That reminds me, does anyone have that pic of Goldberg where he has that goofy look on his face? He's kind of smiling like a retard (I know that isn't the PC term but I don't know how else to say it). God that picture is hilarious.

This week's Smackdown sounds lame, especially when trying to build up some matches(Angle doesn't have anyone from HBK's past this week :( ).

But thank god there's no diva matches this week. Cause after last week's match, they seriously need to train those girls. The crowd sounded like they were dead during that match.

Huh. Nothing new there; I didn't read what they did with Kurt Angle, but judging by the spoilers, one of the SD! titleholder must have been injured enough to drop the belt. Watch and see.

myke.
What I really want to know concerning the Smackdown! spoilers is...

Was Bob Orton wearing the cast!?

If not, was he wearing that awful leather-tasseled pullover thing?

Well, long short short...My Mom is moving and she had had some of my "boxes of crap from when I was younger" still in storage in the basement so I went to liberate it all and take it back to Camp JimmieMac.

These are some pics of things I think the rasslin thread would enjoy:

This is the cards from some events I went to when I was younger:

Choice pics - do they still hand out cards at house shows? I only attended one house show (ever!) and left early, since it occurred to me that I wasn't going to be getting any from the person accompanying me that night. To think I missed Cactus Jack for that (that being nothing). For shame, myke! For shame!

Those of you too young to really be into Jake the Snake - pay careful attention to that last picture, then think of Raw two weeks ago.

myke.

The card was in a program, the program was like WWF Magazine Lite. It was just a piece of paper stuck inside. The programs were, if I recall correctly, more feud related so if you showed up to see the Undertaker vs. Nailz you knew why.

You know, tonight's SD is very good so far.

Plenty of wrestling, and short, concise segments.

The CW title match was dogshit; that's nothing new, since WWE cruiserweights aren't allowed to wrestle a cruiserweight match.

However, something fascinating: Jerry Lawler is *on* tonight; he makes sense in his dialogue, he's comical, relevant, and is just incredible. I'm not saying he's better than Tazz (I've not been paying attention lately in order to say if Tazz is any good or not), but I am saying that he's much different now that he's not with JR.

myke.

anyone know if they stuck Conan O' Brian in WM XXI the game? They showed him in a segment fighting Big Show and it was great. He was like the most flamboyant wrestler ever (when he touched his ass, his heat meter went through the roof)
Where in the world did you see this?
it was on Conan O' Brian earlier (a repeat of last nights episode). They went through the effort of actually making him a character, so I figure he might end up being unlockable. Big Show is also a regular, so maybe he was able to pull some strings to get him into the game

Maybe a Lawler for Tazz trade during the draft? That would make the announcing teams terribly uneven, because Tazz's announcing is superb, but it's not like Raw isn't already much better than Smackdown.

Ya know I wish I still had my lists of matches from all the WWE shows I went to. Oh well. I remember some of the main events, but that's about it. The best match I can recall seeing live was at the Vengeance PPV in 2002, it was (don't look now myke) Undertaker vs Kurt vs The Rock. I thought Kurt would win for sure, there were so many near falls that I don't think anyone in attendance really knew who would end up winning. In the end the Rock scored the pinfall over Kurt and the crowd went absolutely nuts. I think that was the last time the Rock won the title.

I also vividly remember the SD before Wrestlemania 17 (I think) in Detroit, the highlight of that show was the final breakdown between Austin and the Rock leading up to their huge re-match at WM. For weeks there had been some "accidental" bumps, but this was all intentional and as Rock and Austin stood in the ring you just knew something was about to break, and sure enough the fists flew and the two went at it like crazy.

Finally I also remember the Raw in which Austin made his return to Detroit for the first time since he got ran over by Rikishi (God what a horrid storyline) I remember this well mainly because they replayed Austin's little rant over and over while hyping up the big Austin/Rikishi showdown, and if you look closely you will notice a Horse holding up a big orange sign that reads: "I

My Mania predictions:

Eddie vs. Rey Mysterio

Rey wins when he turns heel via Chavo interference.

Big Show vs. Akebono

The crowd loses when Big Show comes out in a diaper.

Trish Stratus vs. Christy Hemme

Trish wins when Lita turns on Christy.

