Darko is one lucky motherfucker. From his draft year hes the only one that gets to go the finals without doing anything. He must make Bron Bron feel like shit.
wow.... Horry was amazing tonight, who else saw that dunk?!!?
Oh yeah. That will be on Sportscenter top 10 for sure.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you your goat:

Rule #1 about playing any team with Robert Horry: You DO NOT leave Robert Horry open for a three pointer, EVER.

I dont know, SC seems to despise the NBA. I wouldn't be surprised if they played Baseball tonight before NBA Fastbreak (they have done it all through the playoffs) and if Robert Horry's skeet-causing dunk would crack the top 5. He is an ace though...

Oh also, this series is done IMO. I've said since the series started that if SA can get one game in Detroit this series is over and I stand by it.

Did you make that?
Unfortunately, no. In searching for an image of Sheed, I came across it. Apparently it was from a photoshop challenge on Fark
You mean that charge?
that was not a charge it was a blocking foul plain and simple. There is a circle near the basket and any charge that takes place within it is a blocking foul

Yeah, the angle shown from behind the basket shows it better. Rip was outside the circle but didn't square his body with Horry's drive. Rip caught his side. Rip also jumped into Horry instead of going straight up.

:applause:

Finally a competitive Finals game!!! I must say though some of that officiating was not the greatest in the parts I saw (halfway through the third until the end). It didn't effect the outcome in anyway, but some calls on end were pretty ticky tack and on the other they weren't making any calls.

Horry was a stud! How could they continue to leave him open? If there is one guy I am not leaving with a 2 point lead and less than 10 seconds remaining, it's him! I guess since he hurt his shouldder earlier they thought he wouldn't be much of a threat. Especially after that free throw.....maybe he was playing possum and missed on purpose. Duncan finally played well on the road, but he almost blew the game with his free throw shooting and then his poor play in OT. He's luck Horry was there to save his ass at the end.

Actually, the rules state that you don't have to be squared or have your feet still. You have to show anticipation for the ball-handler's move, which Rip had. He was outside the circle, and it sure didn't look like he jumped at all to me, especially into Horry. I still say it was a charge. But it doesn't really matter, because they still should have won. But nooooooooo, Sheed had to leave Horry wide open for three. Whethe ryou think he's injured or not, he is the best clutch shooter not named Nick Van Exel in the last ten years.

It wasn't a charge because Rip stepped in front of Horry when Horry was going full speed and almost already into the air. By rule, the defender has to hold his position long enough for the defender to have time to change directions. Rip didn't give Horry enough space, he stepped in front of Hory just a split second before Horry left the ground.

Oh, and I was right, Horry's whole performance (mind you this was in the Finals in OT) was #8 on SportsCenter's top plays. The rest were regular season baseball games. And after SC they said that Baseball Tonight was next but played SC again, anyway they piss me off.

yep. He was in the circle and then ran up to undercut him after he made his move (I know I saw him in the white line, I didn't see him shift up past it, which is why I thought the foul was called)

either way you can't start sliding up on someone going full speed and expect them to stop like whiteboy said

And I suppose it wasn't a charge in game 1 or 2 (I forget which) when Ginobili ran right through a stationary Ben Wallace beyond the 3 point line?

Rip has to establish a postion that Horry would have to go through. The replay under the basket clearly shows that Rip did not do that. Rip did jump off the floor just before impact. Horry grazed Rip's shoulder at most. Rip was not in the direct path that Horry was going to. That will be called a block everytime. I watched it in slow-motion several times already.

I don't even remember what happened in those games. If you know of a clip I'd like to see it though. I wouldn't be surprised if it was because Ginobli is reckless when attacking the basket. I do see you are from Michigan though....;)

Horry'd dunk being a charge or not is debatable, what WAS a charge was Rip's drive to the basket and push on Parker to take the last shot of the game. Meanwhile cutting right behind Rip on his leftside was a WIDEfuckINGOPEN Tayshaun Prince. Had Rip not been determined to take the last shot, he may have dropped the ball off to Prince for an open shot or possibly a game winning dunk.

Oh and I turned that Sheed pic into my wallpaper... I can't believe he left Horry that open.

at the beggining of the finals i said the spurs were gonna win in 6, and it looks like a high possibility that they will

:applause: It's nice to see a Detroit fan admit that was an offensive foul on Rip at the end. There were actually 2 times they could have called him on that play. He also traveled with the famed NBA two steps and jump stop. Everyone in the NBA gets away with that thpugh. ;)

DETRIOT BASKETBALL!

Can't stop the reigning champs. Last year was no fluke they are the real deal. Robert Whorey just slowed them down.

I hate the Pistons after the malice in the palace, yet I have to give it up to them for making it a series. Ben Wallace really suprised me, as he played great and showed a lot of heart when most of the others on his team played horribly

That's no reason to hate them. It was the fans, not the players.

I watched tonights game (first NBA game I've watched since last year) I thought it was fairly entertaining. I didn't really care who won but I came away thinking.. boy That Tim Duncun is good but awfully boring to watch!

That's Tim Duncan in a nutshell. You love what he does for your team (25 pts, 14 rebs, etc.) but he is the most boring NBA superstar EVER.

Don't worry guys, I'm on this one... I'll come back Sunday and let you all know if I find Chauncey Billups, cuz he certainly wasn't in San Antonio tonight :(

Check the bottom of Lake Eerie. And if he isn't there now, make sure sure he ends up there.

I can't go that far, Chauncey is the man. He just picked a hell of a game to have an off-shooting night. Of course I'm sure you can attribute that to Bowen's defense, and Rip and Tay's lack of offense without Bowen on either of them.

I dunno, he took that 3 off the inbounds pass that got blocked by Bowen, even though they had nearly a full shot clock. And he didn't get Rasheed the ball often enough, even though Sheed can shoot over Tim Duncan with ease. I liked Chauncy just fine before, but after tonight's performance, I don't care what happens to him. He might not have turned the ball over much, but he made some very poor decisions that there are no excuses for.

That's Sheed's own fault for not getting the ball. The moron takes threes all the time, despite the fact that he can score down in the paint at will. I guess he forgets that it's that easy for him to shoot over Duncan, probably short term memory loss from smoking too much weed.

The nine point lead is what's really killing me though.

Anyway, hope you guys enjoyed these finals cuz this is probably what we're gonna get for about 3 of the next 5 years or so.

interesting stat line for you all... Detroit MADE 31 shots to San Antonio's 29...

Spurs were 7/11 from 3 land, to Detroit's 2/14...

:whistle2:k hmm wonder why we didn't win...
