Here is a list of all the known games on Amazon that come with a gift card or gaming credit. If the Amazon price decreases between your order time and the end of the day of the release date, you'll receive the lowest price. Release date delivery is available on many of these titles, which is free for Amazon Prime members.

The status of these offers fluctuates. Please read the details on the Amazon product page before ordering.

Amazon Credit & GC Deals FAQ by Lucian[hiddenlist]

1. What is Amazon game credit? How is it different than a gift card?
Amazon game credit is a discount off a new order only. This means it cannot be applied to an existing order, unlike a gift card that can be applied at any time. Occasionally, a CAG will report that customer service applied a game credit balance to an existing order, but this is extremely YMMV.

In addition, game credits can only be used on gaming items. This generally includes all games and accessories for consoles, handhelds, and PC shipped and sold by Amazon. Credits usually cannot be used on systems (either console or handheld). As far as digital content is concerned:
- Xbox Live codes sent via email - No
- Xbox Live physical points cards - Yes
- PSN codes sent via email - Yes (confirmed by grantme 7/3/2011)
- PSN physical wallet cards - Yes (someone please confirm via PM)
- PC game downloads - Not sure (someone please advise via PM)

2. What about the expiration date? Does this mean I can't use it on a preorder that releases after the expiration date?
The expiration date is the date by which a qualifying order must be placed. The order does not need to ship by that date; however, if you cancel the order after the the credit expires, it is gone and cannot be recovered.

3. Can I stack game credit?
Yes, you can stack game credit to your heart's content. However, remember that each game credit has an expiration date and must be used prior to the expiration date. Currently, Amazon does not provide information on your credit balance through their website, so either track it yourself or call customer service for assistance.

4. When will I get my game credit or gift card?
The exact timeframe is specified on the product page in the section detailing the game credit, but it is usually 2 business days. The game credit or gift card will be deposited into your account and you should receive an email notification once that occurs. Of course, it is possible for email delivery failure, so you can check your account depending on the type of bonus:
- Gift card - Go to your account and check your gift card balance
- Game credit - See FAQ #9 below 'How can I check my credit balance?'

Please wait the expected time frame before contacting customer service asking for your credit.

5. Can I use game credit and gift cards on the same order?
Yes.

6. I want to order two (2) copies of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 because of the $15 game credit. Will I get $30 in credit?
No. Game credit offers are limited to 1 per household per title, so you will only receive 1 game credit.

7. What if I order one (1) copy of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 for PS3 and one (1) copy for Xbox 360? Will I get 2 game game credits now?
No. CAGs have reported only receiving 1 credit per title even though the titles are for different platforms (i.e., have different SKUs).

8. A credit was just added to a game that I already had preordered. Do I need to cancel my order to qualify for the credit?
No. To date, all game credit promotions have had verbiage indicating that This offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders.. To be 'safe', you may want to get a screenshot of the promotion as proof should you need to contact customer service after the game ships.

9. How can I check my credit balance?
Place a preorder for any title to see how much promotional credit is applied. Cancel the order and the promotional credit will be released back to your account as long as it has not yet expired.

Also, Amazon recently added the ability to view your balance on the MP3 download screen. Go to any MP3 download page and look for a blue splat with a $ in it; it's right below the purchase button. Click the link next to the blue splat that says 'Redeem a gift card or promotion code & view balance' and a pop-up will display available credit. Videogame credits will display under the category 'SOFTWARE/VIDEO GAMES', but may contain credit applicable only to software downloads.

Other Amazon-related questions

1. Why does my order say the estimated ship date is a week after release?
Amazon prioritizes shipping for Prime members and those who paid for shipping over those taking advantage of their Free Super Saver Shipping (FSSS) option. Sometimes this means that a preorder will not ship for a few days after release, though I've never had an order take as long as they estimate. I expect their estimates accomplish 2 things:
- It covers their worst case scenario backlog and makes you feel better when it ships earlier than estimated.
- It's a nice marketing ploy to get you to either pay for shipping or sign-up for Amazon Prime.

