Do you understand that english is the language that is most widely used in the US by a very wide margin? What makes more sense? 50 million people learning english, or 250 million people learning spanish?

The funny thing is that we Americans are behind the entire world when it comes to learning other languages. Hell, go to Japan. Almost everyone there can understand you if you talk slow and deliberately enough. European countries are no different - pretty much everyone there is bilingual, and many are trilingual (which is sort of hot, and I plan on making a profitable career directing certain videos of this nature). All the people in Mexico? They know FAR more English than you know Spanish.
For us to sit back on our toilets and armchair quarterback some kind of nationalistic bullshit just makes us look likeing idiots. Children in other countries put us to shame in this regard because we have so many dumbasses beating their chest to the tune of their own language, which in itself has been butchered for decades.

I think it's a shame that even in our schools that language classes are treated mainly like art class, vs other nations are teaching most kids english from a very early age.