6-Man Ladder Match

Edge steals it out from under the nose of Kane.

Randy Orton vs. The Undertaker

The Undertaker wins decisively enough to "put Randy out for months".

HBK vs. Kurt Angle

Shawn wins and is drafted to Smackdown! to continue the feud.

John Cena vs. JBL

JBL manages to retain until the next PPV.

HHH vs. Batista

Batista captures the title. I want to say that Flair will turn, but I can't logically see it happening.

Eddie vs. Rey Mysterio

Rey Wins

Big Show vs. Akebono

Akebono wins

Trish Stratus vs. Christy Hemme

Christy wins, only to lose title the next night on Raw.

6-Man Ladder Match

Christian wins.

Randy Orton vs. The Undertaker

The Undertaker wins.

HBK vs. Kurt Angle

Angle wins.

John Cena vs. JBL

Cena wins.

HHH vs. Batista

HHH wins via interference from a "new" evolution member.

Smackdown was OK, not great. The damn thing about the Bob Orton appearance - man, that was the EXACT same stunt they pulled during the breakup of Los Guerreros at the end of 2003 going into the Royal Rumble (where Benoit won, and Eddie fought Chavo). To try to quell the feud, Chavo Guerrero Sr. (aka Chavo Classic... I loved that gimmick) came in as a peacemaker... only to screw Eddie. This was only a little over a year ago. Sheesh. We don't all have short-term memories....

My WM Predictions (not too radical, I don't think)

Eddie vs. Rey Mysterio
Rey turns heel because, well, what else are they gonna do? Turn Eddie heel? No way, he gets the best face pops aside from Cena on Smackdown. I think Eddie will get the win anyway since he's gotten jobbed out so many times in the last few months, but they'll continue the feud into the next PPV.

Big Show vs. Akebono
Who cares? Is there any point to this?

Trish Stratus vs. Christy Hemme
More or less the same reaction... Turning Lita heel somewhat makes sense since she's starting to get booed anyway, but storyline-wise... not at all. Hence I'm leaning towards Trish going over with Lita's help.

6-Man Ladder Match
Edge. Though I'd love Christian to get a world title shot, he isn't really credible yet. None of the faces will win. Kane would be interesting too. But it'll probably be Edge. This match is perfect for some kind of heel turn, I think, though.

Randy Orton vs. The Undertaker
Undertaker. If they break his streak for Orton.... I don't want to think about it. And c'mon, face or heel, we all wanna see Randy get his ass beat. OTOH that same quality might give him a good heel run following a fluke victory...

HBK vs. Kurt Angle
Angle, I HOPE. Really. As myke said he's done most of the work in this, and has the most to gain from winning. I think he's been stumbling ever since losing that 3-on-1 to Big Show back in December, I knew he had no chance winning that 3-way for the WWE title at the Royal Rumble.

John Cena vs. JBL
Cena. It's possible they'll have him lose by some kind of interference, DQ, or other cheating tactics and give him the belt the next month. But JBL's title reign and Cena's build up has been going on for long, they might as well use the opportunity now. "The Time is Now" after all.

HHH vs. Batista
Who doesn't want Batista to win? (Regardless of whether you think he'll be a good champion afterwards.) HHH retains, though dirty.

And: Ok... are they gonna do something with Booker T's wife at WM? Involving Heidenreich? ... I hope not.
Also: Any one have a clip of Conan in the WM XXI game?

I doubt it, EA also did the same thing with him in one of the last few Tiger Woods games, and he never ended up in the game. They just used the CAW stuff and make someone similar to him. It was pretty funny seeing him punch the Big Show in the nuts.

Damn it, looks like I missed Big Show on Conan! Anyone know if the episode is going to be repeated soon?

in the money in the bank ladder match Eddie Guerrero will win... Im thinking Edge will get the Briefcase and open it up and their will be a picture of Guerrero inside instead of a contract. Then Edge would be like NO ive been screeewed

http://poll.wwe.com/results.php
Here's the results so far from the Wrestlemania trailers.

Also WWE.com update the Babe of the Year section with a "April Showers" theme
http://www.wwe.com/superstars/babeoftheyear/photos/april/april_showers/index.jsp

Might just be me, but the pics with the rain jacket don't seem too good. The others had me do a double take, cause I could swear that Trish did a Babe of the Year photo shoot with those same type of clothes and poses.

