I couldn't believe they even had one in stock, but if you can find it @ a CC B&M it's definitely a steal at that price especially since it's brand new :)

The Double Packs Are 1.99, Mother fucker, Why Was I Not Informed, Guess I Have To Go Back Tomorrow, Goddamit.
Were you writing that intentionally in Caps Lock or were you purposely capitalizing each beginning letter?
The whole value sticker thing is a weird thing IMO. Technically one person could get a game at the $1.99 price and one could get it at the $10 or more price at the same store depending if they were marked or not. Why should one person get screwed? I think more than anything this has to do with CC's lack of in-store game organization. Not that Best Buy's game section always looks perfect but it is usually a lot more intact then CC.
I think it's a distributor thing. The ones that are on sale are the ones that CC has always had since the game came out/was in print. The stuff in the value bins is, I think, new(er) product from someone else designed to be sold through at a low price, but not a clearance price. I think.
I rip off the UPC stickers and buy them because I:

A) am doing nothing illegal
B) if Blockbuster won't give me a good enough price on them I can return them to CC for the cash I spent.

The games are listed in their computer system with the original barcode, by name, for $2. If they were unwilling to sell the games for that price why did they even put it in the system in the first place?

In any case (and this is not intended as a flame/troll) morality does not matter to me, and this is not the thread to start a discussion of it. So I have used the shared knowledge of others, and posted my experience, if another decides to do as I have done more power to them. If a legal means of stretching every gaming dollar does not mesh with your ethical outlook, don't do it. But unless I am somehow violating this forum's rules (and if I am I'm sorry, mods: delete my post) I could do without your moral condescension
I'd question the legality of removing the UPC stickers since the UPC's designate a different product in CC's system. Circuit City probably has those Value Stickered games in their inventory differently than the non-value stickered games. A lot of companies order large shipments of these already stickered "Value Games". As far as I know, individual CC's do not just slap these stickers on games already in their inventory, but they order these games separately. So if CC has any decent system to keep track of what products they actually have in the store, you are going to be screwing up those numbers. Maybe I'm wrong about how CC keeps track of inventory and they actually do just slap the stickers on there, but that would be a horrible way of handling your product.
The Double Packs Are 1.99, Mother fucker, Why Was I Not Informed, Guess I Have To Go Back Tomorrow, Goddamit.
Yep, I reported that yesterday afternoon...does your CC still have many of them?
Mine didn't have too many...I got the last Soul Reaver/Blaster Master pack, and left a ton of the Tomb Raider/Skydiving packs along with a pack that had Reel Fishing/Something Else. Let me know what they've got...$2 for 2 games seems like a hard deal to pass up, even though I had no interest in any of the ones except the one I bought.

dude i don't particularly care, but don't try to rationalize your actions...what you are doing IS illegal...the current price of those games is the CC barcode sticker price...not the original gamebox barcode...right now at my CC matt hoffman xbox is like 16.96 or whatever because THAT is the price....ripping off the UPC barcodes is no different than switching price tags to something lower....again you do whatever you want but don't get on here making yourself feel better by rationalizing to the nth degree....WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS ILLEGAL

Here's what I got
Project Eden $1.99
Haunted Mansion
Monster Jam Maximum Destruction

Also found Xmen ND but it rang up $9.99 without sticker.

Also some older games without stikcer are not even in their system. Defender, Top Gun, and Risk are like that.

Just picked up
Dead to Rights GC
I-Ninja PS2
Tenchu PS1
Blood Omen 2 PS2

All $2. I left any extras behind so if your in Tampa go to Dale Mabry store.

Also

From what I understand from the employees this is not a real sale. There is supposed to be one soon as an associate was telling me about it. All $1.99 games are supposed to be stickered with new UPCs and "value tags". These are considered discontinued games (Im sure we all figured this out). Last year, all non sports $5 clearance games that didn't sell became value priced games. This also explains the YMMV on this sale as the new UPC replaces the $2 one. I found this out by the 2 copies of Dead to Rights I rang up. One was $20 and the other $2. So happy hunting and good luck with all the La Pucelles that are still on the shelves.

