I hope Luigi's Mansion gets a deal. I feel like I've been waiting forever for that. Bought my fiancee the physical version on sale and she hasn't even played it. I'm jealous.
Sadly, probably not. This seems to be the Mario/Luigi week, so if it was going to get a sale, it'd likely be this week.

Damn it, the more I read about Mario 3D Land, the more I'm inclined to pick it up, even though I really really shouldn't....

It's a great game. It's silly not to pick it up at this price, honestly. And I ain't trying to sell it, either. I only do that with RPGs! :)

Yeah, it's really whether I pick it up here, or pick up a physical copy from Amazon or something. You can get a used copy there for about the same price, and that'll probably be available a while after this deal is over. But it is hella tempting.

Super Mario 3D Land is still my favorite game on the 3DS, no question. Just make sure you *do* buy it, no matter which version you go with.

Is there any place to check lowest prices for these games? Interested in SMB2 and 3 and Punchout, but wondering if they ever have been lower.
I can at least tell you this is the first time SMB3 has gone on sale since it came out on 3ds. Been monitoring it waiting for a sale.

Can't say about the other 2. Punchout was a club nintendo reward I think?

Yeah PunchOut has been free on CN a couple times (at least on WiiU not 100% certain about 3DS).

Thanks for the info. Went ahead and got all three. Already halfway through Punchout. That game never gets old!

Just wish Nintendo didn't charge me tax here in WA :(

You can just set your address to a tax-free state in the eshop settings. Not that any upstanding CAG would ever do such a thing.

Ah, thanks! Didn't know that would work :) I used to have my Steam address set to my old Texas address, but it forced me to update once when I had to pay with a card. I guess if I keep using Eshop cards on the 3DS I can avoid that

It's not even that complex, I just gave it a Delaware zip when it asked.

Just got a code for Mighty Gunvolt on the eShop for being a Mighty No. 9 backer. I don't own a 3DS, so I'd like a fellow CAG to have it:

Code:
A05JVHV70TDHW5M7

The cheaper the better is the rule for anything but 3D Land is fantastic. If I didn't already own the cart, $20 is a great price. Also, if you have a Kongregate coupon from that Gamestop promotion, they work on eShop credit. Buy a $10 card for $5 and your net total for the game is $15.

Some people have managed to get multiple coupons through the promo, if you go to that trouble you could get it for a net total of $10 out of pocket =)

I'm finally going to pick up SMB3. I was so close to buying it a week ago, but decided against it. It's shameful the number of times I've bought this game. I wonder if they'll ever put the GBA version on e-shop, though I can't recall if that was even enhanced over the original.

Those on the fence about 3DLand - buy it. It gets a bit of hate since the early stages are super easy, but the brilliance comes from collecting all the gold coins. Once you unlock the special stages there's a fair amount of challenge. I still haven't 100%'d it after having it for over a year. Great palette cleansing pick-and-play type game. And the 3D is good (if you care about that).

I wanna buy a game when it's cheap and then download it when I have the space later on. A detailed helpful answer would be appreciated.

Hahaha, are you kidding? And I here I was thinking that was a dumb question.
Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous. It was the same on iOS until recently, though, in Nintendo's defense. Although it's kind of indefensible. I don't suppose there's much/any chance the New 3DS will introduce modern features like: the kind of account system we all want, a sensible list of purchased items (like Steam has, not like the idiotic one the PSN has), being able to purchase things you don't have room for, being able to purchase things from a computer or tablet and set them to download...

If only the immense creativity of their game and level designs (which are arguably the best they've been in the history of Nintendo) could be applied to the eShop/etc.

You will be unable to purchase the item. I remember MH3U was on sale for $19.99 a few months ago and I could not purchase it since I had no space left on my 4GB SD card. Proceeded to buy a 32GB, and boom, haven't had a problem ever since.

Thanks. That's disappointing. I shall have to make space then.

Thank you Jesse Dylan Jvang, and Eldritch. Breakfuss take a long walk off a short pier.

Breakfuss didn't mean any harm. What he meant was, he assumed that of course it would be possible to buy a game if you didn't have room, and he was surprised at the answer that, no, in fact, you can't buy a game if you don't have the space. He wasn't taking a dig at you or anything.