Also, The Hurricane was interviewed yesterday and mentioned that there's a 30 man(15 from Raw, 15 from Smackdown) Battle Royal on the card. Which he didn't mention what the prize is. I guess this is the WWE's way of getting every superstar on TV during Wrestlemania.

-- The Hurricane said in a recent interview that there will be a 30-man Battle Royal at this weekend's WrestleMania, featuring 15 RAW wrestlers, and 15 from Smackdown. There is no word on what the winning prize will be.

hmmm, I wouldn't mind seeing that. Also a good way to give the talent from both shows who doesn't work that night a match.

I believe the prize is an ACTUAL match at next years WM. Not a bad idea, I guess, although you really gotta feel sorry for the first guy to get tossed... although my gut feeling is that person will be Hassan.

My WM Predictions (as cut and pasted)

Eddie vs. Rey Mysterio
Rey turns heel - maybe. Rey needs to win if he's the heel, or else he'll stumble out of the starting block. He can lose (via Eddie cheating) and attack him after the match - but who's the heel then? I say Eddie wins in a very clean match, surprising us all. What's not surprising? This match will go 7 minutes or less, in a four-hour plus show.

Big Show vs. Akebono
Err - the crowd's collective bladder wins. Maybe Akebono's checkbook. Nobody else.

Trish Stratus vs. Christy Hemme
I agree with leaning towards Trish going over with Lita's help. It's a toss-up between someone going heel in this match or the Rey/Eddie match. Keep in mind that Trish's turn was just one WM ago; is the WWE bland enough to repeat this with Lita? You and I know the answer to that question.

6-Man Ladder Match
Edge; I would love to see a heel turn that leads to an extended feud between Benoit and Benjamin, and take them out of contention. Kane will serve as little other than the "house cleaner" in this match. Christian, god bless him, will bump his ass off and be generally awesome. Who's the #6 guy? If I can't remember, he must not matter? Oh yeah, Jericho. Ha. Picking up dogshit before WMX8 will remain his greatest wrestlemania moment.

Randy Orton vs. The Undertaker
Did you see Undertaker/Heidenreich at RR 2005? Rinse, lather, repeat. If you think different, you've never seen UT wrestle.

HBK vs. Kurt Angle
Strangely enough, I think Angle is the emotional favorite to win the match, and HBK is the expected favorite to win (at least among those here). Who will win? I'd say it's 55-45 Angle right now; the better politician will win, and those who watch this match will most certainly win.

John Cena vs. JBL
John Cena has some catchy new entrance music, and lotsa merchandise. He's been a top good guy for quite some time, and may lose a lot of steam if he doesn't win the belt here. Nevertheless, one truism in wrestling is that you can't have all babyfaces hold the titles at once: thus, JBL wins when the entire state of California interferes on his behalf.

HHH vs. Batista
I think with the obvious exceptions ('taker), I've picked all heels to win. I guess I must counter my own instincts in order to balance things out, and this sounds like the most probable. Batista wins, though smellhasreturned gains the opportunity to see HHH start title reign #11 up close and personal. The match won't be very good, but it will be a "two minutes in the match and out of the ring" kind of brawl, like HHH had with Austin during the later part of Austin's career. Walking back and forth between places to slam your opponent's head takes up a lot of time, you know. Crowd eats it up.

Thirty-man match: winner receives a gift certificate at Bennigans. My vote is for Booker T, just as a sentimental favorite.

myke.
...I'll only be 30% right, just you watch.

 For some reason I don't doubt it.

Anyone else think Austin will involve himself in the main event?

I see Carlito screwing Booker to win, starting up a feud between them.

And I really hope Carlito doesn't still use the leg on the head spinning neckbreaker that Orton and Elix Skipper used to use as his finisher. Although that's still better than a punch.

What do you guys think of this pic. Guess who the guy in the middle is.

I don't know if I hate him more because he's an idiot conservative (he recently wrote a commentary supporting the death of Terry Schiavo, but made sure to mention - in italics to show his seriousness - that he did not agree with "liberals."; for a person who speaks so highly of being true to oneself, having honesty, integrity, and all that bullshit, he's unecessarily defensive here - since he's lying about not agreeing with liberals).

