OK, since most of my first order's status has changed from "On Order From Manufacturer" to "Reserved For Your Order" (all but 5 disks of the 25), I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on another batch. Quick opinion request - which is better, Stylvia or Last Exile? Or is there something else (I tend to prefer the lighter stuff usually).
 
Ok, I would like to pull the trigger on this sale, but I have never watched anime and was wondering what is a great anime show to start a noobie with, thanks in advance.

Last Exile is an amazing series. Stellivia is medicore from what I heard but is from the director of Nadeisco which IS a great series. I would go with last exile. Engaging and beautiful looking.

Well, there are a few recomendations to certain genres in the thread already. So you can follow that if you hasve the same taste as other members. What I generally show people though is Read or Die, which while not on this sale, is on sale for 10 bucks. Nice short OVA with lots off action and eye candy.

I wouldn't call Stellvia medicore. It has nice animation and the first half is pretty intersting. Though I oculd care less about the second half. If anything, just get the first 4 vol.

If I was to choose one though, i'd probably go with last exile also. I didn't buy it from this sale since I already own it. Oh the monies I paid for it. I need to rewatch it soon.

I went with Heat Guy J from recommendations in this thread. Koi Kaze & Sol Bianca looked interesting & had pretty good reviews. Texhnolyze, I got the first disk of in my original order and just felt like getting the whole series (especially since people say the series doesn't pick up until the second disk anyway). And Last Exile...well, you guys were here for that part of the story. :p

I have no idea when I'll ever watch all of this. ;)
 
I placed an order a couple of days ago and it says backorder for all my stuff. Does this mean I won't get it? Also do they charge you before they ship the items or when they do ship them? Thanks for any help.

Normally, rightstuf only bills you as items ship. However, they did point out that, for this sale, if your order has to be split into multiple shipments, they'll bill you the full amount with the first shipment. But you'll defintely have something in the mail before you're charged.

'Backordered' is a pretty standard message with Rightstuf. Most likely, you'll get everything just fine, but they do point out that since this sale is moving so much closeout product, something may go out-of-stock before your order's filled. They'll email you when that happens so you can pick another item.
 
Jeez, when did you all order? I ordered last monday @ 1:30pm est and i have still yet to get any emails other than the original confirmation.

I ordered last Monday night and all my stuff is still "backordered". A couple people on DVDTalk had some of their dvds ship before the end of last week. I'm sure pretty much all the orders will be filled, but I'm still anxious to see that shipping confirmation. I really don't want to have to swap for any other titles. Plus, I'm hoping they fill the orders based on when you ordered, so people who ordered the first few days will see theirs ship first.

I hate the waiting! :whistle2:(
 
After it pulls up your order summary, make sure you click on "View Order" to view the details. Mine has that "All Backordered" message at the summary page, but when I go into details it only looks like they're waiting on 5 of the 25 disks.
 
^ Thanks for pointing that out! I found that 16/60 DVDs have been "Reserved for your order", which made me quite happy. And 9 of those is from my 10-DVD order (they're just waiting on Akira), so I might see that one ship soon! :)
 
Didnt even think of logging in on the Righstuf site to check. All it says is "Processing" for all my dvds.

I notice it also says "Ship Date 9/17" Which obivously, yesterday was a Sunday.
 
All of mine are backordered...I thought they would take the ones that were OOS out of the sale. Makes me angry that I couldn't order Black Heaven disc 1 and 4...doesn't matter if they're backordered, since the rest of my order is.:roll:Ah well, at least I got to place an order.
 
Hellsing 1-4 say "On Order From Manufacturer", everything else says "Reserved For Your Order". So it sounds like my order is just waiting on the Hellsing volumes.

You can only buy from the "Bountiful Items" list. There are no box sets listed, only individual DVDs.

Also, you have to order exactly 10 DVDs (for $50) or exactly 25 DVDs (for $100).
 
So how do you know whether these are in-stock or not? I want to buy the entire Trigun and all of the Gungrave DVDs, but some of them don't list a quantity. For example, Gungrave Vol 4 still has 1185 quantity remaining, but most of the other volumes do not list a quantity remaining. Does that mean they're out of stock?

If there is no counter, they should still have plenty available. It looks like they're missing a few volumes of Trigun, but you should be able to get all of Gungrave. They may take a while to ship though.
 
Yeah it seems they update every night.

28/60 DVDs are processing for shipment (all of my 10-DVD order and part of my 1st order). Out of what's left, 21 more are reserved, leaving 11 still "on order". Made my morning to see the status change!
 
I ordered Haibane Renmei 1-4 and Chobits 1-6 one week ago.
The four Haibane Renmei DVDs have always had "Reserved for Your Order" as their status. I checked this morning and Chobits 4 changed from On Order to Reserved, the other five are still On Order from Manufacturer.

I also got an email from Right Stuf:

Yeah don't worry about that email - I got one too a couple days ago. I think it's just automatically sent out after a period of time.

Welp, my order shipped. Now im wishing i had bought some more. I'd love to have a set of sealed Paranoia Agents just for my collection.

Doh! Alot of my items are still on backorder. I did get an email saying they were working on it though. They really got alot of my money this month.

When did you place your order? I think you still have a few stages to go. You'll probably see a Processing stage, then "all backordered" or "on order from manufacturer", then reserved, then shipment processing, then finally shipment. Phew. :)

They are doing a great job filling the orders in a timely manner, considering how many orders they got.

Ooops that was supposed to be 13th, not 3rd. Was asking now since I heard Rightstuf is supposed to send out weekly e-mails on status and its been 8 days and I havent gotten one.

Edit: They did add Ai Yori Aoshi Enishi DVDs+figures. Those definitely weren't there before (or at least when I ordered). That's pretty cool!

Wish they'd add the Champloo DVDs, but I know that probably won't happen...
 
Battle Athletes Victory was also added. And was Master Keaton already on the list? There's so much I can't even remember what was there.