I looked at every Project Eden in my CC, and couldn't find one without the sticker. I knew it'd be cheap, but I didn't want to pull the stickers off of any of the games. Wish they'd have left one unstickered for me. ):

The deal is a no go at the CC in the Palisades Park Mall (NY)...found a $1.99 game (Whirl Tour I believe), and the lady who checked the prices said it was a glitch in the computer and wouldn't give it to me...

I have a feeling that this deal is gonna be dead soon, so get in on it while you can.

Went to my local Circuit City in Charlottesville this afternoon--they were pretty much cleaned out (hehe, mainly due to me in their previous 'sales' :D ). I did find a couple of copies of Batman Rise of Sin Tzu (PS2 version), and so I picked three up, one is for me to keep, the other two are up for trade (shoot me a PM with any offers)... and fear not, I left about five or six copies there for anyone else who wants to stop by :)

I was able to get-
Frogger GC
Eternal Darkness GC
Mickey Magical Mirror GC

The 2 copies of I Ninja PS2 I saw yesterday before I knew about the sale were gone..sucks. I had previously bought it from CC for $5 and traded in after completing it. Woulda been nice to pick it up again for $2. And damn wish I knew Dead to Rights was also on $1.99, I completed it on a rental already but I guess when I hit a different CC I'll keep an eye out.

Same here, and they were all at the top of the bin to. Seems like somebody was there before me

well, my CC is not in on this... all games listed (as well as others I wanted to test) do not work at the CC near Dadeland Mall for all you people in Miami (prob 2 people)

hee.. you are right, but actually I read about how people can actually trade them for eb store credit, is that even true? cus how can EB accept demos??

I'd have to agree with you.
Removing price tags is beyond reasonable behavior, as the obvious intent of the act is to defraud the store.

This is like the worst sale ever. The list of games is horrible and even if you do find the games, there's a good chance that they're covered with the "value games" UPC sticker over them. IMO this is a complete waste of time and gas (which is going at $2.30 ATM).

Unless you have nothing else to do, then by all means jump on this deal. Otherwise if you want to find La Pucelle Tactics, all you have to do is make a phone call...

Oh yeah, not to crap on the OP's thread but it's how I felt about this deal. Thanks for informing us anyways.

this is a good deal for some people who are looking to fill their collections (for me i want tenchu) and for some decent trade fodder...and for the few who are hoping to find a few rare gems

if you make a phonecall to cc, you chance them grabbing it for themselves...which 9 times out of 10, the will...or at least show it to another employee who'll buy it for themselves or someone else

and this deal isn't garbage....i picked up around 20 games from this deal and im happy with every one of them....half for me, half for trade/sale

the selection of games could be better, but wtf do you expect for $1.99?

Going over the last EB exclusion list (which is no longer posted online, BTW), this is a list of stuff that might work out as trade fodder:

Playstation 2
18 Wheeler: American Pro Trucker
Bombastic
Chessmaster
Drome Racers
Frogger Adventures: The Rescue
La Pucelle Tactics
RAD
Star Wars: Bounty Hunter
Taz Wanted
X-Men: Next Dimension

Xbox
Bloodrayne
Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (UPC 09155116702)
Freedom Fighters
Silent Scope Complete

Gamecube
Beyond Good & Evil
Disney's Magical Mirror Starring Mickey Mouse
Eternal Darkness
Frogger Adventures: The Rescue
Mario Party 5
Nickelodeon Rocket Power: Beach Bandits

Here's what I found and bought for $1.99:

Beyond Good & Evil (GC)
Frequency (PS2)
I-Ninja (XBX)

My store had most of the other games on the OPs list, even Mario Party 5, but none of them rang up @ $1.99.

I was hoping to find Disney's Magical Mirror but they didn't have it. I'd be willing to trade my BG&E(GC) for it if anyone is interested.
Is this deal at all CC's? I have one across the street from my business and wouldn't mind checking it out if these are cheap at all locations.
it couldn't hurt checking it out. This is at all CCs, but of course it depends on what they have left in-stock.

