2009/2010 NFL Thread - Combine Time - Draft 4/22 -

Wow, the Dallas D saved Folk's ass. How the hell do you hit the upright on a FG that's basically from XP distance?

After that play I thought for sure the Saints were going to win.
I think the Cowboys did the Saints a favor there. Postseason is stressful enough and you don't need the extra pressure of going unbeaten
They did not do the Giants any favors. Dammit.

Dude needs to miss that charter. They should just give him a one way ticket to anywhere but Dallas

Despite it being against Kansas City, Jerome Harrison is a beast that just broke the Browns' all-time record for rushing yards in a game, which was owned by Jim Brown (237) nearly fifty years ago. It's a shame that Jamal Lewis has been keeping this guy off of the field for two years.

We don't get Browns games on the west coast, but when I saw that Cleveland scored 34 pts, I immediately checked the stats. Quinn's got a whopping 60 yards passing, and I almost crapped my pants when I saw Harrison's numbers. Absolutely ridiculous.

Well, it ended up as a pretty good day for the Patriots, who now have a pretty good grasp on the AFC East, which they can clinch with a win or a loss by the Jets (who have Indy and Cincy coming up) and the Dolphins. Now they can spend 2 weeks figuring out how to actually beat a good team.
...the ending of this game really shows that neither team has ANY defense at all.
Still a huge improvement for them to have an offense versus having no offense or defense for half of this year.
Not really sure about this, but whats up with all the Colts hating?
I've hated the Colts pretty much all my life (I've come from Indiana too).

Despite being a Bears fan for a while, I'm very glad to see the Ravens win against them. Now we just badly have to beat the Steelers next weekend.

They have the tiebreaker on the jets just need the fins to lose

Alex Smith kills me with these turnovers and dumb passes. Of course the Panthers had to upset the Vikings last night, making the chances for the Niners to have a top 10 pick less and less now...
yikes they are.. think CJ will make it to 2000 this season?
I do. As a Chargers fan, I am honestly surprised they are doing THIS well. Especially considering how they started off and all of the injuries they have had this season. But it's not about the regular season, it's all about the playoffs...

Harrison's doing well once again as the Browns go for their third straight win.

I hope Derek Anderson actually does well these last two games to wipe the sour taste of this season out of the mouths' of interested parties so we can actually get something in return for him during the off-season. I also hope Mangini sticks around for next year since the team's done well since the Detroit game despite losing a few close games, which is a hell of a lot better than his season started out.

BUCS BEAT THE SAINTS IN OVERTIME!

And with that, the Vikings need to beat the Bears and Giants, and the Saints need to lose against the surging Panthers for the Vikes to take the #1 seed.

Any video on NFL.com of the Stokley "infraction"? That sounds bogus. Dude's always been a stand up player.

Colts fans booed the team off after Painter's first series got stopped. That's pretty rough.

Mercury Morris, you're still (semi) relevant. You may raise your glass and toast Jim Caldwell and Bill Polian. Manning looks ticked. Can't wait to hear the post game interviews.

What a bogus call tossing Stokley. I can understand the penalty for him running down the official, but that was an over reaction by the officiating crew.
Not as easy as you thought it would be, was it?
Chad  Painter at QB certainly makes it more of a challenge. Damn I would've hated to be him. First snaps of your NFL career and you get booed. Classy Colts fans.

Colts fans are the reason why: a.) I am not a Colts fan even though I enjoy watching the team and b.) I hope they get booted in the first round yet again.

A good portion of the people I meet who are fans are pretty well behaved and knowledgeable. It's only a few that confound me.

crazy day of football. Steelers and Jets still alive, Saints and Giants put up horrific stinkers, and no more undefeated teams. It looks like Raheem Morris and Wade Phillips saved their jobs.
Not as easy as you thought it would be, was it?
Do you watch football?? It would have been EASY.... I now applaud the New England Patriots of whom I formerly hated. It's football!!! It's a game!!! Yes, go for it all and by all means be mean and arrogant!!! Crush your opponent and make history.

Manny and Co. were up 15 to 10 when they were pulled.

It's like an analogy here in Vegas. Do I just settle for the flush... or do I dump that 9 of spades and go for the Royal!!!!

The Colts dumped a chance at history and immortality just for the opportunity (not a certainty) of "JUST" being the winner of the next Super Bowl. In the grand scheme of things, it's the proverbial looking over a dollar to pick up a nickel.

They really lost the game when they only scored 9 points in the first half, 15 through 3 quarters with Peyton in the game, and they gave up the TD on the opening kickoff of the 2nd half. They would've had a shot in the 4th quarter, but thats one of the reasons why I'm unimpressed with this Colts team. They've played some very close games against some terrible teams that they should be blowing out.

I was kind of hoping they would go 16-0 and give the Patriots the opportunity to end their perfect season, the Patriots very nearly beat them earlier and the Pats really suck this year. They're certainly not winning the Superbowl this year but that would've been almost as good.

So my bro and I are headed up to Chicago for tonight's game. Forecast: COLD AS SHIT. If we make it through the first half without leaving I will be impressed. I have conflicting interests in the game tonight, if the Bears lose badly Lovie may be fired along with (hopefully) his coaching staff and the worst GM in football Jerry Angelo. I also win $100 if the Vikings cover the 8 pt spread. If the Bears win it's a meaningless win in a bad season filled with lots of suck. Maybe I don't have conflicting interests. :)

I just need any combination from Robbie Gould of : 1 40 yard or more field goal, field goal and extra point, four extra points.... of course, without missing anything from closer than 30 yards.

Anyone have an NFL draft order for 2010 if the season ended today??

Not at all. You don't touch an official. Period. Not only that, but everyone kept calling it accidental. I don't see how. The official is clearly sticking his hand out for a few seconds, and Stokley swipes right at it. I could see if Stokley started swinging, and then the official put his hand up. Either way, you don't touch an official, and you don't definitely don't swing your arms or hands at him.

I was just thinking there needs to be some leeway in way player reactions are handled and Stokley being one of my favorite receivers growing up, I was partial to him. But then that brings in way too many gray areas with officials judging character and players' history.

Yea it's a slippery slope and then you find it being officiated like the NBA. I hate how star players get more leeway on infractions and pick up fouls for the slightest of contact. I want my officials calling it the same all the way around and not paying attention to who the players are.
The Vikes are in trouble. They are going to tank in the playoffs bad and this is coming from someone that cheers for the Bucs.
I just don't get what the fuck is going on. Its like they just have weeks they decide to not even try.

Did Adrian Peterson ever learn how to hold on to a football? How can someone with so much talent be so terrible at holding on to the ball?

I was wondering the same thing.

The Vikes offense wasn't the problem tonight though, it was defense and special teams. They just plain gave up way too many big plays.

Don't blame AP for that fumble. Give 100% of the credit to the defender that was persistent enough to punch that ball out of there.

If I were a Dallas fan, they better hope the Cowboys don't beat the Eagles. I'd much rather face Minnesota or Arizona than Philadelphia or Green Bay.

He has 20 fumbles in 45 career games. I don't care how good the tackle was that stat is terrible. The fact is he does not hold on to the ball properly. When the guy tackled him, he was holding the ball in one hand by his thigh. Tiki Barber had the same problem and he learned to fix it.