Oh, yes...wrestling thread. Any way, I don't know if I dislike him more for his political beliefs, his dialectical opacity (and what a perfect way to phrase *that*), or the fact that he was the Ultimate Warrior.

Speaking of which, he's confirmed as a legend in GC Day of Reckoning 2. Gamespot has pics of the game up (just Booker, Kane, and Benoit, methinks); the Gamecube doesn't get nearly enough credit for its visuals, as DOR2 looks excellent.

So, my XBL gamertag, strangely enough, is mykevermin. Add me to your friends list so I can school you in WM21 with my CAW of Skinner.

Shall we let ZL do the honors of creating the CAG Heavyweight title to defend online?

bitches.

myke.
...well, when the game comes out, of course.

Warrior looks... weird.

Anyway, I read about Day of Reckoning 2 at Gamespot, and Warrior is one of the confirmed legends in the game, along with Hulk Hogan and Mankind.

The tru warrior OD'ed on drugs years ago I remember reading about it in the papers. he has a brother who has appeared as him in last couple years a few times. you can see difference in them when looking at the two

..except for the fact that none of that crap ever happened.

It's the same Warrior. There was a Warrior clone in WCW called "Renegade", and he ended up killing himself a few years back. But no, Hellwig (who changed his legal name to Warrior) has always been and will always be the Ultimate Warrior.

I'm still amazed that people believe that rumor about the guy that came back as the Ultimate Warrior was a different guy. If it was, you would be able to notice the difference.

People said the same shit about Brutis "The Barber" Beefcake. IIRC, he got in a parasailing accident and had some bolts put into his face to mend his skull and since he looks a bit different after getting his squash squished, this rumor started that it was a new guy.

Myke- I'll go with my favorite wrestler ever, Bret Hart, and play against you and your Skinner CAW online. Tuesday in Texas rematch!

I plan on getting the game when it's released, and my Gamertag is MattYoung. I'm up for a league or whatever you want to call it. The title shall be mine.

By the way, less than 24 hours til WrestleMania! Although tickets were made available to me for the Hall of Fame ceremony tonight and Raw Monday, I couldn't afford to go. However, I will be at WrestleMania 21.

I'll be wearing a bright red shirt and black jeans. I've worn the shirt to the last few shwos I've attended, and it's easy to spot me if the camera is pointed in my general direction. Also, you guys know what I look like. If anyone else is going to the show, I'll be there early, so feel free to shout "WOOO!" and chop me.

I guess you are one of the people who also believes that Kerry Von Eric dressed up as the Warrior from time to time. Including Wrestlemania VIII.

Now onto something different. I found this site http://www.steveswrestling.com/info/facts.html it has some wrestling facts on it that are pretty interesting. I really liked this one.

"Apparently feeling he had nothing to lose, Sid Vicious double-crossed Vince McMahon by kicking out of Hulk Hogan's leg drop at WrestleMania VIII. Sid had been caught cheating on a drug test a few weeks earlier and was going to be suspended. Sid's manager, Harvey Wippleman (who is said to have supplied Sid with the false urine sample that WWE official Dave Hebner found Sid carrying in a vile) reacted quickly, jumping into the ring and getting his man disqualified before all hell broke loose."

Roddy Piper was the best man at Ric Flair's wedding. That doesn't suprise me after watching the Hall of Fame induction.

When Shawn Michaels was attacked outside of a nightclub by approximately 10 "thugs" (actually it was by a marine group), Shawn was accompanied by Davey Boy Smith and Sean Waltman (Syxx-Pac). Shawn tried to be the brave one, and he ended up suffering for it.

Sid Vicious once backed down from a fight with Brian Pillman in a hotel bar, retreated to his car to arm himself with a weapon with which to defend himself, and returned clutching a squeegee.

Former Washington Redskins head coach George Allen once offered Andre The Giant a contract to play professional football.

These are great :)

• Kevin Nash played Super Shredder in "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II" the movie.

that one is awesome

• Back in the 1980's, Hulk Hogan's opponents were banned from mentioning his receeding hairline in interviews.
