And for the love of god, stay away from the Cardcaptors DVDs.
Texhnolyze has some of the coolest DVD cover artwork, I remember marveling at them at FYE, where they had the lenticular 3D inserts. In the set I got from the rightstuf sale only the first volume came with it.
Man, and here volume one was the only one that came to me *without* the lenticular cover.

So did all volumes have the lenticular covers, but randomly dispersed during the releases (i.e. some had them and some didn't)? Mine have yet to arrive from Rightstuf...

I'd imagine the first run were the ones with the Lenticulars. Theyre probably mixed up in their shipments so its random whether you get a lenticular or not.

My Vol 1 came with it, but not Vol 2. I was able to find Vol 6 w/ Lenticular at EB before the Geneon sale started. The lenticulars are really cool looking (the first one seems to be the best). The box set that came out back in July has a bonus 3 lenticular "onserts". Cheapest i can find that box is around $90, so its not worth it.

Geneon will usually do special stuff like this with the first runs of their discs, as an incentive to buy early. For a while, they would be packaged inside the cases, with a little sticker on the outside that mentioned the bonus. This backfired when some stickered discs did *not* actually have the item inside, so now all Geneon bonuses are packaged on the outside where you can clearly see them.
Cheapest i can find that box is around $90, so its not worth it.
Not worth it HA HA

I paid $30 NEW for each of the DVDs when they came out, with the lenticular covers.

So $90 for the full set + each individual lenticular cover + THREE EXCLUSIVE box lenticulars = worth it to me :whistle2:#

The girl with the mask looks like the best one to me, and that's box only. :bomb:

Yes. All volumes had the lenticular covers but not all copies have them though. It is attached on the front cover so that you can tell immediately if you have it or not.

Got my DVD's today.

Very strange though, it looks like some of them might have been resealed. They all have the stickers on top of the cases, but some of them don't have the stickers on the fronts of the cases, and are visibly sealed using a different method. Not just one series either, Gungrave, Texhnolyze and Last Exile all have some discs that were sealed differently. Perhaps I'm just being paranoid, but keep an eye out.

Two of my Texhnolyze discs have the covers, and one of them has a sticker stating there is a cover inside, but no cover on the outside. I wasn't expecting a full set though, so I'm not disappointed here.

That happens with TSRI, I was WTFing a couple years back when I got I, my, me and Vandread. They also came in differnt style of DVD cases.

These are closeout items coming from Geneon. They aren't all going to be perfect.

One of the cases has a scorch mark on it, maybe from when it was resealed.

One floater out of 10 due to a broken hub, and it was the only one that had that kind of hub.

EDIT: I also meant to ask if anybody got any extras with their DVDs. My Chobits 5 and Haibane Renmei 4 came with penciboards.

Just received 6 more DVDs. Still waiting for my other 25 to be shipped, as well as Lain 2. The 25-DVD order should be shipping this week.

got shipping conformation my order oct 1. should be here anytime, cant wait, wish i ordered more but i had to save for black friday

Everything in my last 2 orders now says "reserved", so they should be shipping any time now. Watching all of this is going to take me forever! :p

I ordered on 9/20, it says it shipped on 9/24, but it also says "All Backordered" with only Akira as the one backordered. Do you guys think they shipped the other part of my order seperately?

No, it always has a ship date even when it hasnt shipped yet. It just shows the date that it would have shipped had everything been in stock/processed (yea, kinda confusing)

4 out of the 25 in my order are still backordered. The wait continues...

I wonder how they pack and ship 25 DVDs?! I never bought so many DVDs in a single order

My 18 DVDs actually came in a bigger box. The 25 DVD box came in four piles (7,7,6,5) of DVDs wrapped in brown paper, whereas the 18 DVD box had little cardboard barriers surrounding everything. Obviously, I'd prefer everything be sent the latter way, but everything I've ever received from righstuf has been packaged extremely well.

Just waiting on my last order and I can be a proud 100/100!

I just thought about this, but better late than never. I'm pretty sure the X tv series was part of this sale, right? Well, I have the collector's box for that set that I'd like to trade for a box that I need - maybe His & Her Circumstance, maybe Trigun (if there is one), maybe Sugar (ditto)...

If anyone has any spare collector's boxes they'd like to trade & are interested in the X box, let me know - maybe I can match needs w/ someone else.
Wahoo! My order went from "All BackOrdered" to "Processing"

:)

Hopefully I'll have these in like 2 weeks.
From my experiences, "Processing" means "They shipped today!"

