24: Season Five. *SPOILERS*

funny, the mall it took place at was across the street from where my girlfriend lives at the northridge mall D:! JACK BAUER WOOOOOOOOOOO
they need to do something quick because this season has paled in comparison to the last one and is getting stale quick. Last season I didn't do anything but watch the show, but this season I don't really care if I am doing something else while watching.
Yeah last night's episode was stale as hell. I hate to admit this but you know its stale when you are more focused on a webcast feed of WWE RAW which isn't much better.

Hopefully once Tony comes back then the season will start picking up. I'm just glad we are in the lull of the season now instead of later on which seems to be 24' tendency to get about 60% into the season before hitting a dull period.

I don't know who the bigger candyass is, Lynn for being a whiny bitch or the President for letting the terrorists trap the Russian president.

BTW, doesn't Audrey, bring from the DoD, somehow OUTRANK Lynn?
Who? I most have missed it...
i will give u a hint.

***possible spoiler***

jack and chloe were talkin about the chip and there was an encryption on the file that originally came from ??????????. his/her name WASN'T mentioned at all but foreshadowing was involved in the episode.
tonight's episode was VINTAGE 24. someone is coming back if u watch tonight's episode closely.
I started watching last season. This show has always been on my to do list, but never got around to it. Anyway, should I know who this mystery person is?

Also this is why I love 24, the plot is sweet and I can't stop watching. Also I got my mom season one for christmas. Best son ever. :D

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH I forgot to watch the repeat of season 4 earlier today... how could I do this to myself? After watching everything up til now... and then I forget. Nuts to me, and nuts to tonights episode for being sub-par.

I can't wait for next week. Looks like Len's getting his ass handed to him via Curtis.

And since I didn't watch seasons 3 or 4 because of a crappy Fox station in NC, anyone want to fill me in? I'll be watching those seasons at some point, but need some filler.

What the hell was wrong with tonights episode??!! It was completely classic 24, right down to the fucking cliffhanger at the end, which it seemed like they had gotten away from this season.

Well I said tonight's episode would be a filler episode last week but... I'm going to eat my own words now. It was certainly classic 24. I really felt tense as the episode progressed. Can't wait for next week.....

Speaking of which... anyone know if the preview for next week's episode is online yet? Isitonyet.com doesn't have it up yet which is strange since they are usually great about having the previews up fairly fast. Thanks to whomever can help out as the xvids always miss this.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just stumbled across a RSS feed that is dedicated to "24" episode previews.

Use either Quicktime or VLC Media Player to view. Enjoy.

I'm debating whether or not to keep watching this season, or wait and pick things up on DVD from season 1 to this current one. Never seen any of the previous four seasons, but it's sweet. That damn Chloe gets on my nerves though.

great episode...rudy is going to get his ass handed to him soon I hope

possible spoilers on some characters that will be returning

Audreys father, the sec of defense is signed for a couple of episodes...also there are only 2 characters that have contracts for the full season, jack and chloe

Hmmm... That really leaves one to ponder what is coming next this season.. It should be good!!

I'm just on the record for my best guess at what the hell was going on....

The truth about the nerve gas is that it's really Russian nerve gas hidden during the cold war on US soil. That the actual terrorists, oppressed chechen rebels, want to take the gas and use it on the russians.

A group of right wing extremists want to bolster their position politically in the US so they arrange for the terorists to get their hands on the nerve gas. Their plan is for the nerve gas to blow up in the terrorists faces, but not hurt any civilians. Therefore causing a major incident and puting the fear back in the public from another near 9/11 attack. Not like the people forget the last thee major terrorist plots from the previous seasons.

But unfortunately, everything goes wrong for the extremists and now the terrorists actually have the nerve gas and are aware they were betrayed. Meanwhiles, the people who set this whiole thing up consider themselves patriots trying to remind their fellow citizens about the dangers of terrorism.

That's my theory.

Also, last night you could literally see Jacks Back Partner pleadign with him not to kick his ass. Which he proceeds to do anyway.

Any bets that Mike Novak turns out to be the one on the inside working for the terrorists. In fact he is the one who killed Walt Cummings by making it look like Cummings did himself in to cover his own agenda?

I think so...

No way Novak would have stood by and let Palmer get killed, it totally goes against his character from the first season. If they did that, I honestly don't know if I'd keep watching anymore because its such a cheap way to try and get people to be shocked.

I think not...

I'd say that's about as likely as President Palmer working with the terrorists too.. and look what happened to him. That is an outrageous claim in my opinion.

But seriously, who knows. It is 24, after all. They have thrown us some curveballs through the years.

y did mike cried when he found out about palmer? y did he set up the meeting with jack near logan's retreat and didn't tell anyone? true, in the world of 24 no one is trusted or safe. anybody can turn bad or be dead at anytime including JACK BAUER. i totally doubt he's a bad guy. plus, the hint i gave out should shed some light on the possible link inside the govt who was indirectly or directly involved. he/she needs a lot explaining to do with the encrypted chip

president logan is the complete opposite of palmer, and i hate it. he is completely useless. i hope he is gone next season, or dies this season

I think so...
I think that's possible. Novak went against Palmer in season 3, so that pretty much establishes that he's not a total goody-goody. Now that I think about it, if that happens, novak could say he did it because Logan is a dumbass.

