Wow, Mr. backhand high (Clowe) actually wins it a second time. I think he's 4 for 1000 in shootouts now. lol

Anyway, again nice that Phx got another point.
I love when the Coyotes play the Sharks, they usually play an entertaining game against one another.

Aren't we even or something in our series this season? You guys have been puttin up a good fight. Well, you and LA. Nice to see you guys above the SARS and fucks.
I upgraded my seats from the bleachers to behind 1st base. Should be a good one, the Bruins and Flyers both won big tonight.
Ugh... Where the hell do you park your car there? lol

Man. The bruins just almost scored from center ice short handed. I don't think I'd be able to watch a hockey game at Fenway Park though. The closest seat is like...100 feet away from the glass. No thanks.

Winter Classic was a blast... I severely underestimated how cold it would be, only wore a sweater under my jersey and no gloves. The Bruins were losing for most of the game, the Flyers fans were dirty, obnoxious people, and I was pissed off and shivering for the majority of the time. But it was all worth it as soon as Mark Recchi tied the game.

fuck those Flyers fans. fuck them right in their asses. They talked entirely too much shit with a 1 goal lead and quickly left the building as soon as Sturm scored, all the Bruins fans stayed to see Timmy Thomas get named to Team USA and just to generally hang out and celebrate.

You could hear the Flyers fans early in the game but we went nuts when Recchi scored and they couldn't be heard at all over us again.
Where do you all think Kovalchuk will end up?
hard to say, theres two possibilities i see... (i name these places assuming any cap issues would be resolved) a cup contender that wants a rental. ie washington, boston. or a team that is on the verge of breaking through and would sign long term. ie los angeles, vancouver. but honestly, i can see just about any team in the NHL willing to move salaries and or draft picks for him because kovalchuk is a stud.

My step father has mentioned to me on a couple of occasions that Kovalchuk has said that he would want to come to the Montreal Canadiens.

I hope it is true :bouncy:

It's cool, the Queens really did need the points more than we did. Anyway, to add insult to injury I was at the game and our section won Chipotle gift cards. I hate that place... (Think Southpark) Oh yeah... and my grandmother died today too.

Agreed. He could be the one who pushes a team from contender to front runner. The problem is Atlanta is going to want REAL players in return. I read something yesterday about Chicago being a possible destination since they've got good young talent in contracts that don't expire for a couple years. They've got cap problems coming soon and a rental might be a good solution, but should they mess with a team thats humming along pretty good?

I don't see it happening but who knows. Moving from Atlanta to Montreal whew. Talk about two different hockey markets!

Sorry to hear about your Grandmother.

Thanks, it gets better... Later last night I found out my best friend's grandma died too.

Anyway, sorry to bring down the thread. Continue with normal programing now.

Has anyone been watching the world juniors championship? The gold medal game just ended, and the U.S. ended Canada's 5 year reign as champions.

What a great game. Team USA goes of 5-3 with 5 minutes remaining , and Team Canada's Jordan Eberle scored 2 goals in 1:14 to tie it up and send it to overtime, where Team USA pulled it out.

I've been following it the whole way, though I didn't catch all of tonight's game since the Bruins were on at the same time.

It went down similarly to their previous game on new year's eve, USA had a lead late in the 3rd and Canada came back to force OT. In that game, Canada won in the shootout, but USA scored in OT tonight. Great game and a big upset.

I didn't watch it, I was watching the Coyotes and Suns games. I knew what happened though because the Coyotes were playing Edmonton and the crowd started going bananas when they announced Canada had tied the game.

Thanks to the LetsGoKings forums and a friend of mine who has the paid membership there (I'm on free membership), I'll be attending tonight's Kings vs. Wings game in a luxury suite. Should be great.

Jimmy Howard of the Wings stole 2 points tonight. He was fantastic! The Kings have themselves a good young team.

In other Wings news Zetterberg & Cleary returned to the lineup and Holmstrom broke his foot and will miss 3-4 weeks.
lol, do those guys not drink milk or what?
Nicklas Lidstrom doesn't drink milk. He's a cyborg. ;)

tell me about it. jimmy howard is the savior of my fantasy team. i picked him off waivers and he has been great. really helped me out with my goaltending after emery went down and mason being in a sophomore slump.

that being said, i hope he chokes saturday night. go sharks.
That was a lot of bleeding for just "hitting the ice".
i dont know the last time youve skated, but falling on ice if like falling on concrete. and you saw how hard he hit the ground, try doing that on a basketball court full speed face first.

It's not like people haven't been hit or fallen down before. I've never seen it happen and then the guy bleeds like he's a faucet. I guess maybe I'd understand if I had a little better/closer view...

you have to hit the ice just right. think of it this way, when you watch boxing or mma (assuming you do), people get hit the face over and over and they dont always bleed. but eventually theyre going to get hit just right and their head will split open and bleed.

It's just the amount of gushing. It's almost like he got his head sliced open by a skate not hit his head. Although, on second look at the vid he did get hit pretty hard and slammed to the ground.

yeah he hits the ice with a lot of force, and he hits it face first, nothing to break his fall. like i said, fall face first in concrete that hard i promise youll be gushing blood too.

Yeah, I know a hit on the ground with just your head and it will be more than gushing blood, but I would've thought that helmet had a little protection. I'm thinking if anything the helmet some how cut him. Other than that, I still don't see how you could come out gushing that much. Oh well. At least he's ok hopefully.

Around three years back Jason Williams got smoked on a hit by Raffi Torres very much like that. His head was bleeding the same way. Never good to see.

BC vs BU @ Fenway Park tonight at 7:30 on NESN and the NHL Network. Biggest rivalry in college hockey, outdoors... Should be a great game. Plus, its snowing, not heavily but its a little windy.
It's ok, the Sharts didn't really need that game either...
The Wings did and played like it. Probably the best all around 60 minute game they've played this season.
Well if you didn't see the hawks game tonight dont bother looking it up on espn. damn Huet couldn't stop a fuckin puck to save his life.
Well in all fairness neither could Backstrom.

^didn't realize he was still around playing.

I thought Phx would've had a chance but if you continue to make bonehead moves like putting in La Suck in you deserve to lose. I'm sorry we maybe bad but that's a pretty big insult.

Coyotes just used LaBarbera because Bryzgalov has struggled the past couple of games. For instance, the last game Bryz let 4 goals in on 15 shots against the NY Islanders.

Anyway, Coyotes had their chances but you can't go 0-7 on the power play and expect to win the game. And the Sharks did play excellent defense, Nabokov made some sick saves.
