1st CAG SSBB Season - Week 14: Championship & 3rd Place Matches + Smash Bowls MIA?

Odd facts I noticed after seeing the latest Smash Polls:

- Rig (formerly #14) wins and goes unranked
- dyeknom is ranked lower than BlueLobstah, even though he beat him in Week 1
- Daisydog (pre-ranked #11) and BlueLobstah (pre-ranked #11) switch places after 2 weeks
- zitanix faces #2 for the second time: first evergoo, now JoeB1233

Thanks for the extra matches afterwards Mad D and it was nice to play you again. Sorry that the connection wasn't flawless. It definitely wasn't terrible, but lately it's been like this and I don't know why. I don't think it's because of the tropical storm that lingering around. It may be that my Wii is dying though I don't see any signs. I also saw that you found a way to rack up damage in the second match :) Sorry I had to leave, I have to meet up with some friends. Also, were you playing with the component cables?

I'm having a hard time getting a response from TimPV3. It looks like he was here for the first two weeks' games, but I've not heard from him in the two PM's I've sent him. Has anyone heard if he's out of town or out of the tournament?

Well that first match was way closer than I would have liked :lol: I was horrible tonight (I blame Lurk!) but I did get the win:

I played him in Week 2 (only 2 games and then he left) and my impression is that he's busy working but he does have availability.

The running was a bit of a desperation move once it dawned on me that Link's pretty much immune to projectiles because of his moveset, but it worked out okay. :lol:

That Samus match was actually the first one I've lost by more than one life, though I got you to something like 150% before I died. Good enough for me.

The matches afterward were a lot of fun, especially the Ice Climbers vs. Ice Climbers matchup. I'm amazed I won the few I did, and it's given me a few ideas for character selection next time around.

Next up: every fucking one of my opponents is ranked, save Rig (who was ranked until this week and will probably kick my ass anyway). I wouldn't be surprised if my Week One wins are the only ones I see this season. :shock:
 
I want to play AmigoOne but missed him by half a hour. Let me know your free tommorow. Also, I have no internet at work. Since my supervisor doesn't want me to look at kool websites like CAG. Poor Hero.

I was especially worried when I (stupidly) killed myself on the second stock at Smashville. I knew I had to stay away from Bowser's throw!
 
Note to self: The records are up-to-date at this point. :)

I'm going to Wal-mart and K-mart tonight to look for a USB dongle. Hopefully I'll get it working and I might play online tomorrow or later tonight (maybe I can convince DMK to play online).

And where are Blue and FM? I haven't seen them in a while.

Well, turns out I couldn't find a Wi-fi USB dongle at either: a) Best Buy, b) Circuit City, c) K-Mart, or d) Wal-mart. Great times! I'll see what the cost is on Amazon. :(

Would a USB ethernet adapter work? Would remove the wireless guesswork out of the equation.

Why is Marc improving so much? I kept training him. He is suppose to remain at a sucky level and I'm suppose to improve more than him.

Remember, I'm finally incorporating grabs into my game. I don't know how I managed to be successful before w/o grabbing.

The Lag was AWFUL :bomb:, no question about it. There was a delay of about 1-3 seconds from the time I gave a command to the time it did it on screen :whistle2:&. I killed myself :wall: that last time with Ike because it was just impossible to use him with that much lag. Nintendo really needs to fix their damn online service. I was playing TF2 and Halo 3 no problem and there are more players and more things going on there. Good luck on your next matches Lurk :applause:

Yeah, lag has been pretty bad for me too. All my other games work great though.

Just posting an advance notice, I may have to drop out. My internet connection for Brawl in abyssal. I have absolutely no idea why. My internet speeds are good and every other online game works fine, even Mario Kart. If I can't fix it soon then I have to drop out cause matches would unfold like a picture book if I played. Strangely when I play Kado this doesn't happen.

Edit: Turned out it was probably hero. Not sure though.

False alarm. Turned out to be Hero's side that was lagging badly. I thought it was me because lately my side has been having issues and had absolutely no clue why. If it had been me though, then yeah that would of been the last straw and probably would of withdrew.

Yeah...against Joe, that's gonna be a super tough one.