2. My Amazon Prime or Prime trial is going to expire in a few days. What happens to my existing orders or preorders?
Amazon Prime (whether a full membership or a trial) applies to all orders placed during the Prime membership period. This means that if you preorder an item that ships months after your Prime expires, that order will still be covered under your Prime benefits (i.e., free standard or 2-day shipping and sometimes release-date delivery). If an item becomes eligible for Release Date Delivery (RDD) and you already have it preordered with 2-day shipping, it will automatically be upgraded to RDD even if your Prime has since expired. However, if you need to change the payment method (e.g., if your credit card has expired) on an order after your Prime has expired, your Prime benefits on that order will be lost. In this situation, you can apply a gift card balance without affecting Prime benefits.

so I emailed them to ask if I'll still get the credit for Castlevania.

My email:

When I pre-ordered Castlevania: Lords of Shadow a week ago there was a $20 Amazon Video Game Credit promotion. I see now that the promotion is no longer being offered. Since the credit was my primary reason for ordering through Amazon, I'm a bit concerned. Since I ordered while the promotion was active will I still be getting the $20 gaming credit?

Their reply:

Because of the issues you were having with the $20 claim code, I manually applied it to your account.

The balance only appears when you place a qualifying order and doesn't display in Your Account. You'll see the promotional funds listed in the order cost summary that appears just before you submit your order. If you don't see the promotional discount in your order summary, please check the conditions of the promotional offer or visit our Help pages for more information.

So instead of giving me an answer they just gave me a $20 credit. Buh-wha?

Happens all the time lol. They read promotional credit, how much, and just apply it without thinking. Granted, I doubt they're paid to think.
Thinking about that, I dont think it's actually contradictory, but maybe it's confusing Amazon CS like it just confused me. I think that rule is supposed to mean that AFTER a promotion is over, it's over. For example I cant order Black Ops and get a $20 credit now because that deal is done.
I doubt that rule was meant to apply to pre-orders though.
It's meant for anyone who pre-orders after the promotional period has ended. The only time it would be contradictory is if the CSR believes it applies to pre-orders prior to the promotion being added. Amazon is trying to cover their ass, but is just confusing their employees in the process.

Pretty much. Hold the applause until they apply another $20 to your account when the game ships ;)
Its a theme for ps3 since they dont have avatars.
Gotcha. Thanks.

Anyone who pre-ordered the X360 version get their avatar code and $10 VGC?
amazon needs to bring back the 20 GC for Black Ops
This. This so much. I want to own Black Ops on 360 on release day, but I can't bring myself to do it if I don't get me a $20 credit with it.

Yeah, I definitely wouldn't have preordered Black Ops if it weren't for the $20 credit but I got pretty lucky by preordering a week before the credit was pulled :)

I currently have $230 worth of video game preorders at Amazon, this is after applying the random credits they will give me. This is just through December, and will probably grow.

How much money do you guys have preordered?

Anyone with a Ghost Recon Future Soldier pre-order notice your price dropped $10?

I've had it pre-ordered since April when it showed up as a Gold Box deal for $54.14. Two days ago it dropped to $44.14 (+ a $10 game credit). WTF? Not complaining...just confused.

If Black Ops $20 credit isnt up by end of October I'm pre order Brotherhood and using that $10 toward Black Ops. $20 toward Brotherhood would've been better though :(

Significantly more.

Yeah, a lot more; including games that just came out too...

Halo: Reach Legendary: $150 - sold flaming helmet code for $60 = $90
Dead Rising 2 Collector's Edition: $59.99 with Halo $20 Credit
Fable 3 CE: $79.99
Fallout New Vegas CE: $79.99
SW: Force Unleashed 2 CE: $79.99
CoD: Black Ops: $59.99
Assassin's Creed BH CE: $59.99 - $40 from Fable and Black Ops credits
Dead Space 2: $59.99
Gears 3: $59.99 (gonna be more when they announce the CE and I switch preorders)

So like $630 up to when Gears 3 comes out, and most of that within the last month and the next 2 months...
Bullshit. It is happening. You know what, I'm done shopping at Amazon for my games until they get this straightened out. If you go to the Dead Rising 2 page and look at the special offers and promotions section RIGHT NOW you can see it still says:

