come on Casey, you're better than that...
First and foremost Rip won a title at U Conn, and an NBA Championship last year, I'm trying to think of Ray Allen's championships... and nothing comes to mind. While Allen is undoubtedly the better player, Rip's success speaks volumes for what the man is capable of. Second, outside of Allen Iverson, I don't think there's anyone in the league that is as fast as Richard Hamilton. Bowen is a solid perimeter and one-on-one defender, let's see how he enjoys chasing Rip through a couple of Wallace screens.
It doesn't matter anyway, Rip doesn't have to do more than get about 15 a game for Detroit to win the series.
And to say Ben hasn't done shit is just assinine. Have you actually watched the play-offs? Ben had hit his CAREER high in points in the first round, and has continued on to average 10 ppg and 12 rbs. The only reason his numbers were down in the last series was because he was playing against a Snack. Duncan is nearly 100 pounds lighter than O'neal, Ben is gonna push him all over the place.
Anyway you read that wrong I said Wallace boys, because the reality is there's only 1 Tim Duncan. Duncan will do what Duncan will do. He's gonna get 20 and 10+ a game, but at the same time he's not going to get much help from Nesterovich (or as you called him "some scrub center") meanwhile Rasheed and Ben will go to work and win the stat battle down low.
Detroit is too much for San Antonio. I honestly think had Rashard Lewis played, the Sonics may be in the Finals right now instead. As it stands San Antonio was able to prove to Phoenix that if you don't play defense, you're not winning an NBA Championship. Detroit plays defense.
This will be a brutal final, but the Pistons are taking it in 6 or less.[/QUOTE]
All I am saying is thinking he is going to run circles around someone who has stopped two of the most explosive players in the league is a little out there. Shawn Marion is one of the quickest, most explosive players in the league and he could not score at all. He is a guy who they never even run set plays for because he gets his no matter what.
Also I would not be suprised if Bowen asks to guard Prince considering how has probably been their best/ most consistent player throughout the playoffs. If you can shut him down, good things will happen. Hamilton may have been the star of the series, but without Prince they never would have been in many of the games they were in.
and I watched almost every game in the Indiana series and the Miami series and stick by my statement about Wallace. Everyone of those sports analyst guys where wondering where he went. He was letting scrubs like Jeff Foster completely dominate him on the boards, and Jermaine O'Neal was hurt and still getting his on the block (he didn't do the greatest job, but considering he was gutting out an injury he did a damn good job). Not saying he did not play better in the Miami series, but to think he is going to come out and do something worth a flip is a little more than I am willing to give him.
and while there may be two Wallace's, as long as Muhammed stays out of foul trouble, they can contain them.
Also it is not like the point Scrubking is making is not completely valid. The last two years they were never tested by a high quality team that did not have a major component injured. They need to beat the Spurs for me to think that they are for real
