2010-2011 NBA Season Thread

Nice to see the Suns win against the undefeated Atlanta Hawks. I was going to lose it if the Suns gave that game away when they were outplaying Atlanta for most of the game.
Interesting stat from last night: Lamar Odom became the 10th fastest, and 29th player overall to reach 11,000 points, 6,000 rebounds, and 3,000 assists.
Odom is a fucking champion.

Smokes weed all day and kicks it all night.

The dude doesn't even give 100% every night, more like 75%, and he puts up decent numbers. A double double machine, and he doesn't even try.

He'd average a tripe double if he puts in work, but nope, gets by with just double doubles. He's living the good life.

Speaking of jerseys. I only own one and it's Odom #7.

:lol::lol::lol:

Hilarious, but mostly true.

Except he doesn't smoke any more. He replaced that habit with SUGAR/CANDY addiction.:hot:

Hes playing beastly right now. If he keeps this up, he might have to upgrade his Kardasian from Klhoe to Kim.

The Pacers just dropped 54 points on the Nuggets in the 3rd. They shot 20-21 from the floor. The only miss was a Josh McRoberts 3 pointer at the end. They hit their first 20 in a row. That was bonkers. I've never seen anything like it.

It's good for my fantasy team. Collison 29, Dunleavy 31... yay!

Hrm, the Jazz totally rallied from an 18-point deficit late in the 3rd to beat the Magic. I really don't like the Jazz, but they've been pretty impressive lately.

I wonder who the Lakers will lose their first game to. I mean, they've got to lose sometime, right?

The only teams I can see giving them any trouble are San Antonio and Boston. I think they match up really well to every other team. Of course, it'll most likely happen to some shitty team that wont make the playoffs. The lakers of previous years, and their last game against against the t-wolves shows that they tend to slack against bad teams, and quit a lot in the third quarter. They're playing much better this year than previous, and they have the best bench in years, so hopefully things will be different.

Probably the most impressive Back 2 Back regular season wins we will see all season long. +1 respect Jazz.

Awesome double header on TNT tonight.

Lakers trying to go 9-0 tonight against the Nuggets. Not sure which nuggets team will show up - The one that wants revenge after being made a joke by the Pacers, or the one that has given up with Carmelo one foot out the door.

And lets see how the Heat bounce back, and if they can man up against Bostons D and inside power.
Celtics > Heat
this is why they wont win a championship this year

Lakers lost their first game last night. Just like I said previously, they quit in the 3rd quarter when they were up by 14. They made a couple runs to tie the game and take a small 1 or 2 point lead, but they had horrible shot selection by artest and kobe, Pau was visibly tired, and Carmelo got hot towards the end of the 4th.

The lakers are still my favorite to win the west, and I think we'll be seeing a celtics-lakers rematch in the finals.
Again, don't write off Orlando. I still think it will Boston/Orlando in Eastern Finals.
I'd never do that, but as soon as Perk gets back, and if JO/Shaq can be a bit healthy, the Magic have a whole lot to worry about. As long as we can defend him 1 on 1, the Celtics have it.

I definitely wouldn't write off Orlando, or even the Heat. Both of them will be dangerous come playoff time. I do think the Celtics are significantly better than both of those teams right now, and actually stand to improve quite a bit once Perk gets back, like advanced said. Add to that their recent propensity for turning it up a notch in the playoffs, and I'd say they're definitely the best bet to unseat the Lakers, who are still the favorites.
Am I the only person that gets great joy out of watching the Heat struggle? Thats karma for ya Lebron
I think most people do. I hate them even more though cause I am a Knicks fan.

The more I think about it, the more I think that the Heat are going to be a disaster. Those 3 guys just don't fit together. They don't have a low post guy, there's no ball movement... If the three of them don't significantly change their games, especially LeBron and Wade, they're not going anywhere. Bosh is what he is.

I don't think Spoelstra can make them come together, either.

Go Heat! (too much negativity goin on in here)

And lord please no lakers/celtics rematch. .ive had enough of seeing those two

Kevin Love is insane. 27 rebounds with 8 and a half minutes left in the game.

EDIT: Finals stats are 31 points, 31 rebounds, and 5 assists. At least I'm having a little fun watching the Knicks.

seeing Arroyo on the court always makes me laugh, guy looks so lost out there.

I'd rather have Big Z starting then Joel.

But B) great at the Celtics beating them again, but smh at Wade struggling :/ he's on my fantasy team.

No sir, after the train wreck that was "the decision" this is hilarious.

Ya. I just tweeted this but...all these news stories about Greg Oden should really state that he's "done with basketball," not just "out for the season."

I'm not even mad. I suspected something was way the hell wrong when they didnt offer an extension, and they kept saying "no timeline for his return."

The whole Oden thing is really sad at this point.

As for the Heat, when their roster gets healthy they are going to figure it out. I hope they go down in flames but you know no one in the East is going to want to play them in the playoffs - and they are going to get into the playoffs. They seem disappointing now because everyone was penciling them in for 70 wins but that is completely unrealistic.

I can't believe how well the Hornets are doing. It's almost like how my franchises with them over the years in the NBA 2K series since 2K9 go.
My Knicks still suck. I really wish they would fire Mike D already.
That is the result of putting all their eggs in one basket trying for Lebron.
My Knicks still suck. I really wish they would fire Mike D already.
You mean Mike No D? Even though the Knicks still need to work on a lot, I think they're definitely better than last year. I miss D Lee but Amare is an upgrade, Felton is an upgrade at point, and Gallinari seems better this year. Only thing worse is the bench.

Agreed, but I don't think the bench is that bad. I think Mozgov and Fields have been pretty good.

Anyone catch the Bulls/Suns game tonight? Great game, double OT. Bulls came back after being down over 20 points. Noah was on fire tonight. They have a really good team this year.

Cavs win, Heat lose. It was a good day.

I imagine the superfriends just figure they can put things on cruise control until playoff time. I really can't see them matching the intensity of a Boston or LA team down the stretch that both have years of consistant starting lineups under their belts.
