Or you could just go to Toys R Us and Target on launch day and buy them for MSRP. I get that people are panicking about this, but if you make some minimal effort, it's not that hard to get each figure.

No problem, however is that pic from the downstairs area? I don't recall seeing Marth or Villager stocked there. Did they do ANOTHER restock since I left???

NWS frequently restocks their items throughout the day on a normal basis, they don't put overstock out on the floor, so I can see them doing that.

 
Bestbuy in Manattan Kansas had one Mac, one Dddy, a bunch of zelda, one fox and a bunch of the non rare phase one.  They won't sell Mac until the 19th.  The guy said they had a box full in the back and that one just got out early.  Time will tell if that's true.  And he also said Luigi is backordered for whatever that's worth.

 
Well I just ended up placing an order through Amazon France for WFT, Marth, and Rosalina. It came out to just under $20 each (about 47 euro with shipping I believe) It won't ship until about the 3rd week of January, so that gives me plenty of time to see whether 1)US prices go down after christmas, 2)more stock of these amiibo comes in, 3)Rosalina comes back up for pre-order, or 4)if I just plain decide that I actually don't want these amiibo. Figured it's a safe hedge and makes it interesting to try to find a better deal domestically.

 
With so many US people buying foreign-packaged amiibo, I think its only going to drive up the value of the original US figures, and certainly make buying "CIB" amiibo 2nd-hand more complicated for purists when you have to ask everytime about the packaging.

My only problem is that the closest best buy, target, or toys r us are at least 100 miles away. I'm unfortunately relying on online pre-orders/orders for items like this. We only have GS and Walmart.
 
Is there really anything different about the UK Amiibo boxes? I just bought two villagers from Amazon UK earlier today. Was going to sell one of them to cover the cost of both of them.

Anecdotally, yes. Last I checked BBY was no longer shipping Fox and Amazon didn't have a first party listing. Local GS stores mostly have 0-1 Foxes and 2-3 Samus. Some local Targets are out of Fox and varying level of Samus. Local BBY was down to 2-3 each of Samus and Fox when I picked them up the other day. DK I've seen a couple stores that were lower on stock but were still 4-6 of him so I don't think he's going to be going out any time soon but I've noticed slightly less lately.

In other areas people have reported totally different things so it's hard to judge over such a short period but there's been similar reports from other regions.

That's my problem. Best Buy and TRU are only about 40 miles from me though, still way too far for being able to make frequent trips. Wal Mart, Target, and GameStop are about 12 miles. My GS only gets what is preordered on most Nintendo stuff though, so it's still basically useless to me.

Yes, there is a difference. The UK box says "Super Smash Bros Collection" on the left side where our "Mario" would be. And on the right side they have "No.1 Mario" (and have a different number for each amiibo). I posted links/pics awhile back, but it was probably 15,000 pages ago now :(

Yup. Thus the "sale" in quotations -- not really much of a deal when they charge more than others normally.

Thanks ive been wanting to get more if wave 1 but assumed the only ones to look out for were the big three. I think it makes sense for fox and samus to be getting lower, donkey kong on the other hand is almost as iconic as mario so you would think Nintendo would make more of them.

Interesting how the Nintendo store is getting a restock on the mighty three.

Picked up "The Rare Three" around 1:30pm est.  Going by the first CAG report, the tweet time, and tweets complaining these weren't in stock in the morning gives me a good idea from now on of when I should take lunch and not waste time when the store opens.

I did not bother to go to the second floor and did not see any of them on the peg wall on first floor as I waited online for 20 minutes.  There were a lot of tourists walking around with them.

No idea to gauge stock as employees from the back come back and forth with more to put behind the counter.  I actually don't know why they would have the rare three out in the first place.

I may have time for "a break" when more people go home :whistle2: and definateky going before I head home.  I plan on picking up another Marth and Villager.  If anyone wants a WFT let me know.  I'd be willing to trade for an exclusive (Rosalina, Lucario, Metaknight, or Shulk) or nice Nintendo swag!

you got it! Villager is actually one of my favorite Amiibo designs. I'm surprised there aren't nendoroids with different faces/outfits yet...

As per a Nintendo World employee (one of the guys that has been there since I have been attending events beginning of 2013).

Retailers such as Best Buy, GameStop, and Toys R Us should receiving shipments today/tomorrow. Unsure if he specifically meant The Rare Three or just wave 1 in general. He did not mention Target or Walmart. He said Luigi should be next week.

We officially need an Amiibo Master Trade List. Mods, if you're reading this, make it happen! Sure there will be a lot of things like "H: Diddy Kong. W: Villager", but I think it's necessary at this point with all the different store exclusives people are struggling with.

Well, clearly not many people are doing that considering they're selling for $50 on ebay. Hell, I JUST sold one on ebay for $50. The difference is that it's not available online and it seems the general population would rather order it that way.

I think I'm going to swing by BB and get a Fox on my way home. I already broke my rule of buying only characters that I specifically wanted when I bought Little Mac. Seems like Fox is the next character from wave 1 that will be disappearing from shelves.
 
Regarding wave 1, I have only checked 1 Target and Walmart store (only once each).  I have only checked 2 different Best Buys (one store basically every week) but probably should check the others in the area.  I have been to 8 different Gamestops with a few visted several times (can probably check over a dozen each).  Oh and 1 TRU - the biggass Times Square one.

Anyway Fox and Samus seem to be the uncommons of "The Normal Nine" of wave 1.  Yoshi next. Link and Donkey Kong probably next.  Mario and Peach next.  Kirby and Pikachu have probably always been in stock whenever I have checked a store.
