'Cause all us negros grew up in the hood...yo...LOL.

All kidding aside, until J.R. starts saying Shelton "represented his homies" in the ring, I am not to concerned. If anything Vince probably told him to say it through the headset.
I don't blame JR; he's high enough in the company that it's clear his ass-kissing is first rate. That, combined with Vince's notorious need to control everything, makes your point rather valid. It's not as bad as basing a bad guy's entire character off of having him bleach his hair blonde and call himself the "natural" (Butch Reed, FYI).

I must admit I was totally stoked by the Rockers' entrance. Shame that La Resistance can't even be taken seriously against a tag team that hasn't been together for 14 years or more.

myke.
omg go see the new entrances at xbox ign......now thats the mankind song ive been hoping they would put in....awesome!!!!
I'm on a slow connection. Is it his first WWE theme or the one with the car wreck at the beginning?

Nice Christygasm.

LOL OMG @ Linda~! Good to see her on TV, I haven't seen her in a long time. I'm sure she didn't REALLY need what Christy was having, seeing as how she has the genetic jackhammer at home and all.
Damn well better be the car wreck one.
Why would it be the car wreck one.. oh nevermind, you're right. I was thinking older Mankind, with ode to freud or whatever playing as he walked out in the brown suit, but he's got the white shirt and tie in the game, right? Yeah, then it should be the car one.

Damn well better be the car wreck one.
hell no....that one sucks ass

its the first mankind theme...]
Hell yeah, the first theme is badass.

One question thouch, why no brown suit? I loved the orginal Mankind gimmick.

No kidding. I want the brown suit.

Did they just miscue the music for the WGTT instead of Hassan?
Does anybody know what went on between michaels and Janetty behind the scenes? Were/are they really friends? It seems like there's an interesting story there that hasn't been told.
Marty and Shawn were one of the few tag teams that were actually friends behind the sceens. The story has been told just not from MArtys point of view, cause he does not have shoot inteview like Shawn.
Anyone just noticed that they started to play the HAUSS (sp) theme instead of HASSAN?
Beat you to it, about 3 posts up.

Charlie Haasan!!

Yeah, I noticed that too.

I'm pissed off because I just previewed the first couple seconds of the Mankind WM21 intro vid and they have the org. Mankind music and his entrance walk. I hope Brown suit is an alt. costume. If not, I still have Warzone at least :(

All of IGN's videos are screwed up. Mankind and The Rock's entrances aren't there, instead, both files are replaced by Batista's entrance. Pictures from Foley vs. Rock are now replaced with Batista vs. Triple H. Lame.

define "just added", that's been there a while.

Gotta love the weight detection system.. Snuka lifts Andre for a piledriver.. with no weight detection system and Mankind's wrong music for the costume, it's moved from a $49.99 purchase to a $39.99 purchase.. meaning i'd shell out 40 max for it..

..but then again.. Bret Hart's in it, and his entrance is near perfect.. okay, back to $49.99.

I believe that this "Legend Mankind" is the version that won the world title. I remember when Mankind came out to the "Ode to Freud" music wearing dark pants and a white shirt with a Dude Love shirt underneath. This Mankind is the one that the fans grew to love, when they wanted him to win the world title.

Sorry if I'm confusing. :)

I'm still going with my original statement, he NEVER came out to the classical music with a white shirt and dark pants. It was always the crash. I remember because he was making his return and there was the squealing tires and I almost pissed myself because I thought Scott Hall had come back.. then he came out wearing that. Unless someone can find a video clip to prove me wrong.

Yeah I know what you are saying, but it is unacceptable to have the oldschool mankind's music, titantron, and entrance moves and not have the brown suit. Since they wanted to put the more recent mankind in the game, why not include his carwreck song, titantron, and entrance moves?

I was a big fan of the old mankind and I didn't care too much for the gimmicks after the brown suit.

yea im just super happy his titantron is in it......i would of been even more happy if rock would have come out to "do you smell what the rock is cooking" song!!!

I'm with you on that one. I know for sure that he has NEVER came out to ode to feud with the whirt shirt and sweat pants. I just downloaded the movie and I'm even more pissed right now. They even have the head for the old school mandkind (notice the patch of hair missing). All they have to do is slim that model down and throw on the brown costume.

I probably won't be buying this game until a pricedrop, even though I really want it.

Well, Raw was excellent tonight.

Edge and Shelton was great.

Benoit and HH was great; HHH finally got his receipt for all those losses to Benoit last year.

The Batista/Kane swerve was very interesting; it made sense, created tension, and looks interesting. HHH spoke usefully, kept it short, and that's always good.

The Rockers! Although it's pitiful that nobody gave La Resistance a chance, the match was good fun. I give mega bonus points to them for remembering to exit the ring the way they did after the match. Janetty also seems to avoid the trend of what happens to wrestlers who retire. He looked excellent physically.

Jake Roberts; good fun to see, it made sense, and he took the RKO well. Also, the fact that he's still living is amazing, regardless of his physical condition. I'm curious if they are trying to make Orton a heel again.

The only downside to the show was the overly predictable segment with Regal and Tajiri; I saw where it was going the moment I saw the kickpad. Lame-O.

Linda is my hero.

The Daily Show tonight was awesome as well; they interviewed a Princeton Philosophy professor who published a short essay called "On Bullshit." the book is a decent read, but a bit short (under 70 pages) for a $9 hardcover.

myke.
...I'll be officially earning my MA in a few weeks; unfortunately, in my haste to get everything finished, I scheduled my thesis defense (where I have to present my research to the entire dept.) for the morning after Wrestlemania. Since I've been working on this data for 1.5 years, I know it well enough, but it means I won't be able to drink if I do watch 'mania.