"Order the standard version of "Dead Rising 2" and get $10 off a future purchase from the Amazon Video Games store. The promotion code will be applied directly to your Amazon.com account up to two (2) business days after your product ships. To redeem your reward, add an item from the Amazon Video Games store sold and shipped by Amazon.com to your shopping cart and proceed to checkout. The discount will be visible after you have begun the checkout process. Offer valid when shipped and sold by Amazon.com. This offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders. Amazon reserves the right to change or terminate this promotion at any time. Offer valid for one purchase per customer. Here's how (restrictions apply)"
Well they changed the wording know. I'm guessing they could always hide behind the reserving the right part. I had to complain but I got my $10 credit. CSR told me I'd get my avatar code in 5 business days. Jeez gonna have to wait from now on when preordering until the credit is listed. This is very shady and I'm very disappointed with Amazon. They're service is usually great.

Yeah their CS had been extremely good. I dont know whats going on with them this last year but it's just gone down hill. In the end I cant complain too much because although it may take more emails than it should, I've gotten any issues I've had straightened out so far.

They really need to fix the game credit issues though, I've had at least 2 this year I've had to go back and forth on before actually getting it. Sometimes I get the credits almost instantly, sometimes I get them within a few days, and sometimes I dont get a thing until I contact them..

Does amazon have a new promotional credit feature now? just a week ago it listed that i had "$10 Promotional credit" and a "$20 Promotional credit". now when checking out it shows they put it together and it says apply "$30 promotional credit" Is this new? is there any way to seperate it?
Well crap, Gears of War 3 has officially been delayed until Fall 2011. That sucks
It had a release date? I don't remember expecting it this year TBH.

It was suppose to come out April next year.

Ha, well I guess M$ had to fill a void since they don't have a Halo game to promote. Honestly, I'm bored with Gears so I'm indifferent on the delay.

After not seeing the credit and reading the past few pages, I emailed Amazon about my DR2 credit. Their reply:

"Hello,

I'm sorry you haven't still received your promotional credit.

I'd like to give you a $10.00 promotional certificate, which you can use the next time you order an item shipped and sold by Amazon.com.
"

They didn't answer about the avatar code yet, but since it appears as though no one has received them yet I'll be patient. I was unhappy with Amazon about this, but they also just sent me a $5 credit for my Iron Man 2 blu-ray purchase. They dropped the price $5 and sent me the credit before I even noticed the price drop.

i hope the delay with gears doesn't cause them to drop the credit for whatever reason (like with nba elite).

yeah thats actually completely the reason. MS said it wasn't because Epic needs more time to work on it, but because they want to release it in the holiday time.

i hope epic decides to do more with the game in the time being.

Might as well preorder the game now then, doesn't hurt afterall. You can always cancel the order later.

o yeah i already preordered it last week, but it would just make things simpler if it didn't change lol.

although this did remind me to get a screenshot of it too.

Guess we're not the only ones to notice. Makes me wonder what M$ will do now that their flagship has sailed. Now that Fable is hitting the PC again, I'm looking forward to the day I can ditch their faulty hardware for good.
looks like Fable 3 CE $20 credit is gone?
It's still there, scroll down the page a little.

Going to rack up some Amazon trade in credit for the upcoming games with credit. Hopefully a great deal on LBP 2 pops up and some credit shows up for Killzone 3 and Twisted Metal.
Does the PS3 version of MOH still come with Frontlines? I can't find anything mentioned about it on the amazon site.
Yes, Frontlines is supposed to come with every PS3 version of MoH Limited Edition. All of the copies at launch are considered "Limited Edition," so they will all have Frontlines included.
Come on amazon, wtf, send the dead rising credit already
If you pre-ordered before they started to offer the DR2 credit, you should just go ahead and e-mail them and get your credit that way. Otherwise, it's probably not going to come. That's what a couple of CAGs and I were discussing a few pages ago. We all had to e-mail Amazon to get our credit.

Is there really a credit on "PS Move Bundle"? Looks like Kinect Bundle has the credit. :p

Edit: Ah I see, there's a software bundle credit when you buy PS Move Starter with games.
hmm time to fire off an angry email when I don't get my credit then! yeah I did pre-order when the promo offer was gone :bomb:
Huh? You pre-ordered before there was a credit, or you pre-ordered after the credit was gone?

If you pre-ordered after they took the deal away, you don't get a credit.
