Here is a list of all the known games on Amazon that come with a gift card or gaming credit. If the Amazon price decreases between your order time and the end of the day of the release date, you'll receive the lowest price. Release date delivery is available on many of these titles, which is free for Amazon Prime members.

The status of these offers fluctuates. Please read the details on the Amazon product page before ordering.

Amazon Credit & GC Deals FAQ by Lucian[hiddenlist]

1. What is Amazon game credit? How is it different than a gift card?
Amazon game credit is a discount off a new order only. This means it cannot be applied to an existing order, unlike a gift card that can be applied at any time. Occasionally, a CAG will report that customer service applied a game credit balance to an existing order, but this is extremely YMMV.

In addition, game credits can only be used on gaming items. This generally includes all games and accessories for consoles, handhelds, and PC shipped and sold by Amazon. Credits usually cannot be used on systems (either console or handheld). As far as digital content is concerned:
- Xbox Live codes sent via email - No
- Xbox Live physical points cards - Yes
- PSN codes sent via email - Yes (confirmed by grantme 7/3/2011)
- PSN physical wallet cards - Yes (someone please confirm via PM)
- PC game downloads - Not sure (someone please advise via PM)

2. What about the expiration date? Does this mean I can't use it on a preorder that releases after the expiration date?
The expiration date is the date by which a qualifying order must be placed. The order does not need to ship by that date; however, if you cancel the order after the the credit expires, it is gone and cannot be recovered.

3. Can I stack game credit?
Yes, you can stack game credit to your heart's content. However, remember that each game credit has an expiration date and must be used prior to the expiration date. Currently, Amazon does not provide information on your credit balance through their website, so either track it yourself or call customer service for assistance.

4. When will I get my game credit or gift card?
The exact timeframe is specified on the product page in the section detailing the game credit, but it is usually 2 business days. The game credit or gift card will be deposited into your account and you should receive an email notification once that occurs. Of course, it is possible for email delivery failure, so you can check your account depending on the type of bonus:
- Gift card - Go to your account and check your gift card balance
- Game credit - See FAQ #9 below 'How can I check my credit balance?'

Please wait the expected time frame before contacting customer service asking for your credit.

5. Can I use game credit and gift cards on the same order?
Yes.

6. I want to order two (2) copies of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 because of the $15 game credit. Will I get $30 in credit?
No. Game credit offers are limited to 1 per household per title, so you will only receive 1 game credit.

7. What if I order one (1) copy of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 for PS3 and one (1) copy for Xbox 360? Will I get 2 game game credits now?
No. CAGs have reported only receiving 1 credit per title even though the titles are for different platforms (i.e., have different SKUs).

8. A credit was just added to a game that I already had preordered. Do I need to cancel my order to qualify for the credit?
No. To date, all game credit promotions have had verbiage indicating that This offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders.. To be 'safe', you may want to get a screenshot of the promotion as proof should you need to contact customer service after the game ships.

9. How can I check my credit balance?
Place a preorder for any title to see how much promotional credit is applied. Cancel the order and the promotional credit will be released back to your account as long as it has not yet expired.

Also, Amazon recently added the ability to view your balance on the MP3 download screen. Go to any MP3 download page and look for a blue splat with a $ in it; it's right below the purchase button. Click the link next to the blue splat that says 'Redeem a gift card or promotion code & view balance' and a pop-up will display available credit. Videogame credits will display under the category 'SOFTWARE/VIDEO GAMES', but may contain credit applicable only to software downloads.

Other Amazon-related questions

1. Why does my order say the estimated ship date is a week after release?
Amazon prioritizes shipping for Prime members and those who paid for shipping over those taking advantage of their Free Super Saver Shipping (FSSS) option. Sometimes this means that a preorder will not ship for a few days after release, though I've never had an order take as long as they estimate. I expect their estimates accomplish 2 things:
- It covers their worst case scenario backlog and makes you feel better when it ships earlier than estimated.
- It's a nice marketing ploy to get you to either pay for shipping or sign-up for Amazon Prime.

2. My Amazon Prime or Prime trial is going to expire in a few days. What happens to my existing orders or preorders?
Amazon Prime (whether a full membership or a trial) applies to all orders placed during the Prime membership period. This means that if you preorder an item that ships months after your Prime expires, that order will still be covered under your Prime benefits (i.e., free standard or 2-day shipping and sometimes release-date delivery). If an item becomes eligible for Release Date Delivery (RDD) and you already have it preordered with 2-day shipping, it will automatically be upgraded to RDD even if your Prime has since expired. However, if you need to change the payment method (e.g., if your credit card has expired) on an order after your Prime has expired, your Prime benefits on that order will be lost. In this situation, you can apply a gift card balance without affecting Prime benefits.
I was given a 75 dollar AmEx gift card for Christmas, and was wanting to buy something at Amazon for 100. Is there a way to tell them to take 75 from the gift credit card and then I could pay the remainder myself? I am looking for a way to accomplish this but I don't see it. Perhaps I'm overlooking something? I'm turning to you oh CAG experts of Amazon.
Use the AmEx to buy yourself a $75 amazon gift card. Apply said gift card towards the purchase

I want this as well. Let's hope amazon reads this forum.. lol.

