[BACK] Exclusive RE4 Collector's Tin at Gamestop

If you guys are still looking for the collector's tin, I think you might be outta luck. My friend who works at GS said he picked up his copy and was told that they didn't have any left in stock and don't know if more will be produced.

I'd check your local GameCrazy to see if they have any.

BTW, those of you that ordered it from GS.com, did you guys get your Music CD? Mine shipped but I have yet to receive it.

I thought it was GS exclusive? I've seen the GS logo on the front. Has anyone actually got it from anywhere besides GS?

Yes there is a GS logo on the package, and yes it's a GS exclusive. I imagine you could find it used in another store, but only if someone has already traded it in obviously. I just bought mine actually, and both my store and the store I went to still have plenty of copies.

Yeah, I know that, but I have heard that they are available at GC new, and there is another Collector's Edition with a different art cell. Hmm.

Indeed, I believe that Game Crazy has a one with the different laser cel but everything else is the same. But I don't know if they ever shipped as I can't find any sign of it.

I ordered my RE Tin online on the 12th and it got here today, soundtrack came in the same package. Mine shall remain forever sealed.

I see alot of mad people posting pretty soon. it sucks that it appears orders aren't being fulfilled first come first served but what can you do. my friend is pretty upset that the soundtrack shipped but the tin itself probably never will.

I think I'm going to keep my tin sealed and get the regular version to play.

Game Crazy has the regular game, and a laser cell (limited to 18850) for pre-orders.

I went to pickup the copy I pre-ordered from GS today. It was dented. I asked the clerk for an updamaged copy. They had about 8 copies behind the glass, and only ONE was not dented in some way or the other. These RE tins are no where near the durability of the Halo 2 tins. I have two copies of the CE that I am going to put away. I'll pick up the normal version to play when I find a deal on it.

dented? that is pretty strange, mine is mint, and looks/feels pretty sturdy. *shrugs*

The Gamestop tracking page says my copy shipped. I didnt check it before so I dont know if they sent me the mail saying it was backordered before or after. So, maybe it shipped...

Hopeful.

Awesome. I got the email tonight about the game being out of stock and whatnot. Just checked the order status page a couple hours later and it says it shipped.

My tin case wasn't damaged in anyway but there is some paint chips on the side which really pisses me off.

I'm waiting for my damn soundtrack... They should've shipped together but since I got free overnight shipping I guess they wanted to waste some money and send the two items seperately.

The soundtrack is just a sampler of 7 songs from the movie soundtracks. Pretty lame. I thought if it was going to be the movie soundtrack, it would have been the score Marilyn Manson did. Oh well.

The RE4 collector's tin was definitely cool though.

Mind you mine has a scratch that I just noticed, but I don't see any dents.

That is why I got mine in the store and looked through the copies to get a perfect one.

i ordered one this morning and it shipped this afternoon, this deal is most definitely not dead, it is still very much alive.
edit: they are still giving away the lame ass soundtrack as well. cant complain since it is free

I got mine on Friday and I was lucky. I strolled into my local Gamestop looking to pre order the PSP or buy a copy of Resident Evil 4. I go over to the Gamecube section and see an empty Resident Evil 4 collecters Edition Case. Take it up to the counter and they have 3-5 in stock. I bought mine and walked out of the store a happy man.

I just ordered, and it seems as if they got some more in stock....or ready to ship. I'll probably stop by tomorrow to see if I can get another just to keep sealed.

Why are so many people so excited over a "collector's tin?" What's so great about having another metal cookie case sitting around the house? Doesn't everybody have a dozen of those left over from X-mas already?

It also includes:

* Limited Edition Numbered Laser Cel Art of Leon Kennedy (main character in the game)

* 20-page art book "Resident Evil 4 Prolouge"

Educate yourself before making yourself look like an ass.

It really depends on how you value this game. To me, I am a big RE fan and I pretty much got a gamecube just for RE remake, RE 0 and RE4.

As for what do I think about this RE4 CE deal? I think it's a complete waste of money. But i still got it because i have GC and bunch of crap so I pretty much got it for "free".

There are cheaper deals for just the game, if you happen to jump on some 39.99 deal, we are talking about $20 difference here.

Overall, the TIN is very nice, but i think the gamestop logo destroyed the whole "CE" value.
The "artbook" is horrible and I think it looks like those free little booklet from magazine. How dare they call it artbook. Oh well. I did not even get the soundtrack since i bought it in store, not pre-ordred. Overall, I i am paying this for cash, I would jump on the 39.99 deal. Again, this depends on how you value the game. And no, I think this does look a little better than your left over cookie tin, but does this worth additional $20 dollars? Hummm....

Good points. The tin is marred by the Gamestop logo. But, it's a nice tin, and the laser cell is nice. The booklet is a welcome addition for some, for me it's just OK, nothing special. As for the soundtrack, you could have gotten it in store. Just ask the clerk. Even with $39.99 deals(most stores had it for $49.99), I feel Resident Evil 4, even by itself is worth the money. Heck, I'd have paid $80 for just the game. One of those rare games that's worth every penny and then some.

i actually like the tin. go figure. this has a much better chance of holding its value over a regular edition.

and yes, the collectors tin still fetched $120+ on ebay so if you hate yours, you can still unload it pretty easily.

The tin is pretty nice, though I agree it could do without the Gamestop logo. As far as my options were concerned, I could either get the regular version for $43, or the Collector's Edition for $51. I got the Collector's Edition, and I think it was worth the extra, if for no other reason than because the tin looks so damn cool. I do agree that the artbook and soundtrack sucks, but eh, considering I got the whole thing for $1 more than it's retail price, I'm happy with it. Besides, if I ever decide to sell the game (yeah, like that'll happen), the fact that it's the Collector's Edition will probably be worth at least twice as much (maybe even more, depending on how rare they get).

Back on page three I mentioned trouble with my order. GS made me redo the order and I got it a day late. They were supposed to refund the overnight shipping, since the code was expired and they messed up the original order. It had yet to be refunded, so I open my email today and what do I see? Another copy of the collectors edition on it's way, under the original order number that they said was dead. I'll be pissed if they sold me another copy. If it's free, no complaint.

jeez, they are sending you another collectors tin that they may or may not charge you for?

They charged me for it. And I'll make sure they'll be refunding the 10$ overcharge, the purchase price, and return shipping.
Why was there a $10 overcharge?
apparently his coupon for free overnight ship didnt work :?

if you are in no rush, just stick with freeshipall
