I went to CC and checked. They had a whole long list of 1.99 games. But they still scanned in as the stickered price and where unwilling to lower them. One of the employes showed me the list and told me that the deal is not permanent and games lowered to that price are going to be sent-back away and are not to be sold at that price.
Those who bought any for 1.99 where lucky. This deal is done for now.
 
That's strange. Maybe the deal was going on before and no one noticed it until it was too late? With the way Circuit City never updates their prices, this could have been going on for weeks and we wouldn't have known and now they decided to salvage the games? (like Target does after a game has been on it's final markdown for a while)

I didn't get in till last night at midnight so I missed this thread. But I know that one of my CC"s had La Pucelle on Friday. So I'll head up there and hopefully it'll stil be there at the store opening.

I purchased La Pucelle about 3 and a half weeks ago for $31.49 (with tax). Just went back to CC to see if I could get a price adjustment and they knocked off over $29. Thanks OP! Also picked up a power drome for $4.96 (+ tax). There was a copy of xmen, unfortunately it was tagged with the $19.99 value sticker. I had it price checked anyway, but no luck. I'm guessing the original barcode is what rings up for the $1.99. Oh well can't win em all.

I just called my CC, and they said that if you buy a game at another CC and it's at a higher price than they have it in their computer, they'll price adjust it. So if you know a certain CC has the $1.99 in their computers, and you know another CC that has the product but at full price, you can get it adjusted.
 
Well, looks like I've gotta schedule another unexpected trip to CC this afternoon. :D
This, after I went and picked up the half-off PS1 games I wanted the last time. :)
 
If anyone can find one extra copy of any of these and would be willing to charge me cost plus shipping, I would definitely appreciate it!

I doubt my CC would still have the LP game. But the X-men game is worth a look, I remember them having a buncha copies last week and I will check to see if there is any other cheap games too.
 
Picked up two of three La Pucell's at the CC in WIlmington.

It was somewhat funny. I go to the rack, and I didn't see it. I saw i9t Friday. SO I'm looking, looking, and I have a picture of where it was in my mind's eye. So I literally, reached out my hand reflexively and picked a game at random. And lo and behold, behind one copy of Devil May Cry 3 there were three La Pucelles. Someone must have hid them intentionally. Anyway, grabbed two and left one.

Also went to the CC at the Mall. No La P_ucelles but I found aa copy of I-Ninja for the xbox at $2. I left it since I already have it.
 
A semi-disappointing experience.

I was able to pick up Batman this morning with no problem. Plus I got X-Men yesterday, so I was really excited when I read about La Pucelle. They didn't have any today, so I went to the next nearest CC and they had it, but for 29.99. I bought it to price match back at the *hot* CC where Batman and X-Men were ringing up right. Huge disappointment. It rang up 29.99 there too. I explained to her about the other games and how it's supposed to be on clearance. She was really nice, but there was nothing she could do. It was not in their system for 1.99. Major bummer.

Congrats to those who were able to pick it up. It's a definite YMMV.
 
I just got back from my CC trip and I got a chestmaster for PS2, a Matt Hoffmans for Xbox, and I had them scan the Hobbit for Xbox and it rang up 1.99. All these copies didn't have the upc's covered.

they have the xmen here but all the UPCS are covered meaning 19.99 per game. IF anyone can find an extra copy of LA puc tactics Pm me im looking at buying
 
Seems like more and more games keep popping up. :D I'm definitely stopping by after work...watching the list get bigger bit by bit is making me hunger for the cheap games...

I hear ya. I'm about to get up and go but I want to see if any more games are added before I got so I don't have to make multiple trips.
 
I've never seen La Pucelle Tactics at any CCs before in my life. As for those games listed, I remembered alot of the bin and shelf games having the UPCs covered. Even all the PSone games were covered in UPCs. Well, I still don't see why this thread is so huge. I mean, it is YMMV with some games having different UPCs. But unless a bigger lists forms, I'm not really going to waste a trip for disappointment. =/
 
Just got back, I was expecting to be able to find Colony Wars since last time I was there they had a decent selection. Man they must have been wiped out during that last sale. But I did manage to get the last copies of I-ninja and Eternal Darkness as well as La Pucelle.

Both rang up $1.99 at Silver Spring Maryland. Thanks OP.


Forgot to add, they also have a copy of X-man Next Dimension, but it rang up $14.99 instead of $1.99.

Did it have a sticker over the UPC? Or was the original UPC scanned from the box?

Hell yes. Even if you don't own the system or don't want the game, just buy it and wait for EB's "trade 2 get $10 bonus credit" deal. You'll be making money on every game.

R.A.D. is $1.99 if your cc has it (which is HIGHLY unlikley since it was part of the $4.99 sale last july.)

i went to 2 stores and got all 4 games at one store, the 2nd store had nothing. games that ar NOT on sale:
downhill domination
crouching tiger, hidden dragon (ps2)
 
Just got back. The only things I picked up were Batman: RoST GC ($2, the one with the lithograph) and Powerdrome Xbox ($5). I saw The Hobbit for PS2. I'll go by and have it price checked before I had back home from work.
 
I went over lunch, but didn't scan anything. If I would have seen LPT I would have bought it but I didn't find one. Now that other people's finding are starting to surface this is starting to look like a bigger deal than what I first thought. I'm going back after work and having them scan any cheap non-'Value' tagged game. I saw about 4 copies of Batman PS2 and I saw one copy of The Hobbit Xbox so it won't be a total loss. But I'll be interested in see what that copy of X-Squad (was part of the $5 sale) and that $9.99 marked Star Wars Bounty Hunter rings up at. There were a few others too, but I can't remember. I'll post my findings tonight.

I didnt really notice if there is a sticker over the UPC or not, as soon as it rang up $14.99, I put it back to the shelf. The game doesnt look too fun to me in the first place anyway. :whistle2:\ sorry I cant be much help.

I don't understand it either since like you said, all CC stores usually have the same pricing. I hope this clearance is just an isolated case and if CC has anything like that huge $4.99 sale again, it won't be YMMV
