Anime & Manga Thread Vol. 2: Za Warudo!!!

I didn't really like GBF: IW. Too much ship bait. I only liked the ending. Here's to waiting for the Build Fighters OVA. And possibly a S3.

Honestly, I rather have Team Try's Secret Weapon be the fusion of all 3 of their Gunpla. Not another stupid power up.

Also, Yuuma doesn't deserve to be the "best Gunpla Builder" in the world. All he ever did was add a backpack and make Zeta variants. The props should go to Sakai.

I like Medaka Box. The ending was for the manga was pretty satisfying

Build Fighters is one of the only series where I actually don't mind ship bait. Dunno why.

While another power up might be a let down somewhat, I still want to get the model kit (and possibly Titans-colored Super Fumina) so it did its job.

I will agree that I wish Yuuma got to show off his skills a bit more, since his MS are the most no-nonsense of the group. Fumina has a transforming SD that enhances her partners' suits while Sekai has his flashy martial arts while Yuuma is a really good shot.

Though I should note that his original Lightning is based on the Re-GZ from Char's Counterattack rather than the Zeta itself.

Rewatching both seasons on DVD and it makes me cry that they don't have a proper dub. It's criminal.

Pokemon XY is really fun, even if it has me yelling "YOU'RE A KEEPER" every time I see my wife.

Bonnie, I love your Tyrantrum PJs, but you're killing me girl.

Watched the GBF OVA. It was okay. Nice to see Gyanko shine a little since she always seems to get shit on. Plus I always did liked the Gyan MS for some reason. Too bad a good part of the OVA was focused on Sekai's harem. The ending was nice and I always like seeing links between Try and the original Build Fighter series.

BTW any idea what Gundam the enemy was modeled after? I kept pausing it to get an idea but I just can't place it.

Started the despair arc Danganronpa 3 and after a couple episodes I switched to Future because it was kind of boring. After the first episode I can definitely say
Monokuma's Japanese voice sucks. He sounds like a kid. Unfortunately the dub voice isn't the one from the games so that's unfortunate. I would have paid to watch the dub if it was

I just finished Haganai Next...for the second time. Didn't realize I had already seen this until episode 10 (of 12). Hoping they get a season 3 soon as the light novels are up to 11 I believe. Seems each season is based off of 4 light novels.

Currently watching Bakemonogatari, three episodes in, fun so far :)

I remember I watched Hagani but I don't remember a damn thing about the show. It blends with a dozen other similar shows.

Haganai is hilarious. Really hoping for a season 3.

Finally got to watching A-Channel. It's a good slice-of-life. Not at the level of Lucky Star or Azumanga Daioh, but enjoyable nonetheless.

If you don't mind spoilers, I can tell you how it ended in the Light Novel.

The MC chose to remain friends with everyone. Did not hook up with Sena or Yozora. Even in the time skip. Yozora even starts training as a butler or something to Sena.

There was no pay off at all

I liked Hagani more when it was called My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU. Seriously they're the same damn show, down to the low key MC, black haired tsundere and their school club. Not sure what came first but I thought SNAFU was the better of the two.

But Haganai predates SNAFU...

Ash is actually a really great Trainer. However, the writers force him to lose the Pokémon League all the time.

How the shit is Clemont a gym leader? He's the worst trainer I've ever seen.
o_O Which episode are you on? Because Clemont was able to battle Ash's Pikachu to a standstill with a Pokémon he caught only a few hours before and his battle with Ash as a Gym Leader was freaking awesome.

Alderamin on the Sky unfortunately hasn't been as strong as earlier episodes. On the up side it looks like things are picking up since episode 8 ended on a strong emotional note. Hopefully we can see Solork pull another rabbit out of his hat.

Hm so this last episode of RE: Zero was interesting. I still feel like I'm constantly waiting for the next shoe to drop though. I really hope this show doesn't get picked up by Aniplex. Their prices make my eyes bleed.

Yeah it seems like it's kind of muddling around a bit. They could have literally cut out one or two episodes and stitched together one that did what those two did better.

Hopefully these last few episodes were exposition for some more fun strategic military fun. Even though it is muddling around the show does seem to move at a very fast pace. The last 2 episodes took place in the span of several weeks.