Mine are processing too and it says they shipped yesterday, but I haven't got the confirmation e-mail yet. Next week is gonna be nice, I have over 20 DVDs coming in the mail (only half are from TRSI). :)

I finally ordered the last SE vol of 2nd GIG (wish I had preordered it from TRSI and saved $5 but I couldn't find anything else I wanted for the free shipping then when I finally decided to just buy the Gungrave art book the sale was over), and I'm on the 5th disc now. I also finally finished my Samurai Champloo collection so I'll be watching that after I finish GitS, then I get to start Fighting Spirit... :D

Heh, my second order has had 1 item on order for a week or so now. Crap man, it's holding up the whole thing, since they probably won't ship a partial order with only one disc left.

I probably would have canceled if I could, probably put that money into a new monitor fund, since I just bought a new graphics card. It's all good though, half of it I bought for my sister anyway.

Call or email them and they'll release your in-stock items. My Tenchi the movie 1 held up my order as well. Sent them an email and they shipped out the in-stock items the next day.

Well, it said mine shipped yesterday. Just hope I'm home when it arrives or someone from my family. My family is leaving for Kentucky for a weekon the 14th.
:D got my order earlier today

*brings eye candy*

stack still stands.

i wonder which one ill watch first!
That'sssssss puuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrtttttttyyyy.

heh. Your just making me want my own order to arrive faster.

hey, at least you know its coming. it came in a large sized boxed, 4 stacks of dvds wrapped in brown paper. good packaging and service. would definately shop from again. thanks for the heads up guys

Oh man was I teased yesterday....

My last order shipped the 3rd (according to the tracking) and arrived yesterday (the 6th!) - wow was that fast and unexpected. Funnily, I was literally walking out the door to head up to Vermont when the postman delivered it. So I had to wait until I got back tonight to open them. Once I get all settled in, I'll sit down and open them, and then unwrap everything (I wanted to remove all the seals at once!)

Edit:
Phew! Just spent a couple hours opening everything. Here's what I got for neat stuff/bonuses:
- Tokyo Underground 1-6 all had pencilboards (3 was resealed, didn't have a sticker indicating there was a board, but there was one).
- Texhnolyze 4 had the lenticular cover.
- Requiem from the Darkness 1 - pencilboard (resealed, no sticker indicating).
- Koi Kaze 2,3 had stickers.
- Sakura Wars had a super thick booklet.
- The Enishi figures are cute!

And for fun, all of my DVDs from the sale:

^^nice score. i liked how you went for complete sets. I only completed my Ikki-Tousen and Lain sets. They were sold out of Paranoia Agent Vol 2 when i got to the sale. My Trigun choices were deliberate because i only liked the Gung-Ho Guns Eps. And i wasnt gonna get all 14 Lupin DVS(theres probably even more)

Everything else was "lemme check this out"

*puts Ikki Vol 2 and Burn-Up Scramble Vol 1 in his backpack* :D

Alright, unless I miscounted, there are only 59 dvds in that picture. What's missing? :p

Lain 2. I've posted before that I'm still waiting on it, so I didn't want to sound like a broken record. ;)

I wanted to wait 'til I had all (or in this case most) of my DVDs, then take a huge picture of them all still sealed before plowing in and opening them all. Hope everyone takes some pics! It's fun to see large amounts of DVDs (and I know there are some here that ordered much more than I did!) :)

It seems, it's your first order from rightstuf.....I have ordered from them like 8 times, and to be honest to you, their customer service is the best, and the shipping is always on time, for me they are the most reliable web anime shop, they always answer the emails, very excellent service, as u have noticed.!

I wish I'd ordered earlier since it would've been nice to get more complete series... ah well...

Anyway, all the stuff I ordered is still on backorder. I would be annoyed, but this is too good of a deal to bother complaining and I've got another order coming from Rightstuf with some bargain bin items that are ridiculously good.... hopefully I'll have both packages by Thursday or Friday when I'm home again...

When all of mine arrive, I will have picked up 10 complete series (11 if you count Ai Yori Aoshi & Ai Yori Aoshi Enishi as 2 seperate series) over my 60 disks. I also picked up the last disk of Lain for a friend, completing his set & Fushigi Yugi Eikoden for my wife since she has the full TV series already (still need the OAV set tho...). Oh, and 1 stand-alone movie. :p I'll take pics once everything arrives next week. Completeness FTW! :D

I probally would have bought more if I hadnt already owned most of the must haves on there. I already have Trigun complete, Lain complete, Hellsing complete, and all 3 Tenchi movies. :)

Awesome pic, moiety! Yay for Tsukihime covers
Chobits too of course ^^

What is the difference between the regular and lenticular covers for Texhnolyze? Could you take a photo of that?

Here's a pic of all the anime I purchased:

I placed my order September 20th. Everything is reserved for my order and my order still hasn't shipped. This is getting ridiculous, considering some people who ordered almost ten days later than me are getting theirs.

xghostsniperx call them. Its toll free. i did and my order was stuck on reserved for over a week. Somehow my order got placed on hold. I called them and they took it off and shipped it next day.

I think that when I changed my shipping over the phone the person accidently placed it on hold. Either way they have great customer service.
