i was watching the post game show after and boyle was really beat up about it. he had bloody knuckles on one hand, so he was punching something. and the reporters asking him questions were getting no answers, two word answers. if the sharks can bounce back and win game 4, and boyle in particular does well, then i think the sharks might be in good shape, but if they lose, well its time to think of a catchy name for the curse.
I almost feel bad for the guy, but he's got something like around a 40 million dollar contract and a Cup ring. So I'm pretty sure he'll get over it.
And Wotjek Wolski. (Colorado fucked up, man).
Hard to say. I also thought the Aves gave up on Wolski too quick, but sometimes a change is needed. Look at Pouliot/Latendresse deal. Hell Kyle Quincey would have never turned into the player he is now playing in Detroit. The minutes just weren't there to let him develop.
Also, is it just me or did The Joe seem kind of tame for 20,000+ fans?
I'll be the first to admit JLA isn't the loudest arena by an stretch. Afternoon games also suck. Honestly we've been very spoiled over the last 20 years so people aren't exactly going bonkers for a first round matchup against a team that people really have no hatred towards. Also lets not forget the Yotes played a very good road game scoring early.

Moojuiced told me and others about that Sharks game-losing goal last night while we played NHL 10. When I watched the video, I had to rewind it 3-4 times before I realized what happened.

Canucks at Kings in game 3 tonight. While the first 2 games have been very exciting, I'm hoping the Kings will be able to have a game more like the two teams' last regular season meeting. But I'm not counting on it.

I really wish I could attend a playoff game, but seat prices are ridiculous for anyone who is not a season ticket holder. Single seats are going for $450! Crazy. But at least I have gotten to go to a lot of regular season games over the last 2 years.

All that being said...

That's weird. I know of at least 20-30 people that are flying from Vancouver to go watch the games in LA because the ticket prices are super reasonable (flight out of Bellingham + hotel + ticket = less than a prime seat at GM Place). $450 is more than what we sell tickets for in Vancouver. Those seats must be on the team bench or something.

Anyways, if the Canucks actually play for 60 minutes instead of 20, I think the Kings are in for a surprise.

Good point.

I thought this was interesting, http://puckthemedia.wordpress.com/2010/04/19/nhl-on-nbc-does-pretty-solid-business-this-weekend/

The Sunday broadcast of Phoenix/Detroit drew a 1.5 overnight rating, the highest of any indoor NHL game this season. While this is down (again, fingers crossed with my math) 12% from last year’s Pittsburgh/Philadelphia telecast, which drew a 1.7 rating. The game drew a 13.4 in Detroit, and a 5.3 in Phoenix. That’s right, kids, Phoenix and Boston drew the same local rating for hockey this weekend.

I have season tickets for the Pens and I dont even go to the playoff games. I do buy them but than I sell them and whatever profit I make I put towards my season ticket plan for the next year. The last two years witht the long runs they have made to the finals I have been able to cover about 40% of the next years ticket prices.
It was rough seeing the Blackhawks dominate that game.
Sooo... nobody has a problem paying exorbitant amounts only to watch the game though a big ass Toyota Logo huh... ? wow.

Don't those ads you see on the glass sometimes only appear on TV? I know FSN Detroit had it for one game.
How about them Kings!
Indeed. :)

That was a great game. Both teams played their asses off, just as they did in games 1 and 2. LUOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNGOOOOOOOOOOO!!!~ got lit up for 4 goals on 16 shots, though the defense was poor as well.

I have no idea why it took the guys in Toronto 7 minutes to review the kicked in "goal". I guess they had to review another game first. That was a blatantly obvious kick-in, even though I don't believe it was intentional.

Jack Johnson did well for once and actually earned the first star of the game! The Kings got all 3 stars, and won 5-3. But I was scared till Smyth scored that 5th goal, and then I was really nervous when the Canucks got so many shot attempts with a few minutes left on the clock.

Great game by both teams. This series has been ultra competitive, and either team could have won any of the games at any given time. I'm just glad the Kings are up 2-1, and I'm jealous of my friends Matt, Mel, and Andy for getting to be there.

^lol, Cansucks another place holder year. Awaits predictable shark comeback...
VipFREAK, I think those ads are superimposed like first down lines during NFL games.
ahh, ok I guess. Still I think it's a bad move by Toyota, more advertisement is starting to get irritating.

I didn't watch it, but YAY Queens!

I am so jealous that you guys have Doughty. People always talk about how you need great goaltending to win a cup, but I've always thought that having that one key stud on defense is more important than anything else.

That kid is unreal. Future Norris winner, and I wouldn't be surprised if he leads you guys to a cup or two. He's a Lidstrom 2.0 I'm calling it now. He's going to be the best defenseman of his generation. I'm just glad he's going to be playing for Team Canada in international tourneys.

He is great at a very young age, but eh can't lead the Kings to a cup by himself. They need to keep their core group of players- Doughty, Kopitar, Brown, Smyth, Frolov, Simmonds, Stoll, and Handzus, and trade Jack Johnson and maybe Jonathan Quick (if they're really committed to going with Bernier; I personally like Quick and want him to stay) for a top goal scorer, they could be championship contenders.

it goes without saying, but this is a must win game for the sharks. im off work tomorrow so if they lose ill just drown my sorrows in some booze while i burn my sharks jerseys in a trash can.

I've been planning on getting smashed Wed. my day off anyway so I won't care. Unfortunately, I won't be able to burn my jersey because my parents would probably kill me (santa gave it to me).

yeah i just noticed on espn that the sharks/avs game changed as well from 9est to 10est. but thats fine with me, it means i wont miss any of the first period (get off work at 930est)

The Wings win a Huge game tonight to even the series. Don't let the final score fool you. It was tight for 56 minutes.

Pens go up 3 games to 1 over the Sens.

Preds take game 3 and go up 2 games to 1 in the series with the Hawks.

Flyers are now up 3 games to 1 over the Devils with tonights win.

And.....wait for it............Sharks win and tie the series at 2-2 despite Marleau, Heatley, & No Show Joe not having a single goal in the entire series.

I was able to catch most of the five games last night...I guess that's the one benefit to Canadian cable television. I was thrilled with the Flyers taking a 3-1 lead in the series and get scoring from somebody that's not Carcillo :)

I didn't get to see too much of the later games though, but from what I saw Nashville was all over the Hawks and the Sharks were giving the Avs a lot of problems. So on the highlights this morning Anderson had another 40+ save night and was shocked to see the game went to OT.

Here's hoping the Kings can take a 3-1 lead tonight vs. the Canucks. I'm tired of the announcers praising Luongo. The guy couldn't catch a puck at the Olympics and is proving once again he's not a big game goalie.

Flyers lose Simon Gagne & Jeff Carter for at least 2-3 weeks. Foot surgery for both.

shieryda, How bad did the media rip the Hawks after game 3?

I avoided the media last night and today. But, I would NOT have wanted to be in that locker room after the game. I did see that there some some serious outrage from fans and media, though.

I see now that both Toews and Kane had only 1 shot each, while Hossa and Sharp had 3 each. Oh, yeah. And that penalty shot was fucking BULLSHIT.

didn't Carter score 2 of Philly's goals in the game yesterday? Sucks to lose both those guys, but they are in a pretty good lead in the series.

Period 5 coming up in Boston! First one of the Playoffs.

I'm very happy the Caps won, especially after the abysmal second period. It's a good thing we have more shorthanded goals than power play goals this series.
