settings to 50 posts per page, its now only 9 pages long ;)

Thanks OP!

At the Steubenville, OH CC I got two copies of Beyond Good and Evil for the 'Cube. But Whirl Tour was still $10.....
And in Robinson Township, PA, I scored a copy of Auto Modellista for PS2 and I-Ninja for the 'Cube. But Mirra BMX 2 for XBox, X-Men Next Dimension for PS2 and another title on the list came up as regular price.
In Robinson, the lady shook her head in disbelief when we said we wanted to do $2 price checks. Then she rang up Auto Modellista...... ;)

Someone want to update the front page list so I can print on off real quick when I get back from classes head over to CC and make it back just in the nic of time for my other classes.

went to the CC in Grand Rapids, MI on 28th street and didn't find anything. all of the bin games were in hard clamshell cases and 95% of them had a new upc sticker on top of the original upc.

List in the OP is updated as of this post.

thanks to everyone contributing and helping with the list (trust co, and kampy ^^)
went to the CC in Grand Rapids, MI on 28th street and didn't find anything. all of the bin games were in hard clamshell cases and 95% of them had a new upc sticker on top of the original upc.
So you and Sark are the reason id ont find anything over there anymore eh?

Thanks for saving me a trip

Just to make it explicit, and to again show how YMMV all of this is as far as what is in stock, I did mention several pages back that I picked up

Maken X - Dreamcast - $1.99

I also saw NHL2K-something for Dreamcast - $1.99.

Didn't think to look for Twisted Metal: Black last night, but I probably won't go back and look for it today...not worth the effort required.

I did two different runs, and I don't think that the deal is worth anymore to me. With these gas prices and the fact that I have to deal with CC employees....who aren't as annoying as CrapUSSR employees....but nonetheless. I'll be waiting for the next CC clearance.

Alot of these were part of the $5 clearence last year weren't they? I think I actually picked up some of these for $5 at that time. Damn!! :D Some of these interest me, but without a CC within 15 minutes, I likely will not benefit from this deal. None of those titles scream, "Drive 20 miles and buy me!" It was nice for the $5 CC deal, I had a CC within 5 minutes of my house and work.

Thanks though to everyone who contributed to the list. If by some chance I am near a CC, I will defintely check this out!
Well I tried to take advantage of this deal at the Tustin CA store tonight and almost got into an argument with management. The cashier 'questioned' the price and went to the manager who refused to sell the titles at $1.99 even though they confirmed the price. Instead of spending 20 years arguing about it, I took his name, store #, and the corp # and I will be calling in the AM unless u can all argue to me why i should pursue this...
I don't think it would be worth it. After getting shut down by the Lakewood, Ca store I called the customer service number, csr just ended up calling the store I went to and talked to the manager and came back with the same story of it being a pricing error. The low price of $1.99 is just too unbelievable, and I doubt you'll be able to find someone at Circuit City corp who would believe that the price is anything but an error.

Overall this just wasn't a great sale for me, I'm happy a lot of people were able to get some games they wanted, and I even picked up a few, but it seemed like everytime I went to the register to pay, I felt nervous like I was doing something wrong and just waiting for the cashier to find me out.

Thanks, with this I go to CC, wish me luck.

That's why I purchased something else (i.e. USB flash drive) when bringing these games up to the counter. Clerks tend to notice that something may be wrong when 3 video games total up to $6 - they almost always do a double take and check the scanned price. Add a USB flash drive ($40) and the total price ($46) doesn't seem as abnormal and most clerks never notice the $1.99 scanned price for the games. I'll end up taking the flash drive back at some point.

I never worry about it. I've gone through 2 of the $5 clearances at my local CC, plus the whole screwup with the 2-for-$15 deal where the games were ringing up at $5 apiece, and every time I've never had any trouble. Sure, there are some employees who try to be smartasses and say, "The price is marked on the sticker!" but I just politely tell them that the game is over a year old, and the stickers probably haven't been updated since it came out. When they see I'm right, they generally just shut up and sell me the games. :D
Hell, I never see anyone in there doing pricing at all. Never.

I picked up Silent Scope and I Ninja for XB the other day and the cashier looked at the prices and asked if there were any others cuz her bf had an XB and would have been interested in some cheap games. I told her there was one other silent scope.

She then told me that the other day she had a customer who had some Star Wars GC game (she thought it might be SW Bounty Hunter) that rang up for 99 cents. None of those in this CC.

So it depends on how hardass a sales person you get. Generally the cashiers don't get a bug up their butts about sales, but management types and wannabes do!

You're completely right. Go to the REGISTERS, not customer servshit.

I had just the opposite experience. I took the list on here with me, as I was looking for games on the list, the game CSR asked if he could help me. I showed him the list and we went through all the xbox, gamecube and PS2 games and we actually found about 10. Only 2 of them (la pucelle tactics and Evil Dead boomstick or something) were priced at 1.99 and the other 2 powerdrome ps2/xbox were 4.99. The others we found had the stickers over the UPC.

As he was ringing them up, he just said, "not a bad haul, 4 games for $14". :)
You're completely right. Go to the REGISTERS, not customer servshit.
I generally agree, although I had to go to Customer Service twice. The first time was because I was trying to get them to price match Chessmaster with the CC website (I got shot down, because the acting manager claimed he couldn't discount it that much). I had to use CS last night because the store was about to close, and the other registers were shut down. I had about a dozen games to price-check, and I only ended up buying the 3 that rang up $1.99. They didn't give me any problem about it. (These were 2 different CCs).