Well, I FINALLY got home from Raw a little over an hour ago. Glad to see my CAG sign was visible. Thanks for the great suggestions but I just didn't have time to make anymore. I would have loved to used "HHH fears CheapyD". Someone had one off to the side that read "Mr. Stephanie McMahon". There were also 3 idiots 2 rows in front of me who couldn't stop waving to themselves on the Titantron. Here's the best part, though. There was a dark match after Raw went off the air. Bischoff came out and told HHH not to go anywhere and said that there will be a tag match tonight before he leaves. Bischoff went for the cheap pop by saying Atlanta, which was funny since we were almost 30 minutes north of Atlanta. He then announced HHH's partner as Edge. Then he announced Batista's partner as Shawn Michaels. HHH didn't want to get in the ring w/Batista so Dave and HBK started calling him chicken and doing chicken movements w/their arms. Since HHH wouldn't take the tag Edge joined in w/the taunting. Later on Flair interferes causing, that's right, Jake Roberts to come out to the ring w/the snake out of the bag. He put the snake on Flair who took off running. Eventually Batista pinned HHH. Then Roberts DDT'd HHH and put the snake on him. HHH started to recover when Roberts put the snake in his face causing HHH to quickly turn around right into the superkick. This was one of the best episodes of Raw that I've seen in a long time and not just because I was in the arena. When Raw was here last year The Rock, Stone Cold and Mick Foley stayed in the ring for almost a half-hour after they went off the air talking w/the crowd, goofing around and just having a good time. It seems we always get a little something extra when Raw comes to town. BTW, I also saw Steve Lombardi (The Brooklyn Brawler) and Harvey Wippleman (Downtown Bruno for the old-schoolers) at Chick-Fil-A before the show. I talked to them for a couple of minutes, seem like nice enough guys.

Jake Roberts looked and sounded like shit, even though it was cool seeing him. I bet Randy Orton had to deal with a faceful of Jack Daniels on his breath.

To Scorch and RawIsJericho:

I'm starting to agree with both of you. I'm wondering if he ever did come out with the white shirt and the classic music. Maybe he did once or possibly twice, and that's why it sticks in my head, or maybe he did it at a house show I attended. Who knows...

When Mankind won the World Championship for the first time, on RAW, does anyone remember what he was wearing? I remember his music was the classic "tortured" music, but a punchier version with drum beats. Was he still the brown suit Mankind?

I definitely agree with you both that he should definitely have his classic brown suit with the symbol on his back. It just goes perfectly with everything else. Perhaps it's an unlockable costume in the Shopzone portion of the game.

By the way, RawIsJericho, not only do you have a cool username (and the nice Prior picture in your sig), but I just noticed your avatar. Kickass, dude. :)

I don't think I replied in the baseball thread, but a few days after Sosa was traded, I realized that I still am a die-hard, lifelong Cubs fan. I realized that I've seen many of my favorites (like Mark Grace) leave the team, and if I've survived that, I can survive this. I still love the team, and I'm glad that Sosa will get a fresh start somewhere else. It did wonders for Grace (World Series ring, and a broadcasting job when he retired) and I hope Sammy has a happy run. I've been listening to the Spring Training games on XM. Looks like a good team.

Plus, it's awesome that Ryno is getting inducted into the Hall of Fame. Reminds me, I need to find a place to put the bat that he signed for my brother. Heck, I have a bunch of other stuff I need to properly display, like our Sosa autographed jersey and Ernie Banks autographed helmet. A Cubs display somewhere in the house...

Darn it, I'm sorry for hijacking this wrestling thread. It's just that RawIsJericho's Cub spirit is infectious. :)

Here's a funny image I found a long time ago somewhere (maybe it was here). Found it while sorting through media folders on my PC:

Actually he started wearing the white shirt when he went back to being Mankind(which was June '98) after being in the main event as Dude Love against Stone Cold in two PPVs. It supposed to be something like saying that he was a corporate sellout for wearing it. So he wore that for awhile before getting the new music(which he got the new music in January '99). Looking back at that, that version of the crash music sounded different(there was no clapping in the music).

As for him winning the title for the first time, he was weaing the white shirt and black sweatpants in that match. I know cause I've still got that Raw on tape(in fact I found that Halftime Heat match that The Rock and him had in a empty arena on that tape).

Y'know, as much as Mick Foley is a fantastic wrestler, a great writer, and a brilliant ideologue (I flipped my lid when I heard Cactus Jack's music as an intro to an Air America Radio promo he did last week)...

...I can't fuckin' stand sweatpants. In public even.

I'm glad I can spread the spirit! The only Cubs player autograph I have is a ball signed by Lou Brock. I can't wait for the season to start up, and I hope our pitchers can stay healthy.

From Matt Hardy at TheMattHardy.com:

"Since I figured Amy and I attending the 7 seconds show would eventually come out, here is the deal. Amy and I talked about some things that night and went to the show. Kevin Seconds asked us to take a picture with him, which we gladly did. Remember my post about mistakes? As far as not attending events, no one has ever been worried about Amy and I getting into a physical confrontation. Like I said before, as upset as I may be with Amy, I obviously still care and hopes she clears her head--for her sake. I wish all of this was a work.

Matt "

I need to point something else out: Three weeks, three ROH regulars jobbing to Chris Masters.

Three weeks ago: Pure Wrestling Champion (not anymore) John Walters
Last week: "Iceman" Caprice Coleman
Yesterday: Jimmy Rave

What's the pay out? A revolt of the "jobbers"? Where does it go next?