I thought the person who posted that Mario Party 5 was on the list said they were mistaken, so I was under the assumtion that it wasn't $1.99 anywhere. Am I remembering wrong?
ripping off the UPC barcodes is no different than switching price tags to something lower....
I agree; this is what I was thinking as well. Honestly, removing UPC stickers just for trade-in credit strikes me as something that I would prefer to not be a supporter of, so I really hope this does not become the trend at CAG.

No offense, yo, but please realize that your actions make fellow CAGs feel slightly awkward about being a part of a community that would support, or make possible in someone's mind, such things as the removing UPC stickers for deals.

No, you're right. Mario Party 5 was never a part of this sale. It was a mistake on the part of the person who posted.

Add: Big Mutha Truckers Xbox to the list

I have the following games for trade:
GC :Batman Rise of Sin Tsu (limited lithograph box)
GC Disneys MAgical Mirror
PS2 Big Mutha Tuckers
Xbox Big Mutha Truckers

I am looking to trade for:
PS2 La Pucelle Tactics
PS2 X-Men: Next Dimension
PS2 I-Ninja
PS2 Batman Rise of Sin Tsu
xbox Freedom Fighters

PM me if anyone would like to trade.

Thanks
I thought BB had them on clearance for $0.99 each? The red and yellow ones rang up for that price no longer than a few days ago for me.
Got them (Jampack 10 and 11) just yesterday at BB for 99 cents.

so let me get this straight, these games are in the "value bin" and are marked $1.99? if they have a value sticker they are NOT $1.99???

Not exactly, from what I've seen the games are generally stickered at $10, $15 or something else, but they may ring up at $2 IF there is not a new barcode sticker over the original.

And regarding my earlier comments, it appears that a consensus is forming against my sticker removing actions. So I'll avoid posts like it in the future.

2.30? I wish it was that low, its 2.55 at am/pm for god's sake...
damn you OPEC!!

I'm surprised I'm still finding games from the $5 sale, horrible games but worth picking up for $2.

Alter Echo Xbox
Syberia Xbox (for some reason one copy wasn't red tagged)
Stake Fortune Fighters Xbox
it appears that a consensus is forming against my sticker removing actions.
I'd expect just such behavior from a god-less atheist. :D

I'm heading to the Fairfield CC right now unless any CAGs can confrim that store it already tapped.
Or maybe one of the Sac town ones? (*hates driving in sac*)

Thanks OP! I got the following at the Bakersfield, CA store

La Pucelle Tactics PS2 $1.99!!!!!!!!! Holy Crap!!
Evil Dead Fistfull of Boomstick PS2 $1.99 (no clue if this is a good game or not)
Powerdrome XB $4.99
Powerdrome PS2 $4.99

I also got the following from the sale this week:
R&C Going Commando PS2 $9.99
Socom II PS2 $9.99

They had, but I didn't pick-up:
X-Men: Next Dimension $19.99
Jampacks 10 and 11 $1.99

So, $34 plus tax for 3 great games and 3 for trading fodder. :)

I checked my local CC this afternoon (Torrance, CA), and didn't find anything on the shelfs. I asked an employee if they could look up La Pucelle for me (that's the one I wanted the most), and a few minutes later the manager came over to us and said that they pulled all the games that were $1.99 and put them in the back office. He said it was a "pricing error" and supposedly corporate offices had forced all CCs to do this, and that no CC was selling them for $1.99.

Just picked up Eternal Darkness for $1.99 at the CC. The guy was pretty shocked and asked me if it came from the bin :)

Had a sticker for $9.99 on it and I would have definetly paid that, I was about to pay $16 for it used at EB.

Wish they had La Pucelle though :(

I know most people won't want to give up their La Pucelle, but if someone wants to trade their Beyond good and evil, I have a ton of games I'm not playing (ps2 mainly)

just got La Pucelle in nyc ...i remember the store having 5 copies...all the way back from last years $5 sale and no one bought them. However i didn't see anymore when i went today and didn't see any of the other games.

guess i got lucky