There is no "game CSR". I always ask the employees in the game section for price-checks, I don't want to be surprised by a $20 game when I hit the registers. By CSR, we mean the people at the Customer Service counter.

1. Any circuit city, any state, yes.
2. Probably until the stickerless games (see #3) run out, possibly not that long.
3. You will not be able to spend "1 zillion dollars", even if you had that much, because you are unlikely to find more than a few qualifying games per store.
Instructions:
a) Print a list of the qualifying games.
b) Take the list to a CC.
c) Look for the games on the list, BUT, you must find them without CC's special value UPC covering up the original UPC on the back. Only the original UPC will scan at $1.99. With a few of the games( e.g. LPT, WMXIX, DC3), this is not an issue, since they were never part of the value line, they won't have the original UPC covered. On some of the games, it will vary by store (one store I went to had Fur Fighters without the CC Value UPC, another had them with the CC sticker covering the orignal UPC).

Also, I meant to mention before, one of the stores I went to last night had an insane amount of Power Drome for both Xbox and PS2, but I already had bought it from a different CC.

I managed to snag a Power Drome for PS2 @ $5. Last copy in the store.
Also picked up 4 $1.99 games: X-Men Next Dimension x2, Auto Modellista and a Batman Sin Tzu for PS2. They had a Batman for XBox but it was 20 sadly.

My store had at least 50 of the games on the list but they all had the damned sticker
There were 5 X2 Wolverines, at least 12 edit:Eve of Extinction, 10 Slipheeds, 5 Whirl Tour and on it went. Also a couple more X-Men ND but they had the stickers.

It's a UPC sticker over the normal UPC on the back of the game cover slips. All it has is a bigger UPC barcode to cover the normal one.
what does the sticker look like?
The list is on page one, the first post.
The stickers have UPC codes. They cover the original UPC on the back of the case.

Hey all. Long time listener, first time caller.

Muncie, IN has nothing. Period.

Ft Wayne, IN had a few of the games but they all rang up at their marked price. I even took SOCOM II up and it was priced at 19.99. I had to show the employee that it was clearly marked as being 9.99 in their sale (which ironically was listed there at the register) to get the right price. I had a huge sucess at my home Circuit City (at college now, meh) during the 4.99 sale this past summer, so needless to say my dreams were crushed with this one.

Good luck to everyone else though!

World Series 2K1 for Dreamcast rang up for $1.99. Not really worth it considering TRU had the 3 game pack of 2K1 games for $1.20, a little while ago.

i really wish my gamerush had some powerdromes in stock. they get 16 credit with the extra 5 bucks, and to combine it with the trade 2 get any game for 30 is really good.

Kinda funny how it seems some CA stores aren't selling them...I got the same story (Torrance) and another guy near me got the same story too from the Hawthorne (I think) store. I'm know other stores in other states say the same thing, it just seems more CA stores are saying that.

Got Poweder Drome PS2 4.99
Omega Boost PS 4.99
2 PS Double Packs for 1.99 each- Tomb Raider, Some Pinball game, Soul Reaver and Extreme Sky Diving, sadly no master blaster.
Those CC fucks marked every other 1.99 PS2 game with those stickers so the deals were shot, could have gotten quite a few titles had those stickers not been there.....my CC licks ass.

Found Silent Scope and it rang up at $1.99. I bought one and saw at three more on the racks. It was the only non-stickered clearance game for any system I found.

I also want to say I've never seen such an amalgramation of crap then at my C&C. There were plenty of games there that I wouldn't pay $1.99 for, much less the $10 or $20 that they're asking.

That's too bad some of your CC's are denying selling to you guys. I'm seriously having more fun with this sale than the previous $5 sale (because there is no competition at all and the CC employees are being very helpful) and the 90% off TRU sale (bigger selection of games and again no competition). I've gone to one CC four times and another CC twice and everytime I go to this one I'm finding one or two titles that no one else has found yet.

You can add these from my trip over lunch:
SWAT PS2
Half Life PS2 (old $5 title)

I've discovered something totally YMMV but some of you may want to check out. If your CC keeps some of it's red tagged 'value' games on the shelves, make sure and check the games behind it to see if they are also red tagged. There were two copies of Half Life, one was red tagged and the other was not. I grabbed five PS2 titles that fit this description and only one title (Half Life) rang up as $1.99 so finding a group of games like this doesn't mean a $2 game but it's worth checking. I got all excited because I found a Tekken Tag Tournament original box art in with the greatest hits TTT but that one rang up at $15. I've seen this work with the value bins too. Yesterday I found a non-red tagged Syberia Xbox in a bin where there were 3 or 4 red tagged ones.
Yea i was indicating it MP5 is not $1.99, and i really did get fired its ok i was going to quit today anyway.
That sucks man....sorry about that. I hope you don't my asking, but why did you get fired?

I went to 2 stores and dont have any problem.

Any luck in the norco/corona CC? It is out of my way from work, but if no one has gone there yet, it may be worth checking out. Hoping to save on wasted gas ~$2.53/gallon for the cheapest ARCO gas.
