2010-2011 NBA Season Thread

I'll let this speak for itself

I feel pretty good about the Celtics tomorrow, should be interesting. They didn't waste any time scheduling the matchup everyone wants to see.

Tomorrow is going to be awesome. Celtics/Heat should be one hell of a game, even if it is early in the season. I'm excited to see KG, with all this talk of him being "back", I'm hoping its true and he abuses the fuck out of Bosh. I was hoping to see Erden too, but he's on the inactive list.

Man, I love how Stern has made a way for the game to be even shitter? You can now not show any emotion (disguised by saying disrespect) at all towards officials? Thats what the NBA needs more techs in every game.

Both teams look rusty as hell...although boston looks to be a little better. This is going how everyone who actually follows basketball is going. Heat look to be struggling from lack of playing together.

OK here are my notes.

Boston still as strong as ever.
MIA has a lot of rust but a good team.
Jeff Van Gundy should commentate every game.
Barkely is stuff funny as hell.

Seriously, Pierce is such a fucking actor. I know Boston fans love the guy and he can do no wrong. Hell I even admit he is a HOF but he clearly went to the Vlada Divac school of dramatics and got his Bachelors from Professor Manu.

Not only is he known for the most pussy of pussy basketball moves (pump fake jump directly into defender D-wade has done this twice tonight....) he falls over at the very sight of any defender. I.E. Bost had both his hands down by his sides when closing out on the pick...no need to jerk violently backwards when his shoulder brushes you.

Rondo (my opponent's fantasy PG) has 12 assists in the 3rd quarter against the Heat and Stephen Curry (my fantasy PG for tomorrow) is gametime decision to play tomorrow. Good start for my fantasy season.

Hmm, Since when can you get a charge while moving? I know about the out of control offensive foul but I didnt think you can get a charge call while activity back stepping.

Also, another good over dramatic reaction by the Actor. Just gonna lay on the ground for an extra 20 seconds with your hands in the air are ya? If that was Bron people would rush to their keyboards to bitch about him. I never had a problem with him until last years playoffs.

I'm not watching the game, but you actually can. If he was literally just stepping straight backwards and not sliding side to side, then it's offensive.
Damn, Ray Allen's mom is ugly. He better watch out for Delonte West.
this is pure gold:lol:

ohh and how you like the cavs beating on the celtics right after lebron lose to them!!!?!?!

GO cavs!!!!! my dream scenario would be to get in the playoffs as the 8 seed and knockout the heat in the first round!

Celtics-Heat was the highest regular season NBA game on cable, ever.

As for the loss to Cleveland, I expected as much. Its hard to get up for a game against a bad team on the road the night after such a big game in almost a playoff atmosphere. The regular season doesn't mean much to the Celtics anyway, their starters are going to have their minutes limited to keep them fresh.

Gotta love that Cleveland time keeper though, must not have been one of LeBron's cronies because he's still got his job. Only in Cleveland can you take an inbounds pass, almost drop it, and go from holding the ball under your knees to shooting a 3 in under one second.
John Wall, welcome to the NBA.

And they say the eastern finals will be Boston and Miami.... don't sleep on the Magic. :D
Magic are the best team in the east right now.
It's gonna be good to watch them play against the heat tonight!

Magic looked great last night. We'll see how they do against the Heat tonight.

I like the minor changes they've made in getting Duhon and Richardson and giving Bass more minutes in the pre-season and last night than he got last year.

Orlando has to keep going to Howard offensively, Miami can't do anything but foul him. Don't play the perimeter game until they start doubling him.
Anybody else miss Rondo's headband? I know I do.
Sometimes, David Stern is a little overzealous in "cleaning up the league"

Damn, wanted Knicks to get that win, Daniels swiped it from stoudemire at the end there...

Magic getting squashed....

Damn, Laker game in 20 minutes, and the miami game is barely in the 3rd still!?!?!?!

I know right? Those referees must have been so pissed off about Rondo's upside down headband that it was probably the reason they called so many dubious fouls and missed so many blatant calls! Removing it will definitely fix up the problem.
He doesn't need it. Trip-dub with 24 assists. Wow.
Right? Guy was on fire. If he keeps it up, he'll break the single game assist record this season.

That's what the Live and Die by the 3 means. 3rd quarter ICE COLD. It didn't help that Lebron's and Wade's jump shots were all falling.

Was it just me or were the officiating the worse (for both teams) during that game? Do note I realize it wouldn't have had any difference in the outcome. I just personally wish refs would actually be held accountable for terrible officiating.

17 more tonight, along with 9 points and 4 steals and, perhaps most amazingly, 0 turnovers. Dude is bananas.

Rondo is actually the only sports jersey I currently own, bought during his rookie year, and that decision gets wiser by the day.

This is going to be a fun season... They're starting an All Star team and their 2nd unit is made up of lesser team's starters. They're ridiculous right now even without Delonte and Perk.

They're not going to challenge the Bulls for that 72 win record but thats not what they're playing for.

Lakers win again. They look better than last year. Pau is playing great and Odom has really stepped it up. There's no team in the west that can match up, especially once Kobe is back to 100%.

While I can't say the same, I've been a big fan of his since before they won the 'ship in 08. I don't own any jerseys, but I'm pretty sure I'll have one of his by the end of the season.

Also, his assists single handedly won for me last week in my fantasy league. Great pick-up indeed.

I remember a little while back Wildcpac called MSG the best place to play ball. My opinion still stands that it is a dump cause my team's game was cancelled there last night due to the place falling to pieces.

Interesting stat from last night: Lamar Odom became the 10th fastest, and 29th player overall to reach 11,000 points, 6,000 rebounds, and 3,000 assists.

Yes the players the Lakers have picked up make them even more scary as a Suns fan. I thought the Suns played pretty well against them though, considering how big that team is.
