News on the Eva Box Set Delay.

"As many of you probably noticed, we have not yet been able to fill many of the orders for this box set from the recent 12 days of savings.

Just an update that because we sold so many, ADV actually ran out of the physical cartons that are used to assemble the set and had to produce more. We are expecting delivery of these sets sometime late the week of 1/24.

Sorry for the delay".

Awww crap...I knew I forgot something when I went to bed last night. I meant to order NGE. Well, back to randomly hating the series.
 
I ordered Neon Genesis Perfect DVD Collection on December 13th and it arrived yesterday, just in time for Christmas. This is the first time I've ordered from this Company, and I'm very impressed. Awesome prices and speedy shipping. I ordered a bunch of other stuff from the 12-day special yesterday afternoon. My girls abouit flipped when they opened NGP Collection as they were just looking at this in Suncoast for $169.99. What a fantastic deal this was at $39.99! :)
 
Lets see I purchased Evangelion Perfect Collection and Gasari, neither have yet to arrive, hopefully early january, ive yet to even see shipment confirmation.

I ordered NGE, Devil Lady, Gasarki, $85. Free shipping was a nice surprise, since the before-discount total was (way) over $99, I guess. Thanks, Admiral Akbar!
 
thought i was done when i ordered NGE, but they kept extending the sale! i just put in another order for burn up and gasaraki. *sigh*
 
I wish they would stop extending this sale. I've been going through a huge internal struggle as to whether or not to buy the Kenshin set, and it ending would put my worries aside. I already ordered Garasarki and NGE, but this seems like a pretty sweet deal on the Kenshin.

You could have it today, you'd just have to pay 3 to 4 times more. If your time is worth more than your money, go for it.

I ordered it on the 15th, andit just shipped yesterday. I should have it early next week (I hope).
 
Ice stormes have slowed things down at RS. So that may be cause of delay.

I'm hoping mine will be shipped by the end of the week. Considering I placed my order on the 23rd and with the holidays if it ships by Friday that would be the usual speed from RS.
 
Now after seeing evangelion on dvd Im going to have to buy death and rebirth on dvd and the end of evangelion, and Ill probably have to buy the directors edition of death and rebirth as well. Thats another good 80 bucks to spend, more than I spent on the series but it will appease my eva obsession.
 
I would skip death and rebirth and just get End of.

I rented D&R before End. Basically, the first half of D&R is a rehash of the series in a combination of a clip show and new footage. The new footage isn't worth it. It's not anything new, just them playing their instruments and a few other bits. It's a quasi-clip show in the feel of the ending of the original series. Then the second half of D&R is the first half of End of. The series flows perfectly from say, episodes 23-24 into End of.
 
Got my Eva today! Very pleased, although part of the box is damaged (bent). But it's not like I was saving it for any specific reason.

Will probably start watching these tonight...

Yes I know this, but ive never seen D&R and id like to own it to feel like I have explored every aspect of evangelion, and the directors cuts are supposed to be better.

i agree with the admiral. if you subscribe to netflix or have access to some other anime rental means, i'd recommend trying D&R before deciding to buy. it might satiate your present just-finished-the-whole-EVA-series euphoria (which i too have tasted, oh yes) enough for you to make a more logical decision. IMHO D&R didn't do anything for the series and even the End was not a very satisfying ending.

Did you get a shipping conformation e-mail? I got one for my order of His and Her Circumstances. It gave me a tracking number and all the info I needed to track it. I should think it's the same for you. The status on rightstuf.com doesn't change from "Shipped Complete," though...
 
I received Najica Blitz Tactics (DVD1 + artbox) and Samurai X movie. NGE box and Samurai X OVAs are still on backorder.

When I first saw evangelion back when I was 16, three years ago and end of evangelion I was like so confused I had to watch it over a few times till I understood most of it, I sat down and read the entire evangelion otaku website. Im just saying id like to own it all for the sake of saying to my teenage son someday, son when I was 16 this was one of the most defining things I have ever seen watch it as I did, oh and hers clerks which was also great.

Well now it says that my Samurai X is shipped complete under status but my Eva box set is now backordered. I so hope it comes through and I get it.
