Anime & Manga Thread Vol. 2: Za Warudo!!!

You know, there are times where you only learn to truly appreciate good Mobile Suit designs after building the model kit. I thought Wing Zero's design was pretty good in the anime, but after building its kit I like its design a lot more now.

Any idea when Log Horizon, Yowapeda, Kuroko Basketball & Space Brothers are coming back... if they're coming back?

1. Anything else good thats recently completed.

2. Wheres a good place you guys watch your anime?

If you like Gundam you will love Build Fighters. It's free subbed on the official Gundam YouTube channel and Season 2 starts in October.

I don't need to be legal.

I'm trying to find the good stuff from the past decade that I've missed. Attack on titan are not finished and was dissappointed when I found out.

I enjoyed Golden Time and Kill la Kill immensely.

I watch mostly on Crunchyroll and Funimation's youtube channel.

Also, Viz Media has all of their anime available to stream for free at neonalley.com and RightStuf has a large number of their titles on YouTube under the name nozomient.

All right, at least they all make a come back at some point.

I watched the live action Space Brothers movie and it wasn't that good. I think they got the casting wrong and Mutta is a little too serious in the movie as opposed to his more likable, goofiness in the anime.

PSN has an Anime sale on both shows and games. I picked up Tales of Symphonia Chronicles and One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 for $7.50 each. Not bad.

Devil Part Timer was fun but (not a story spoiler)
No real closure and I hate that with some anime. Especially ones I'm enjoying. I wanted more and it left me hanging.

But I watched the first episodes of Akame ga Kill and Tokyo Ghoul. Both good stuff. I will continue to watch.

if it helps there are like 10 more novels they can adapt...

though I don't know if it was popular enough to get a second season :(

I heard about this one as well. I will give it a shot after I watch the rest of these shows. I ran out of stuff to watch so I've just been looking at the 1st episodes of these recent popular titles. But these shows are a little darker than what I normally watch, which isn't bad, just a change of pace.

I have been watching Yamishibai 2. They're interesting short stories and a couple gave me chills. I'm a pussy when it comes to scary stuff.

I had a feeling the Devil Part timer story continued where the anime left off.

if you consider those titles a little darker. i can just imagine you watching aldnoah zero, and black bullet, and knights of sidonia( it is like dead space with mechas). the only recent popular titles you listed before that i considered dark is probably tokyo ghoul. Akame ga Kill has too much silly moments and jokes in every episode for me to take it too serious, even though there are alot of deaths.

When I wrote that I only watched the first episode of Akame ga Kill which ended pretty grim. But a few more episodes in I can tell the tone is a bit lighter than I orginally thought.

Is Kinghts of Sidona any good? The CG seems jarring. Does it make or break the anime?

Is there a site that streams episodes of Gundam? Hopefully something that will work off my tablet while I'm at work. I'm playing DW Gundam and I'm having this itch to watch some.

GundamOfficial on YouTube has all the post-2000 series, Zeta, Brave Battle Warriors, and Char's Counterattack, but they are all subbed aside from Warriors.

I dont see Gundam Official but I do see Gundam Info. There's a couple series there.

What do you recommend? I'm only familiar with the series from the DW games and saw only half of Zeta. I'm defiantly watching Char's Counterattack.

Gundam Build Fighters is pure fun.

Of the newer series, SEED starts out slow but gets better. SEED Destiny starts out decent but falls apart and even its best moments have stupid plot points. Gundam 00 Season 1 was great, but Season 2 is polarizing. Gundam AGE is...yea...

Always wanted to watch 08th ms team, Stardust Memory and War in a Pocket. Unfortunately they're not on the channel DNukem recommended.

I will check out Build Fighters & 00. Are both series finished?

SEED just looks.... long. I'm really not interested in watching it. And I'm not a fan of the generic 00's anime look.

08th was just okay. The fight scenes are great, but the show feels the need to throw in this extremely forced Romeo and Juliet love story, and on top of that they add extra episode which was really unnecessary and ruined an otherwise good ending.

Can't really be a complaint if I haven't watched it. I guess I prefer a more concise story since I have limited time to watch anime.

BTW thanks DNukem for the suggestion. Watching Char's Counterattack off my PS3 now and it looks great. In the days to come I'll start up Build Fighters and 00 as well. May anime que just expanded immensely.

knight of sidonia is good, the cg takes some time getting use to,

00 is conpletely finished. Build Fighters is getting a second season starting in October, which will hopefully get a simulcast airing on the channel like Season 1 did.

As for SEED, both it and its sequel are 50 episodes. Well, 48 for SEED since the HD Remaster cut 2 clip shows. That's actually typical for a Gundam show, however. The original is 43 episodes and is one of the shortest mainline series (Gundam X is the shortest due to being cancelled partway through).

Also, no idea if they will be on the YouTube channel, but Yoshiyuki Tomino is doing Reconguista in G to celebrate the franchise's 35th Anniversary and Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin begins next year.

Build Fighters is good so far. It's such an obvious commercial for kids, but it's an enjoyable one. I plan to binge watch more tonight.

Finished Gundam Build Fighters the other night. Good show and alot of fun. I liked all the cameos and easter eggs especially near the end of the show.

I watched the first few episodes of Gundam 00 and it's okay but a little boring. Does it pick up?

Season 1 does pick up and is arguably as good as any Gundam show (especially this century). Season 2 is very YMMV, however.

There is kinda sorta going to be a new Tenchi Muyo series. Ai Tenchi Muyo will have 50 5-minute episodes and is being created mainly drive tourism to the city Takahashi, which will be the setting for the new show.

Been watching some stuff from backlog.

Short Peace: Worth the money.Tie between Possessions and Combustible as my favorite of the 4.The worst by far was Gambo which other than the art and animation it did nothing for me.

Girls und Panzer: Despite the extremely cockamamie premise(seriously wtf is the point of the aircraft carriers?) it's a lot of fun. The tank battles were done extremely well;along with the CGI work on them and the great POV shots they used from time to time. Now the biggest issues outside the tank battles is you get a bunch of mediocre highschool hijinks with cardboard cutout characters;along with having too many characters(did they have to add even more with 2 episodes left?). The show honestly could've used a couple more episodes since it really does come off as rushed at points.