That, God of War III, or No More Heroes 2 would make me happy. What would make me MORE happy is if they did all three :p
Wow, no darksiders? that sucks.
I hate GameStop but it's actually worth pre-ordering there. You basically get a collector's edition for normal price.

What are you talking about? According to the Gamestop listing, the only bonus is an in-game weapon download. How is that a collector's edition?

They were offering this 100-page book that included a prequel comic, designs, and some other stuff. They must have taken it down which sucks. They took down the Rooster Hat bonus with Scribblenauts so maybe a lot of people have pre-ordered it?

This is genius.

However, I just tried to do this and was unable to complete the order. Given that they need a name and billing address to verify the credit card, I am uncertain of what to put in order to complete the order. At the bottom of the card where a name would be it says Westcor Gift Card and I have no idea where to get a billing address (when I filled it out the first time I put the name as Westcor and the billing address as my own and they sent me an email saying they were unable to verify the card# and therefore cancelled the order).

If you have experience using credit card gift cards online, let me know what I should do in order to make it work.

Check you local grocery/supermarts/pharmacy chain. They often sell Amazon giftcards in $25 $50 and $100 values. That's the only way I can think to get around your situation

Think CVS, Wal-Mart, Target, Meijer, Food Lion, AAFES

So anyhow look on the back of the card, the cardboard 'sleeve' it came in, etc... who knows you might get lucky.

Amazon. Gamestop is a bad option
Gamestop is offering very cool preorder bonuses for ME2, far cooler than Amazon for this game at least. Black hole gun? Yes please.

Also if the thread in the PS3 forum is to be believed, the weapon code is not limited use or a DLC code like most of the pre-order bonuses. This means you wont miss anything if you dont pre-order.

I wouldn't be surprised. GameStop advertised a code to play as the original Prince of Persia in last year's game as an exclusive when it was just a code that was eventually put up on Game FAQs
Note - Army of Two is not worth it for any that are looking into it.
I actually liked it alot!!

It sucks so bad people who order the CE of Mass Effect 2 don't get the credit, as we're already paying over $10 more than people buying the standard edition.

Gamestop stopped taking pre orders for the CE though the day before Thanksgiving. Also you still get the Inferno armor at either Amazon or Best Buy, you just don't get the gun also.

For any of us who wanted the CE and didn't have the GS credit to do their preorder 2 months in advance instead of 7 weeks in advance, Amazon was our best choice.

Hopefully they'll change that soon. They had some time where only the regular of MW2 had the credit but they added it to the Hardened later.

The first Army of Two game was short, finished in about 7 hours in co-op. It's more of a rental than a buy. The first game was nothing special, gameplay was just taking strategic turns firing at bad guys, still more fun than most co-op.

We'll just have to see if any new gameplay elements are added. They had that nice back2back and stealth invis power up. Would definitely like to see more variation.

Actually, in the demo, they made you do more tasks, much more than the first game.

i've noticed that it says the $10 VG credit is limited to one per household. Does this mean I could preorder 2 copies of bioshock 2 and have the shipped to different addresses and get $20 credit total?

it is actually per account...you need two different accounts to receive two credits

ah damn that sucks
Just a heads up for anyone who ordered Crystal Bearers, the $10 certificate is only good until 1/31/2010.
My cousin bought this game and said he'll be using the cert next month.

Better tell him it expires in a few days from now.. lol.
if i preorder 2 or more different games will i get $10 credit per game?
$10 for every different game you order.

1 ME 2
1 Bioshock 2
1 Mag

$30 Gaming Credit

2 ME 2

$10 Gaming Credit.

Damn, I was going to trade in Lego Star Wars II but now it's $4.75 instead of $7. Still kinda tempted to trade it and Lego Star Wars I (GC) since I never play them and the Complete Trilogy is out.

actually its not that bad i have 2 amazon accounts--ship items to the same adress n still no probs.
Ordered Army of Two:40th Day and ME2. Hopefully I get the first code from Ao2 before ME2 ships.
You can't apply these credits to existing orders yourself. At best you can contact amazon and they'll do it, at worst they'll tell you they can't and you could use it on something else or cancel/re-order ME2

I jumped on the ME2 deal, it really blows that there is no $10 promo with the CE. If there was I would have grabbed that instead. oh well maybe they'll add the $10 promo to the CE before release day, then I'll just cancel and re-order *wishful thinking*.

Is it still possible to buy FF Crystal Bearers and still get the $10 credit? I see it on the first post still listed but I don't see the $10 offer on the Amazon product page. Hmmm..

Is there any chance a "last updated" date could be added to the thread title?

The "many new games added" is a bit deceiving without a date to go with it.

One can also look at the last time the first post was edited. :)
