50% select Anime Box at Amazon only (dead at BB)

Most of those are listed in the Sunday Ad for this week my good friend. I laugh because my girlfriend is pissed because she spent almost full price on Elfin Lied to see this on sale so cheap made her sad.

that's a damn good price for evangelion, i thought i got a good deal getting it for 50 from walmart last year. oh well.

BB has a 10 day policy that says if they lower the price you can get the difference back if purchased in the last 10 days.
Wow I didn't know they brought the samurai deeper kyo game to the US.
I've never seen that game for sale anywhere. Is this the only place to get it?

In for Eva. I bought the Elfen Lied set when it came out and paid out the ass for it, was well worth it then so I cannot recommend it enough.

The Robotech Protoculture Collection for 38$ it's a steal!!!I mean it's not the original uncut japanese series, but for any Robotech fan, it is a must buy, even if u have all the other Robotech stuff even if u have Macross , Mospeada and Southern Cross......will check my local store!!!
I've never seen that game for sale anywhere. Is this the only place to get it?
Maybe I imported a copy years ago from either play-asisa or yesasia.
great, my store doesn't even have Elfed Lied...what can I do besides traveling to another store that is far away?
Order it online? Have them transfer a copy for you?

ELFEN LIED 1: DICLONIUS REPORT (3PC) - DVD

FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST: SEASON 2 - PART 2 - DVD

TOKKO: THE COMPLETE SERIES 1-3 / (WS)

Thanks for the heads up!!! :)

My store doesn't have Noien. Bah.

My friend said he liked it a lot and I have a $10 GC, so that would have been a buy.

And I have a feeling if I have it shipped, BB will fuck that up by putting it in an envelope or something stupidly similar.

I bit on the protoculture collection, sadly I could not choose in store pickup, oh well.

Now i will need to get rid of my original box sets for space constraints. =)

How is Noein? worth watching?

Yes Noein is worth 18 bucks, bought it as it came out, as long as you pay attention that is. I will say avoid Samurai Deeper Kyo at all cost, the show had a low budget and it shows, entire scenes where people were talking weren't actually animated. No lips moving, ending also was terrible.
For anyone who's seen it, is Noein worth $18?
BUY NOEIN! $18 IS MORE THAN WORTH IT! thats what i paid for it and it's AMAZING! ESPECIALLY IF YOU LIKE SCI-FI-ESQUE ANIMES!

Too bad they ruined the DBZ box sets, or else I'd be in for that Season 4 for $20.
I've never seen any of the others.

Although Neon Gensis Evangelion & Robotech look temtping. I don't wanna buy a show I've never seen though.
does anyone know if the samurai deeper kyo game is any good?
I played it while the anime was still airing in Japan, so memory's a bit fuzzy... but I remember it being a blast for about 10 minutes or so, when the repetitive nature of beat-em-up action games set in. Great for, say, killing time in line at the DMV. :D

Yeah I got the first DBZ set to really see if it was that bad, Nappa's head was cut off at the top at damn near every frame. I'll never understand funimation's constant fucking up of dragon ball z, at least to their credit they did release the dvds individually though why they couldn't just slap all of them in a boxset i'm not sure.
what to do? Do I get FMA season 2 when I havent watch season 1?
Similar position.

I have Season 1, parts 1 & 2, but have not seen or own Season 2 Part 1.

Same here; no go on the in store pick up, and I'm wanting the set both for the ton of extras and the space saving box design.

Now, I just need to get rid of the seven Robotech sets I already own...
Similar position.

well not exactly as you could start with season 1 while i couldnt do anything with season 2 unless there is a deal for season 1. I did read the manga but they are different enough that i need to start from the beginning.

I went for
Noein
Elfen Lied
Robotech.
Originally had Robotech shipped, but I wasn't sure they'd ever get it back off backorder, so I ordered again for instore pickup. So between this sale and last week's 9.99 SE sale, I have to hit three BBs next week to pick up.

Can anyone confirm if Noein has English audio?

I picked this up for my wife and all the back of the box says is, "Original japanese feature with English subtitles." Right next to the box set are the individual DVDs and they all say English/japanese audio.

Best Buy's website says the same thing for both. I am confused since the box set was released after the individual DVDs so why wouldn't it have English!?

Thanks for any help!

Oh yea we got Noein and the Mars set. My wife thought Tokko was too violent and they didn't have Kyo (but I don't think she would like it from what has been said here and the game is probably a desperate gimmick to get the set sold). She didn't want Robotech either- seemed like an awesome deal but oh well, saves me money.

I'm working on collecting all the individual DVDs. Although I know it'll cost a lot of money.
I actually got excited when I first heard they were going to be doing seasons, but then for some reason they thought they had to make it wide screen by cutting off the top & bottom of the screen. :wall:I don't know how any company could be so stupid. I also heard rumors that this was going to be the last time they released the DBZ episodes.

wow..kyo is awesome, watch at least one episode before you judge:bomb:

This is not necessarily definitive, but my DVDProfiler database says
Japanese: Dolby Digital 5.1
English: Dolby Digital 5.1
Japanese: Dolby Digital Stereo
English: Dolby Digital Stereo

for Noein: To Your Other Self: The Complete Series

You're right, though; the back of the box says nothing about English audio.
is elfen lied worth it? hmmm, doesnt seem like my type of anime.
It's a weird one, it's got some really graphic scenes and has this cutesy side story. I'm usually pretty good with gore and stuff but I cringed during some of the parts. I'd say find a way to sample it before you buy it although for $18 it's not that big of a deal.
is elfen lied worth it? hmmm, doesnt seem like my type of anime.
Well other then some odd stuff Extreme gore.. and some dealing with molestation and rape... Its a really odd one.

But other then that it IS a decent movie.

I really want to get that Noien

Ok! :whistle2:# I've seen some negative things on here but I will have my wife take a look at it if we are at one of the other Best Buys that have it (plus, it could get me a free game!).

I may get her Robotech because the cost to length of entertainment ratio is awesome. Did someone say the SE tin set was $9.99 last week!? Just saw it today for $100 :bomb:

yay!

also, if any1 doesnt want the Samurai Deeper Kyo GBA game ill happily buy/trade for it!

Went ahead and bit on Noien online. Bah.

As far as Eva goes, is it worth it to get the supar deluxe metal case, since that includes another 4 episodes? Or can you get the one on sale and pick up the other stuff cheap?

That is what they said, they were doing the 'high def' masters , releasing them on dvd and eventually blu-ray in season sets. Its baffling really, they don't so much as screw up an eyecatch on any other license they have but when it comes to dbz they go nuts

this is classic ADV tactics only now it's funimation. This is the reason why anime has gone belly up and pioneer geneon have all folded. this triple dipping is death. They will release DBZ in widescreen and when it's all bought out will release a remastered "ORIGINAL UNCUT" edition. ALthough, I did buy the Broly saga on blu-ray and it is AMAZING!!! it's like actual anime cels brought to life even though I hate broly and DBZ in general. Once you see actual anime that was originally on film remastered onto blu-ray you will be floored. I'm still in awe of it.

whoa....seriously? I think I gotta try and get that eventually and play it on my friend's ps3. I don't have much problems with the DBZ season sets, the cropping is annoying but it doesn't completely ruin it for me.

I'm in for Full Metal Alchemist at least.