Looking forward to ReZero tonight.

there isn't any chance aniplex picks it up.

aniplex only picks up shows aniplex japan makes and they didn't make this one. (not trying to pick on you but lots of people keep saying that and I am hoping this help makes it clear that the only shows aniplex picks up are aniplex shows)

it's most likely a crunchyroll license that they just haven't announced home video rights to yet.

:whee:

ReZero needs more despair.
I agree. Things have been going a little too smooth. It's making me uneasy and I think something reeeeealy bad is going to happen soon.

Is Ram Sloth?!?!

Watching DBZ Super and I don't remember hearing Yajirobi's Japanese voice. Dear god it's the complete opposite of his English dub. Instead of being low and burly it's high pitch & squeaky. Sorry Japan but give another point to the English dub.

Of course Aniplex won't license it.

Because Pony Canyon will license it. :)
are they actually still releasing stuff?

I never hear anything about them.

to be fair, aniplex actually has good shows while pony canyon..... not so much :p

of course I am assuming you are also making a joke here as ponycan only licenses ponycan stuff :p

they are releasing a full version of spice and wolf light novels in a single book as a collectors edition. it's up on amazon for $150 (for 17 volumes)

though the thing is hideous.

The font on that book doesn't look legible at all...that being said, I dig real books :D

I don't know if Mayumi Tanaka (who also plays Krillin and Monkey D. Luffy) can do deep very well.

Then again, this is the series that has had Goku, his dad, his sons, and all evil counterparts voiced by the same woman.

I started watching Clannad again but this time decided to go with the sub. Wow, what an improvement. I don't know what it was with the dub but it felt awkward and the jokes were poorly delivered. The sub is defiantly the way to go with this one. I don;t know what took me so long.

I'm not saying she should talk deeply but I just don't ever remember hearing his Japanese vo. So when Yajirobe showed up I was a little shocked when he spoke.

I was tempted when I first heard about this earlier todY, but I'll.definitely pass. Would rather have the mangas and light novels and all the art to go with it on my shelf.

The Promised Neverland is officially joining Weekly Shonen Jump, which is good to see. I'm curious as to how the manga will go after this first arc is completed.

Meanwhile, finished rewatching Build Fighters and Build Fighters Try. Still kicks so much ass and the Super Fumina is still hilarious.

Out of nowhere I had an itch to watch Zoids: Chaotic Century again. Even if the dub and the battles are really quaint and not exactly the best, the series still has an odd charm too it. Also glad I bought the DVDs when they came out, as they're expensive as hell now.

That's the BEST use of that picture for a meme I've seen in a looooooooooong time. Lol! I felt the same way as well btw.
At first, I felt sad. Then I remember when
Gray died and they used a Reverse Time Spell
.

Now I hope Gray returns Juvia's feelings. LOL

Or the more recent...

Gajeel died/got sent to the underworld and re-appeared because of Erza's mom casting some uber world-remaking magic spell

Edit: Oh I do like the super saiyan look Gray had at the end of that chapter. Let's see some frosty kamehameha battles!

Mob Psycho ep7 was a bit boring but ep8 made up for it. Insane fight scene with that crazy animation I've come to love so much.

New Game continues to be charming. Not one of my favorites this season but it's far from being dropped. It's just a "good" show.

I'm caught up with this season so I'm thinking about finally getting into Amanchu and This Art Club Has a Problem. Anybody kept up with these?

Yeah I've kept up with both. Amanchu is still a very casual and light show. Average I'd say, but nice when you want something to take the edge off the last episode of Berserk. This Art Club Has a Problem is entertaining, but also average. Another light show that tries to be a comedy, but doesn't do anything new, so it becomes average.

I just finished "Your Lie In April", I did not come into this anime expecting to touch my heart in such a way, much less so strongly.  I'm surprised there weren't tears in my eyes, but, no, I'm just choked up.  I don't buy much anime these days, but if it weren't for Aniplex's stupid prices, I would've immediately bought the entire series.

You're not alone, I choked up a bit too. Despite it's sad ending it's nice to watch a slice of life that isn't all fun & games with your typical teenage cliches. And visually it's a beautiful show.
