50% off Select Pre-Owned Games at GameStop, 4/8 to 4/28

Ceol_CAG

CAGiversary!
EDIT: Hello! Turns out there's a big fat full list that I didn't know about. Figures, since I have no clue what I'm doing, that I'd fudge it up. Apologies, all! All new titles that weren't previously listed are now in orange. Maximus was kind enough to take a picture of the flyer with the full list (Thank you!!!), so you can also take a gander there:
My store had fliers. I took one and scanned it.
Sorry about the creases.

http://oi45.tinypic.com/6jk1nn.jpg

Back says the offer is valid through 4/28/13 and it stacks with your PowerUp Rewards for an additional 10% after the 50% is taken off.
EDIT 2: I have learned how to edit titles to reflect the dates. Whee.

EDIT 3: Red is now orange, because it really was quite terrible looking.

This is actually my very first thread after much lurking and sparse posting here and there, so... yay. Quite glad to contribute after discovering a lot of fantastic deals from fellow CAGers. Let me know if I'm "doing it wrong", as they say on these strange internets.

GameStop's going to be doing a 50% off sale on certain pre-owned games starting this coming Monday, 4/8 and lasting until 4/28. Lots of crap, admittedly, but there're a few gems in there. And I have the full list!

Stores will be setting up "dump bins" for these titles, and from what I understand so far, they won't be marked as the 50% off price, but will ring up as half off the price on the sticker.

This deal works online! If you do "Pick Up @ Store," you will get the discounted price when you pick up the game.

And just for reference, since I'm not sure how well-known these acronyms are... KNR = Kinect Required, MVR = Move Required, MVC = Move Compatible, MP = Motion Plus.
They're starting to fix it. I was about to buy and then the price jumped.
I checked and the 50% doesn't stack anymore for me. :(
Well i'm glad I put my order in the morning.Sucks that I couldn't order A couple that I wanted because they were out of stock online like Lair,Haze,Socom: Confrontation (I know they are all supposed to be bad but I like mediocre games :D )
DanceDanceRevolution2 on the Wii is surprisingly good. One of the best console DDR releases, songlist wise.
Is there a good DDR mat for the Wii? I still play on PS2 with my RedOctane Ignition 2.0, and on 360 with the Mad Catz Beat Pad Pro. Need a thick pad, preferably with raised buttons. I can't abide the crappy thin ones.
This is either false or then the sale is YMMV.

Bought lair, blazblue, haze and bulletstorm all :ps3: for 12.11 after discount code 14619 and PUR. So worked for me, however it did not stack the extra 50% that the web did earlier this morning.
How does that discount code work? Never done it before do I just give them that number?

Whats the % also just curious Ive been wanting El Shadai I actually enjoyed it a little. Could possibly pick up blazblu also

Discount code auto applies during check out. You don't need to give it to them. They have fliers with all the quantifying games at the store. The percent is 50% so Haze was 1.50 eg.

i got a copy of deus for 4.50$ instore with my returned copy of mag and my discounts. the strange thing is that i was taxed and i used my silver card to pay this off. that hasnt happened to me before when buying a used game. did gamestop change something ?
Just fyi, the 20% birthday coupon took the % off the original price for me. YMMV.
Can I just give them the coupon code or do I have to print it out?

I dont feel like printing anything out :whistle2:#

I'm going to try to get:

Resistance 2
de Blob
Blast Works
Rockband
Mag (not part of the sale, but for $1 it's hard to pass up)

Seems pretty good for $10, have been eying most of these for a long time:bouncy:
How's MLB the Show series from each year? And what does MVC stand for?
Move Compatible.

I think 2010 is the best of the older games if you're not going to get 2013. Analog pitching was introduced in 2011 though if you want that.

Other notable titles:

:360:
Akai Katana
Battle Fantasia
Child of Eden
Conflict Denied Ops
Eat Lead
EDF 2017
Kengo Legend of the 9
Raven Squad Hidden Dagger
Rogue Warrior
Section 8
Stranglehold
Tom Clancy Hawx

:wii:
Honestly the list is long and full of shovelware, Dawn of Discovery, No More Heroes and Red Steek 2 were the only few that stuck out

:ps3:
Brutal Legend
Deus Ex
DA:O
Graw 2
Homefront
Madden 09-11
Medeival Moves
MLB 09-11
NeverDead
Rainbow Six 2
Resistance 2

Went to two locations both had decent stock, one had a dump bin set up in the middle of the store with the titles, the other did not.

Honestly, not too much to grab, but the prices are still good (even without the extra 50% the web was giving this morning).

Alright, went to both of my local Gamestops. The first had a small, small display with like 5 360 games and 5 PS3 games, that was all. I had to search through the 14.99 and under bin to find the rest of the titles.

