2009-10 NHL Thread- Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup Champions

There's Versteeg, being a douche like always. Hahaha.

Seriously, I think him and chris Pronger are my two most hated players in the NHL.

They're young guys so I'm not going to go off on them. The Wings of the late 80's early 90's did the same stuff. Kocur, Probert, & Klima were no saints. Lucky for them there weren't camera phones back then. Patrick "20Cent" Kane should know better by now though. Versteeg well the only thing about him I like is that he has a short temper and seems to take dumb penalties against the Wings.

That's not too surprising about Giguere, since he was just rotting away on the bench behind Jonas Hiller. But another report said Giguere would be assigned to Toronto's AHL affiliate.

^Well... at least they got a point to keep the SARS at bay.
Phaneuf and JS Giguere to the Maple Leafs. Wow.http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_y...F?slug=ap-mapleleafs-trades&prov=ap&type=lgns
The Maple Leafs also traded goalie Vesa Toskala(notes) and Jason Blake(notes) to Anaheim for Giguere, who became an expensive backup after the Ducks signed No. 1 goalie Jonas Hiller(notes) to a four-year extension Saturday.

LMAO! So the fucks now have a shittyer goalie? but they signed shitty Hitler? NICE.

...and Calgary shipped Jokinen to the Rangers for Kotalik. Some other low lifes were included in the trade as well.

don't know but the general noise is that the Rangers are the happy people as Kotalik and the other guy was a disappointment. The worst thing that could happen there is that Jokes doesn't do much better. Flames fans don't feel like this trade will be much of a benefit.

If things go well Ville Leino, Brad May, Derek Meech and or Brett Lebda will all be dealt or waived by the Wings before the Olympic break. Coming off IR replacing them will be Tomas Holmstrom, Andreas Lilja, and Johan Franzen. Sooner the better is all I can say.

Lebda is the only person off that list that I see being dealt in the near future. May is not leaving this season (mandatory fighter position), Meech can play offense or defense so I don't think that we want to get rid of him this year. Leino... I guess he irritates you huh? Personally I think it's too early to give up on him.

Three of the four are gone for sure. People have to be moved to create cap space. There's no getting around it. Franzen can't even suit up until people are moved. Drew Miller and Patrick Eaves sure aren't going anywhere as both have played beyond expectations and will be cheap easy restricted re-signs after this season.

This is an ass backwards comment but.. I'd actually prefer the Wings get one point at least since the damn SARS won today. With that said... I'll probably regret it and so far with the Sharks scoring it's not looking good. lol

Kronwall lost his friggin skate and Thornton scores his second of the game. This game could be a disaster for the Wings.

Nice win Wings, looks like you lucked out and they heard me by bringing in the Sharts as well as took the day off.

Edit:
Jeezus Christ.. Clutterfuck got his ass beat twice by Ott. Sad...
Wings took it in the rear from the Ducks tonight.
Ducks are only 3 points behind the Wings in the standings.

I want them to make the playoffs, but I won't be surprised if they don't. They're not playing like a club who is interested in making a cup run, and I'm pretty past the point of blaming it on injuries now. Franzen isn't going to carry our team when he comes back. He'll be a nice addition...but I think we have more problems with our team than him being gone.
Don't have info on who the Thrashers get yet. Good for Kovaltrick

EDIT:
fromTSN
The Thrashers acquired defenceman John Oduya, forwards Niclas Bergfors and Patrice Cormier and a first round pick.
In my opinion Atlanta got the short end. I don't know much about the Devils these days, but Oduaya is a decent D-man. A quick look at Bergfors stats says he could be something. Cormier don't get me started on that idiot. He almost killed a guy a couple weeks ago. The first rounder is nice, but its not going to be in the top half of the draft.

Don't sell Johan short. Franzenstien is easily the most high powered player any team is adding to their lineup from here out. Remember he only played three games this season and two were Swedish debacles. No he won't carry the team, but he will open up the ice for everyone else a bit.

I do understand what your saying about the lack of urgency though. Once in a while I'd like to see someone lose their cool and show some real emotion.

Yeah that's funny. Wasn't Cormier a first round pick too? I'm sure he'll find his way to Philadelphia the way he throws elbows lol.

Any team that makes a move in the West will probably make the Playoffs, as long as they're the ones who announce the trade. There's a whole lot of stupid going on with GM's lately.

Yes he was. Lou Lamoriello is a friggin genius. Cormier lost his mind lately and the Devils were able to dump him quick.

The only thing I didn't think about is Kovy isn't exactly known for any defense. Should be interesting to see how he fits into the Jersey system.

I'd like to give all the teams that won in the west a big shout out for once again keeping the SARS and fuckS at the bottom. With that said... GO LA!

Edit: Nice Rape at the end LA! LOL

8 in a row for the Kings. At this point, they have to make the playoffs. They can't blow it this season.

Of course, the Olympic break will likely kill all the team's momentum.
Kovalchuk wouldn't sign long term because of fear the team will move... as a Whaler fan, I get it.
kovy is a huge addition for NJ, but now they gotta win the cup. i just dont see him resigning before the off season and winning a cup would probably be good incentive for him to stick around for a few years.

Where the hell could the Thrashers move? Winnipeg? Quebec? Charlotte?

By the way, Leafs officially own the Devils now (weird, huh?) and the Capitals are about to win their 13th in a row. I have a feeling Sunday's game vs. the Pens gets pushed because of the 30 inches of snow D.C. will get.

EDIT: Okay, spoke too soon about the Leafs...LOL

EDIT 2: LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Yeah it was a good game, it will be nice to see the Coyotes in the playoffs for a change... as long as they don't implode like last season.
