Well Nintendo of Japan just announced a new 3DS along with a Xenoblade Chronicles port. Apparently Xenoblade won't work on older 3DS devices due to the clock speed...

"The remake is something they’ve previously wanted to do for the Nintendo 3DS, but were not able to due to its lack of CPU power, but now that it’s getting a boost with the newer version, it has been made possible."

I've only played the first ace attorney game. Should I play the series in any specific order besides by release date or should I still buy but play the rest.
The game technically takes place after Apollo Justice. However, any relevant story details from previous games are included in the game itself and has to do mostly with character interactions.

Wait Xenoblade won't work on existing 3DS systems? That is fucking bogus.

Seems ridiculously small from the picture, yeah.

So far, I see little reason to upgrade to the new XL.
You kidding? This is a legit upgrade.

Includes:

- better 3D
- second stick
- NFC built-in
- coloured buttons
- more buttons
- better battery (up to 7h)
- now compatible with microSDCard
- you can back up data on your PC via wireless.
-browser improved, now works with HTML5
- CPU improved, makes browsing Miiverse / eShop much faster.
- you can switch designs now (covers)

what????

a new 3ds with major changes??????

I never thought Nintendo would add a 2nd circle pad.

(not after they crushed that rumor with the release of the first 3ds xl)

On topic: Just downloaded Azure Striker Gunvolt but I don't see an option to download Mighty Gunvolt. It doesn't have it's own listing/download page in the eShop but it DOES say it's included on the ASG page. Anyone else figure out how to DL it?

Let me clarify. I said there is little reason for me to upgrade. As in, for myself. Not speaking for everyone.

Otherwise:

1. I never use the 3D feature, regardless.

2. Seems too small to be practical from photo, but granted, could be different IRL.

3. So?

4. So?

5. So?

6. I use my XL at home, so for me, better battery does not really matter.

7. Okay.

8. That sounds cool, but nothing "must have" by itself.

9. People actually use the 3DS web browser?

10. See 8. Plus, I do not use the eShop enough to where processing speed is a real issue.

11. Meh.

I hope that they call it the 3DS2.  That way they can put a sticker on the game case that says "Works with 3DS2, not compatible with 3DS 2DS"

Lol yeah if they do come out with several exclusives for "New 3DS", its going to get confusing fast no matter how they do it.

That's a good question.

Maybe it's a unlockable? I do not know.

:hot:
what is plan stupid if your going to up the speed and power they should of just made a new system that was backwards camp,. I mean this and then in another 2 years or so a new complete system.

and they better change the name or they are going to have a ton of upset parents buying the wrong systems .

My plan for now is to ignore anything that requires the New 3DS til the next-gen handheld comes out, at which point, assuming it's backwards compatible, I'll get that to play the games that required the New 3DS.

The way things are going, it would be a miracle for anything to have backwards compatibility in the future.

The mini games in Kirby Triple Deluxe are getting expanded releases:

So that ace attorney game is the old one from gba right? Now dual destinies? The title and the op have me confused

1. The Pheonix Wright sale is so tempting, but I'm SO broke right now. I want to support sales on digital only retail games though. Ugggh.

2. The new 3DS: WTF. The second analog nub should be BELOW the buttons. What are they thinking?! The whole thing is kinda unbelievable.

Lmao I just got a 3DS XL about 4 Months ago.

Not sure what to feel

Is the New 3DS about the same size as the XL?
NEW 3DS

Width 142mm
Depth 21.6mm
Weight 253g

3DS

Weight 235g

NEW 3DS LL

It's lighter, has slighty better battery life, better 3D viewing, better internals, extra buttons, a "c-stick" and probably more that I'm missing. Oh yea, exclusive games. It's coming to Japan first, so you have plenty of time to enjoy your new XL before deciding to upgrade later on.

So basically this is going to be to the 3DS as the DSi was to the DS. Better hardware but they'll co-exist for some time to offer different price points. Hopefully that they're bringing out a major port for it means they realize having like a half dozen DSi titles wasn't enough. Still wonder how many exclusive titles it will have since you've got to be a system seller or port to target it exclusively. Same problem they've had every time they've split the hardware going back to the expansion pack.

Of course I'll be buying it but my biggest personal problem is then giving up my limited edition system!

I think it's a weird place but it's probably to stay consistent with their placement of the sticks on WiiU controllers. It better work with games like RE:R and Kid Icarus that worked with the CPP.
