You 49er fans need to wake up... Nolan was a quality guy and a decent coach... the real problem here is York... until he sells the 49ers, our team will be a pile of bile...

I guess it's Nolan's fault Alex Smith was drafted? They hired him without hiring a GM and he had no choice but to take that sack of shit. He was behind the 8-ball from day 1.
Hell yeah. I was so happy when I saw the "breaking news" on ESPN. Hopefully Singletary can turn this team around, though he will definitely need some time.
Yes, The Samurai Singletary for head coach!

Firing Nolan isn't going to suddenly make the 49ers a playoff team but it's a good start. Nolan did plenty of stupid shit and should have been fired during the off season.
I'm so jealous of SF right now.

Why can't Marvin Lewis get shitcanned?
because the Cincy owners are Steeler fans..lol
I guess they're horrible, but that doesn't mean that they don't have a good team leading the pack. I imagine Denver's coming out with the AFC West title as they've got after tonight: Miami, Cleveland, Atlanta, Oakland, and New York Jets over the next five weeks after their bye next week. I imagine Arizona will have the easy road to the playoffs if everybody stays healthy and they don't lose the momentum they've got right now.
right now it doesn't look like anyone wants to win the AFC West..lol

i think he did.. just the tip.. but it is enough to make gripping the ball tough.. he might be back in the 2nd half, but i'm not sure..

nolan is gone. cant say ill shed a tear, but mid season coaching changes always confuse me. the 49ers had to know they werent a play off team, they should have fired him before the season or let him finish it out and see where they stand at the end.

A decent coach.......nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

A decent coach wouldn't make dumbass challenges.

A decent coach wouldn't throw his QB under the bus.

Correction: A decent coach wouldn't throw his whole team under the bus.

A decent coach makes half-time adjusments....

A decent coach doesn't use Manny Lawson on Special Teams

A decent coach doesn't let his controlling ways let Norv Turner go

A decent coach doesn't waste time-outs like their candy...

I could go on and on.....trust me as a 49er fan I thought Erickson was ass.....but this guy was a fuckin' joke...

Oh....a DECENT COACH DOESN'T CARE MORE ABOUT WEARING A fuckING SUIT THEN PLAY-CALLING
this week is killing me... chicago, denver, green bay all on buy.

better than them selling.. :)

This.
If you think Nolan is a good coach, you need to get your head examined.
I just traded away Tony Romo for Plaxico. I have Jay Cutler as my back-up. Good deal?
Yes, Dallas is in shambles right now and will struggle for the rest of the year.

Lets see if this week doesnt screw me over as much as the last 2 weeks. Drew Brees is back to form though which is nice. My WR is whats killing me though....its what happens you let your friends draft for you beacuse you are at work.

Is the Saints Chargers game not in America?

I know it sounds crazy but for some reason I am getting this vibe from this game like its in Europe for some reason.

Also, it seem that everyone in the stands are wearing the most completely random jerseys. Chargers/Saints are playing but I see Bears, Panthers, Colts, Pats and Titans jerseys.

Ahhh, thanks. I knew something was up. Even though I dont follow the Saints I know what the super dome looks like.

Also DREW BREES FTW. He is the only thing really keeping me alive this week.

Is it me, or does it seems players losing helmets in NFL games are becomming epidemic?

Occasionally you would see a helmet knocked off. But I've seen helmets fly off in every game I've watched this year. Sometimes two or three times a game.

And I know some commentators on the post game shows have commented on the issue this year too. I can't remember which commentator.

They said during one of the games this year that it's something the league is going to look into during the offseason.

Its simple. I dont know if you have ever played football, if you did you would remember that helmets come with a 2 button strap that keeps your helmet on your head. In high school they force you with the strength of a thousand lawsuits so you you dont get hurt.

But...when you are a pro you can do whatever the hell you want so if you watch most players dont strap both clips...just the outer one so when they get hit a certain way (basically anything that makes their head jerk) their helmets fly off.

Also if you ever noticed NFL players rarely ever wear leg pads or cups because it slows you done.

Also helmets are mainly flying off this season due to getting blocked under the pads. The pads will get pushed up high enough thus knocking the Helmet off.

God that Drew Brees jump pass was pretty. Just pretty. So pretty it disgusted at madden as you cant throw 90% of real life passes in that game.
The NFL needs to stop with these out of the country games or at least only have them during the preseason.
I agree with you. Didnt NFL Europe fail? I dont get how you can push American football so much but when the NFL Europe League you already have set up fails so badly.

I just dont get it. I am also not a fan of making the season longer. 17 weeks is good enough for a NFL season a good 20% of the players wont make it through that and you want to add 2 more games to please Europe?

Bullshit.

That's damn right that Steve Smith's TD stands after that review, as his heel never touches the ground, at least not with conclusive evidence of otherwise.

Ugh this unsportman like penalty crack down is complete bullshit.

No Fun League is getting out of hand.

Getting so that you cant even shake a guys hand and say good play without a flag. Let them boys have a little fun for christ sake.

These refs are awful. They hike the ball to Cassel, in the kneel formation. He doesn't kneel, and they blow the whistle on him. Bellicheck flipped out.
The NFL needs to stop with these out of the country games or at least only have them during the preseason.
Agreed.
Ugh, I want to stab pens in my ears every time I hear Shannon Sharpe talk. Fire this idiot please.
Yes, God yes. No one with a speech impediment (or general speaking issues) like he has should have that kind of job. Even Michael Irvin wasn't as bad as Sharpe, and that is saying something. Weird too because he brother Sterling is someone I can at least listen too without wondering how he got that job.

For the longest time since Vernon Davis was drafted, I had in my sig "Join the Trade Vernon Davis Group!"....

Millions scoffed at my ideas......but has today cemented it?

Vernon Davis walked off the field.......

Rebuilding here we come!
Didn't Singletary send him to the locker room instead of him just walking off?
From Starkey and Plumber the TV totally contradicts what happened.

Apparently VD got pissed off and walked to the locker room to cool off.....Singletary apparently didn't tell him to leave...