At the first one I got:

Bad Company 2
BCFX: Black College Football
Rock Band 2
Virtua Tennis 3
MLB Front Manager

The second store didn't have any display and I thought they only had 2 of the sale games. Turns out they had a stack of flyers at the register with a lot more games than are in the op, stupid me laid it down and forgot to grab it so hopefully someone will post it. Earth Defense Force 1 was on the list but they didn't have a copy.

Second store I picked up:

Eat Lead: Return of Matt Hazard
Stranglehold
Raven Squad
Top Spin 3

Like I said, someone needs to post the full list of games if they haven't already. Sorry if they have

Went to the GameStop by my work and they had no idea what I was talking about. Was able to get resistance 2 for 3.14 . Gonna try the one by my house later.

Picked up:

360:
Blazblue CS
Child of Eden
Euro 2008
Akai Katana
Battlefield BC 2

ps3:
Resistance 2
Star Wars FU

wii:
Kore gang
Obscure
Battalion Wars 2
de Blob

for a total of 25 bucks w/ free shipping.

This was last night when everything was 75% off. lol wouldnt have bought anything otherwise.

Was debating on a bunch of other titles, but decided I just didnt wanna spend anymore on these games (which lets face it arnt exactly the best of the best here...) Might pick up Haze for a buck later in store.
I didn't see any paper list. Only some of the stores that had setups had signage alluding to a 50% off sale.

I guess GS promo/sale/price drop memos aren't like other retailers that list actual prices. I'll likely check instore anyway.

Also is it me or was Gamestop's Spring 2013 sale much worse than previous years.
The paper list is for GameStop employees so they know which games to put out into the 50% bin. I saw the paper at each of the stores I went to yesterday, but none of the employees would let me look at it, so I'm not sure if prices wee on it.

I'm going to guess if there were prices on the list that the OP just didn't feel like typing them... or was told not to.

Another side note:

When the heck was the last B2G1 on used games sale?!?!?

Seems like they haven't had one since, what Black Friday?
Also, I laughed at this: Ninjabread Man (don't buy this, don't do it, DON'T DO IT)....especially because I bought that game for one of my friends as a joke one year for a part of their Christmas present, it's pretty terrible.
Ninjabread Man was the finest Saturn game I ever bought for my Wii...

That was the last one they had.

Black Friday. The rest they had over the few months were just on Wii. :/

Grabbed the last copy of EDF 2017 from my local GS. Correctly rang up at $7.49. Disc is in good condition and the original slipcover and manual are included, though the back corner of the case and cover has a hole.

I think I suggested that they sell stuff like this on sale a while ago.

Next they need to put other stuff on sale like this. There are a lot of under $10 titles that would be excellent additions to most libraries.

This game kicks ass. Good pick up man. :applause:
Can't wait for the next one.

Probably In for

Ps3:
Force Unleashed
Resistance 2

Xbox:
Bad Company 2

Is Dragon Age Origins worth the 4.99 tag? If so which system?

Earth Defense Force is a terrific game. If you can pick it up do so. I got it a few years ago and played co-op with my brother and we loved it.

I picked up :ps3: Lair, :ps3: Brutal Legend, and :360: Stranglehold today.
everyone and their mother raves about earth defence force. someone convince me to buy it as it looks mediocre. is there something about this game im missing ?
Its just mindless fun blasting giant insects. Its like a cheesy movie from sci fi. I only played the first one at a friends house and I have the second one.

Picked up Blazblue Continum Shift for the 360 and Cursed Mountain for the Wii. I was low on time, otherwise I would have remembered to get more stuff.

Earth Defense Force is a good but not great game. Why it gets so much praise when similar games like Dynasty Warriors don't is beyond me. The only difference here is you are using guns to mow down giant ants instead of halberds to skewer Chinamen.

Also, how good are the cases GameStop.com sends them. My store normally has horrible cracked cases with stickers all over them.
Also, how good are the cases GameStop.com sends them. My store normally has horrible cracked cases with stickers all over them.
Completely random, as a collector I'm not taking the chance of not knowing what Gamestop.com will send

Also, I really need to play EDF 2017, would have snatched it but the closest store with it in stock is 40 miles away.

Just from looks, reminds me of RAD for the ps2, somewhat, I know the gameplay isn't the same but idk

I dont worry about cases from GS.com because If I get a game disc only, Ill just get a case from in store. They are usually pretty cool about doing that, if you just show em your receipt.

Thank you,

Ill go in store tonight to see what they got or call first and ask them to hold some games and find the best cases they have.

Dynasty Warriors is a fair comparison. It's similar...EDF is kinda more fun though. It's great as a local co-op game. I like Dynasty Warriors games for the most part. 6 was pretty good but all of them since have been terrible.

Wow, call me ignorant but I always thought Dynasty Warriors was an RTS type game.

Have I been wrong the whole time?

i acually do consider dynasty warriors an action rts game

as for the list, gamestop has a link on the main page for the full list of this sale. i might go back and get lair

Stoked is a very good snowboarding game for those on the fence. I had as much fun with it as I did 1080 Snowboarding for N64 back in the day.
