2001: A Last Movie You Saw Odyssey

Napoleon Dynamite:
Still funny, still quite good, although I did notice how the filmmakers are indeed making fun of the title character. Not a big deal though; the audience is too.

Monty Python's The Meaning Of Life:
Tries a bit too hard at times (and not hard enough at others), but still has a few good laughs and is recommended for it's absurdity.

Jiminy Glick in La La Wood:
Not as disastrous as the reviews say. Every scene has laughs, but they're all slight. Basically, it's about the same quality as his show, so if you liked that you'll like this.

Tom Hanks in: Magnificent Desolation: Walking On The Moon 3-D
Pretty fun stuff, but ends too quickly and shouldn't have had the stupid little girl subplot.

Basically, 4 pretty good (about 7/10 each) movies.
I watched Visitor Q on Friday. I really, really, really wish I hadn't.
Why? Your sides still hurt from laughing?

I unfortunately watched the following shitty movies the past few days:

Undefeated
Snipes
Zig Zag
Deadbirds
Mean Machine (wasn't too bad, but didn't realize it was a direct rip of the longest yard)
Hitchhiker's Guide... (interesting, but stupid)

I also watched the new Amityville Horror and Anacondas (anaconda 2). Those were actually pretty good, then again that may only be because of the crap it was put up against.

Red

AKA Rouge, the final, and best, film in Kieslowski's Three Colors Trilogy. A masterpiece, beautifully shot and acted, featuring a wonderful meditation on the interconnectedness of life. And it's got lots of red.

have you read hitchhiker the book? it's not bad, but imo the movie was boring as hell, with some shitty actors to boot. i enjoyed the previews more than the movie lol.

yeah The Meaning of Life was fing weird, but had some funny moments, like Mr. Creosote. the Life of Brian's hilarious, almost as good as the Holy Grail.

Shrek 2 last night [never seen it, it has been on the DVR recorded from HBOHD for about five months.] Pretty funny, but somewhat predictable, and lowbrow at times.

Robots Sat night. About the same opinion as Shrek, though I think I liked Shrek 2 better. I liked the 'look' of Robots better.

HHGTtG: I watched this a few weeks ago. It has been a while since I have read the books or listened to the radio play. I was not disappointed in the movie [except for Zaphod's second head, I didn't like that], but I guess having read the books multiple times, it was a case of 'been there, done that.'

I like to think of Life of Brian as the classy, well-made comedy, while Holy Grail is the rough around the edges gutbuster.

Crash - ugh, I'm surprised the director can even stand upright with that overly heavy hand of his.

Amityville Horror (2005) - was fairly surprised that it was actually decent, fairly creepy in many places, but the overuse of *boo* type scares kinda deflates any suspense that had built up.

Carrie

An excellent horror movie, probably one of the best I've seen. Sissy Spacek is outstanding, the pacing and suspense are both really well done, and, man, that last half hour is just crazy awesome.

Tale of 2 sisters.
a korean horror movie, it was pretty lame but the good part was that i watched it with cute japanese girl

Blast From the Past. A damn fine movie, and one that I don't remember seeing in theatres. As always, Chris Walken is great.

Dr. Stranglove or: The Incredibly Long Title

It was good, but I didn't feel it was great. I'd probably have to watch it one or two more times to fully get it.

Wrong, it is great. Actually, it's probably my favorite from Kubrick. No small feat, that.

 I said I'd give it another shot. ;)

Wallace & Gromit in the Curse of the Were-Rabbit

This was a great movie! Thanks to the CAGs that recommended this. I'm picking this up when it hits DVD. Also, I might have to pick up the DVD they released recently if the short films are as enjoyable as this.

Haven't seen the movie yet, but the shorts are quite enjoyable, especially The Wrong Trousers

Thanks. I might have to add it to my shopping list in the near future.

Yes yes, I know. But you shouldn't have to wait until then to know you were wrong. ;)

The first time I saw it was actually in a history class back in high school.

Fine, I won't watch it then. I'll go watch Boondock Saints then and maybe Pulp Fiction once that's done.

Have you seen them before? Please say yes. I don't know if I can tolerate your existence if you say no.

Haven't posted in this thread in a while but I've seen a bit since so I don't remember what I put down and I'm too lazy to search for all the old movies I've already said so without further ado:

A Bittersweet Life
Friend
Serenity
Wallace & Grommit
Flight Plan *ugh*
Two for the Money
Waiting *funny as hell*
Corpse Bride
A History of Violence *fuckin' fantastic*