First it was season 2 , but when he went against Palmer it was because he (palmer) was putting all his faith in Jack. It been some time so I hope I remember this right but Palmer had doubt (and in the end was right) about the tape that "proved" the involvement of some countries in the nuke attack. Mike and most of the Cabinet wanted to bomb at that moment but Palmer had told the bombers to come back so they invoked the 25th admindment. Mike went against him becuse he thoght Palmer was makeing the wrong move and putting too much faith in Jack. I guess it could be Mike but I keep thinking the First Lady but that might turn out to be wrong

Don't know why, but the first lady's female aide just seems really suspicious for some reason. I have a feeling she is going to play a larger role (for good or for evil) later on in the season.
First it was season 2 , but when he went against Palmer it was because he (palmer) was putting all his faith in Jack.
Ah yes, thanks for reminding me. Season 3 was when Palmer was forced out by then-VP Keeler which Mike, of course, had nothing to do with.

Keeler was Palmer's Presidential opponent, but was not the VP. I need to buy the DVDs.:p

Yes!! Finally an episode where I can say, "I can't wait to see what happens next!!"

On that note, I'm finally glad to see Samwise go... wow that was getting out of hand.

Next week looks fucking amazing!

Tony, Kim AND Robocop all in one episode!?!?! And it looks like Jack is gonna be raising his body count again. And the gas is gonna go off! Thank god Aaron survived though. I was worried for a second...
Hmmm... That really leaves one to ponder what is coming next this season.. It should be good!!
Edgar
doesn't have a contract for the full season? I just can't see him going anywhere.

He's not gone yet. Don't forget his sister and his vagrant boyfriend (and Lynn's keycard).

Nice to see Robocop finally showing up. Next week we'll see what Kim bumbles into this time.

In dedication to Scorch....

TONY IS BACK NEXT WEEK!!!!

... and I'm pissed that I have to be at work when its on. But then again I'll have two hours of "24" goodness to come home too. Can't freakin wait. :D

Ya, that's something I'm going to have to be careful to remember, I know I'll be pissed off if I forget and tune in at 8pm like normal.
good show last night...I was hoping for a more heated interaction between curtis and lynn
I thought it was great. Curtis has now surpassed Jack himself as number 1 badass on the show. That kind of worries me though, he might be one of the characters they're planning on killing off.

"If you follow that order, I will draw my gun"

Classic line, perfect delivery.

They better not kill off Curtis. I was already gonna be pissed if Pierce died in the attack, luckily he made it.

Well, I saw my first episode of 24 just a few minutes ago.

(I bought Season One at Target for 20 on many reccomendations)

It's pretty good so far. I can't wait to really get into it, but I really like it so far.

Great show. Now I need to ifnd more deals on the show, though.

I saw a summary in this week's entertainment weekly, I didn't want to read it.. I skimmed over the last sentence and it caught my attention, then I saw it was for 24 and .. yeah, that sucked. But this is a summary of tomorrow night's episode, if it's true, I will never, ever watch 24 again.

"The world is full of unnecessary objects: Napkin rings, tea cozies, and Jack Bauer's daughter, Kim. And yet that didn't stop 24's producers from asking Elisha Cuthbert to reprise her utterly useless role. Fortunately, there's more going on in these two hours than Kim's return - like First Lady Martha (Jean Smart) backhanding her hubby for almost getting her killed, the introduction of C. Thomas Howell, and the sad death of a series vet. Notice I said sad; that means the damn blonde survives."

They give Kim a 'C' rating, but overall, the entire show gets an 'A'.

They say 'vet'. Only two people are vets - Jack and Tony. Only Tony is in a situation where I could see him dying. I'm guessing he will learn Michelle is dead, see himself, then kill himself. I wanted him to get pissed off and extract revenge. Tony isn't the type of guy to off himself. I hope it's Edgar. Or Audrey. Or Lynn. Hell, I'd rather Jack die than Tony. If it's Tony, I will more than likely avoid 24 until it comes out on DVD. I'll read every spoiler. Tony's my favorite character on the show. If he dies, that's game over for me.

At least 'The Unit' (starring Dennis Haysbert; President Palmer on 24) starts this week.

:hot: That would suck if it were true. I think I will still watch it no matter what.
Even if Tony does die, there still is no change to his profile on IMDb.com..... Here's hoping that it's not him. I can't think of any other vets of the show that I would like to see die, frankly. If someone does die, that would be sad. Here's hoping nothing happens and its just speculation.

possible spoiler

that jack goes old school in his interrogation tmro night...also the only people with full season contracts are jack and chloe so anyone is fair game

also why would it matter if tony is on the show or not, it has been fairly good this season, without him. As long as the writing is good, I think anyone is expendable. Yes, kiefer does a great job, but any guy with a raspy voice and serious looking face could do it.

the unit is being co produced by the guy who does the shield (shawn ryan) so it has a good chance of being a great series. Definately going to make sure I watch it as it should be a nice lead in to the shield.

I am interested in watching the unit, but there have been these types of shows before. The previews look mediocre, hopefully it will be better then the ads make it look. Also very few mid season shows (if you can consider 3/7 mid season) make it. It also has to deal with scrubs and house...also supernatural is a decent show on tues at 9pm.
