Stopped at TRU on the way home and found the last Luigi amiibo. Figured I would get it so I can at least secure one in case BB decides to cancel my order when it comes out. Gonna be an exciting day to see what Best Buy does for me tomorrow. Hopefully no shenanigans will occur. 

 
Picked up Luigi at TRU today. Now to just wait for Capt Falcon and Pit. Pre-ordered through Best Buy but we all know how that can go. Will have to keep an eye out at TRU since that seems to be the go to place for Amiibo.

No pattern emerged at all. Bottom line, best buy took too many preorders and can't deliver the goods. Do not count on best buy for amiibos in the future, it's that simple. Toys r us has seen every wave, every figure, and made them available before anyone else. Not worth 20 percent discount for a cancellation then a last minute scramble to find your figure somewhere

Yeah, I have brought like 80% of mine from there or Meijer, like 2 from BBY, and the Holy Trinity from Walmart.

Gamestop and Best Buy have been fail ever since the first wave passed, and Walmart just doesnt care.

Lol at the Little Mac fiasco. The second I saw him I thought, " yep, Nintendo is gonna pull a fast one with him, so I'll pick him up right now." As for wave 3, I have all of them pre-ordered at Gamestop and Meta Knight at Best Buy. I have a feeling it's gonna be hard to get Rosalina and Lucario since pre-orders are sold out, but that means I'll only have trouble finding 5 Amiibos total when all is said and done.

I'm not worried though. Remember the very first Skylanders and how 2 of them (Camo and Warnado) were going for $100 on ebay and now you can find them on the clearance rack? I have a feeling some of these Amiibos will see the same fate

 
Ditto on what people have said about Lucario preorder cards still in TRU stores. I called the local one yesterday and was told they sold out of the in store preorder. I was in the store today and they had ALOT of them. Not sure it will help when trying to get one, but for $1 it's worth a shot.

BTW - my Villager I ordered from BB a couple weeks ago finally made it back to the local usps hub and was delivered today in good shape. Was happy about that!

AP: If you discontinue certain "amiibo" figures, will you continue to include them digitally in future games?
 
Miyamoto: We're not making promises for certain figures, but the way "amiibo" is designed is that certain games can have "amiibo" specifically for that game. Other games can take advantage of past "amiibo" that developers want to make their game compatible with. In the future, we have the option, if certain "amiibo" figures are no longer available in stores, to release an "amiibo" in card form with the same functionality."

Walmart will still be selling the Mario amiibo in 2025 when the Wii U's successor has come and gone. Sorta like the old PS2 games they still have for $19.96 and up.

 
There should be an Amiibo master trade thread. Maybe we could even connect with other CAGs to pick up Amiibos for one another and such.

That would be amazing since I found a great place that I can pick up most amiibos before others so I can easily get a few. The day Diddy and Little Mac came out I was at a place and it had all of them but I decided to wait until the next day. The next day no more Diddy Kongs.

Given how people are starting to receive Capt. Falcon and Pit in the Northwest, I'm really considering checking my local Toys R Us stores (and other stores) tomorrow to see if they got both of those figures in (and then subsequently cancel my Best Buy order that I did as a precaution).