Anyway, I hope I catch you before you delete anything and lose save data. Nintendo has a built-in function to backup your save files from a game onto your SD card. This way, you can back up the save, delete the game, and then when you download the game again, it will automatically ask you if you want to use your backed-up save. I hope that makes sense. If you put the cursor thing over the title, for most games, there should be a backup your save option. I would suggest choosing these titles to delete to make room (after backing up). Then you can buy the new game you want once you have space, then just delete it again and re-download what you had before.

Big pain in the rear, I realize, but it's better than losing save data that you don't want to lose.

Gamestop has been absolutely fantastic to me. I traded in all my physical 3DS games to them during the 50% promo (except Monster Hunter, Pokemon Y and Fire Awakening), they've given me $100 in eShop credit for $50 the past week, and now Nintendo puts 3D Land on sale for $20 and Gamestop bought it from me for $25. God bless gamestop and Nintendo!

this month should be great chance to pick up some of those traded in games on sale at the eshop too. Really makes me appreciate the 3DS using SD cards. * shakes fist at vita *

All I want from Nintendo at this point is an account system and some sort of achievement system.

I know it sounds extremely shallow but if Nintendo had some sort of trophy implementation then I'd probably play Nintendo games way more... Heck, I'd even be tempted to pick up a few multi plats from them.

It's possible but I think Zero Mission (Since Zero Suit Samus is directly from that game) is more likely if we only get an additional Metroid game that week.
You mean for release, right? Zero Mission isn't even on the eShop yet (Fusion is), and I doubt they'd both release it and put it on sale in the same week.

If they did, though, no-brainer Day 1 Purchase.

Quite frankly, from what I've seen of that guy's posts, I wouldn't blame breakfuss if he did.

matrix, what size is the card in your 3ds? 32gb cards are really cheap, and 16 gb cards are ridiculous.

I don't know the exact size. It's the one that came with the system. I guesstimate that it has 30000 blocks. I'd rather not buy something if I don't have to. I'm fine with downloading something, deleting something, and then picking it up again when I want to play it.

So either 2GB or 4GB.

Apparently I upset a number of CAGs in a past life. Didn't mean any offense by that @matrix. But yeah, that's crazy. I never noticed since I have pretty big memory card. Like others have said they can be had for cheap at tons of places. Think I paid $10 for mine at Big Lots.

Yeah, matrix, you can go to walmart, and get a MicroSD card 16gb for about $10, or a 32gb one for $17. It'll be MUCH MUCH MUCH bigger than what you currently have. I suggest getting the bigger one. BTW, the Micro card comes with a regular SD adapter. http://www.walmart.com/search/?query=32%20gb%20sd
Wish I had done this. I bought a 32gb SD Card... which when I inevitably upgrade to New 3DS will be useless and I'll need to buy a micro anyway.

OK, I'm now a proud 2DS-haver.

If I love Super Mario 3D World, is Land a must? The lack of co-op puts me off just a little.

Also, if The Minish Cap is on sale next week, that could mean A Link Between Worlds goes on sale, too...

Yes, 3D Land is a must-play if you own any type of current-gen DS.

If you'd like to play a handheld platformer, I can't think of a better one than 3D Land.

I like 3D Land more. I think it had better level design; 3D World was an evolution of it but was really dependent on the baseline established in 3D Land.

It would be nice if ALBW went on sale but my guess is if another recent Zelda game does it will be OoT based on Sheik and the more OoT art style used for Link/Zelda/Sheik. Just a guess based on the clues but I would prefer ALBW as well. Definitely possible that we could get one of those since we'll likely get multiple Zelda games on sale.

Thanks for the advice, folks! Sounds like I'm getting 3D Land.

Are any parts of it tough without the 3D?

I've been living off my 8gb card pretty well. Have Pokemon X, A Link Between Worlds, 3D Land, Tomodachi Life, DK Country, Mario Golf, and Dual Destinies along with 10~eShop/DSiware games. I have about 2,000 blocks left too. Upgrading to a 16gb soon though, so hopefully that helps me ride this out.
