That was one of the most amazing games I've seen.

Hopefully being in person tomorrow for Game 7 with Carpenter pitching will be even more amazing. Or depressing, if the Cardinals lose it.

That's my keeper league 3B, baby!
who the hell is gonna pitch tomm after all that
Carpenter for the Cards and Harrison for the Rangers. Washington has confirmed Harrison multiple times, and if you believe anyone other than Carpenter is pitching tomorrow you're crazy. Or LaRussa is on too many pain meds if he's putting out Edwin Jackson or Kyle Lohse as game 7 starter.

If it was me, I'm putting Holland out there but Washington doesn't want to throw his guy under the bus. Gotta respect that.
Jack Buck is rolling in his grave.
Whatever. Let his son pay tribute to him. He did the same thing with clinching call in 06.

How much did those tickets run you?

I'd like to know as well, been looking all over for a shot at tickets under $300 to no avail.. and that's standing room.

Can't believe they blew it tonight. Cruz is injured and questionable for tomorrow. Not looking good. ONE STRIKE AWAY from the win not once but TWO TIMES TONIGHT!! Spectacular game tonight, unless you happen to be a Rangers fan.. Devastating.

Also, I was just watching Catching Hell the other night, the ESPN documentary on the Bartman game in Chicago, and they put a lot of stuff in there about the 86 Series with Buckner.. couldn't help but notice similar circumstances tonight.
How much did those tickets run you?
I'd mention that they're free, though that would get me scorned and yelled at.

Guess I get scorned and yelled at, as they're work-purchased season tickets that they raffle away to the employees through the course of the year. I missed chances at the NLDS and NLCS tickets, though lucked out on this one.

Could easily have been non-tickets as well if things went differently.

It was a very sloppy game with five errors and additional defensive and offensive mistakes on both sides, though Game 4 and Game 5 did go the other way with other odd ball items like we had with this game.

So jealous man. That's awesome. Enjoy, I'm sure it will be a blast. Hopefully some day I'll get to a world series.. Definitely on my bucket list as well as visiting every major league ballpark, I'm up to 8 after this season. Actually went to a game in Saint Louis in September when they virtually had no chance at a playoff spot. Went up in the arch and everything, it's a great city. Looking forward to going back in a few weeks for a Blues game.

Literally feel hollow right now. One strike away... twice. I thought when Hamilton hit that two run shot, it was destiny and I was finally going to see the team I've loved since I was about six finally win a championship. I was at game five of the World Series last year and watched the Giants celebrate on the home field. I felt pretty awful then. If Texas loses game seven... I can't even begin to think how miserable I'll be.

Cruz is hurt. Napoli is hurt. Hamilton is still hurt. This team hasn't lost back to back games since late August. It's time to see just how resilient they really are.

Damn it. Everywhere I look I see how it was such a great game last night. I wanted to watch but couldn't due to work. You can bet your ass I'm watching game 7.

I was so close to turning off the TV and going to bed when Holland scored to make it 7-4 in the top of the 7th. I'll be dead all day, but it was so worth it to stay awake.

That's exactly when I turned it off. Man what a game I missed.

Is it possible to have two winners in a WS? I would have killed to be in the stadium last night because I bet it was ELECTRIC. I have never, ever yelled at my TV or laughed so much in my life for a baseball game. This is the stuff legends are made of and I'm so disappointed Texas didn't win right then and there. Game 7 can't possibly top it and man what a finish it would have been for the Rangers.

Whatever team wins, it's the fans who won this WS.

Bases loaded, 3-2 count. Team down by one. Feldman throws probably the greatest pitch of his career. Half on the plate and half off. Amazing pitch in what will be the pinnacle moment of his career.

Except it's called a ball and St. Louis scores a run.

And people think this is a good thing. I don't get it.
Well, looks like the Cards are going to win it all.
The icing on top of the shit cake that was this season.
The icing on top of the shit cake that was this season.
Well, its not like Texas had its chance, you'll have to hope the Rangers can score 4 in the 9th inning.

Eh, Rangers don't need a ring or trophy to be WS champs at this point. I think they've proved they were the better team on numerous occasions and this game 7 is a joke given Ron bet it all on game 6. They were already running on empty, so when they lost it last night it was a done deal. Napoli is MVP IMO playing on a sprain like that; what a trooper.

Grats Cards on your 11th win. Just too bad Rangers still have yet to enjoy such glory.

I still can't believe they choked like they did. This feels worse than the Finals in 06 because it least there the refs could be blamed for phantom calls. The Rangers did this to themselves.

Congrats to the Cards.

As I said earlier, no way the Rangers won game 7 on the road after the epic multiple choke job last night.

Congrats to the Rangers on being the new Braves. Baseball has a new whipping boy for the team who can't get it done on the biggest stage.

I rank this series just above the 2001 World Series and that was a great series.

Now I'm excited. The season is over and now the Cubs can start rebuilding. It will take us a couple years to get back to October but I think we are on the right track.

It was the Braves collapse that allowed St. Louis in the playoffs to begin with. :p

As for the Rangers, the AL West is pretty weak, so getting back to the playoffs shouldn't be that hard next year.

Just realized 3 years in a row whoever beats the Phillies ends up winning the whole thing.

Good Shit Cards!

lol @ people blaming Tony Romo in other boards

fucking Selig

"Congratulations to David -looks down- Freese on your World -looks down- Series win and your Most Valuable -looks down- Player -looks down- Award

I feel the same way.
All on the Rangers.

i havent posted much since the playoffs began but i have been watching. This has been one of the best World Series i have seen in the last 10 years. Great game.

Man i feel bad for the Rangers...two years in a row and coming home with nothing...trust me i know how you guys feel. I am a Buffalo Bills Fan after all. They have this off season to fill out the Starting pitching holes. I think they should keep the bullpen. I am sure they will develop better for next year's run.

As for the Cards, hats off to them. They were a team of destiny. 10.5 out in August to come back and beat 3 of the best teams in the league...and hometown boy gets the World Series MVP. This seemed like a predictable baseball movie.

Bring on the HOT STOVE!

Well yeah, going out on a high note like that because he'd never top it. So many managers retiring or moving shop this year. . .

Why trade for a pitcher when the main reason cited for being interested in him is that he hasn't been on the DL since 1995? I know they had injury problems, but I would've preferred that they groom either David Huff or Jeanmar Gomez for that last spot in the rotation instead. They already have a younger version of Lowe in Fausto Carmona, who they've re-signed for $7 million to fill that money sinkhole part of the rotation. At least they declined Grady Sizemore's $8 million option, though picking him up for much cheaper with an incentive-laden contract might be a good idea since they don't really have a better option anyway.

YEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Owner Frank McCourt reached an agreement with Major League Baseball on Tuesday night to sell the Los Angeles Dodgers, along with Dodger Stadium and the surrounding real estate, a decision that brings to end not only a six-month legal battle with baseball commissioner Bud Selig but also a 7½-year ownership that was simply never embraced by the team's fan base.

Wow, gotta say, crazy respect for CC Sabathia for not dragging his contract situation out and completely milking the Yankees on it. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't think he's going to be worth the money in 5 years (if he were in better shape, maybe), but the Yankees have wasted more money on worse players before (Kei Igawa says hello). At least getting CC locked up so early will allow them to invest their time and energy elsewhere.

I should already know that the Gold Glove award is a bit of a joke, but Matt Kemp getting it over Chris Young cements it for me.

A guy with a -4.6 UZR is better than the other with 14.1 UZR. Yeah, alright.
