Where the hell has Victoria been? I wish they would have stretched out a feud between her and Mickie until Wrestlemania.

"Dishing out advice" on WWE.com, much like Val Venis.

They always shove the talented wrestlers to the wayside.
You realize that since everyone's expecting Jake to croak, it'll be about a hundred years before he dies, right?
I hope so...

Especially around 'Mania, where the focus shifts to the people that are making the company money and not necessarilly the good workers.

I would have been more excited had he actually been there and came out to his theme music. I could tell it was him the second he opened his mouth from behind the newspaper.

The Rock hasn't been on Raw since he killed everyone in that stupid-ass segment during the very first diva search (when he clearly didn't want to be there, so he just bagged on every contestant). That's been roughly 3 years, right?

Pitiful that he's *still* got it, that much more than everyone else out there.

Please have your next three movies bomb and/or go straight to video, so you can come back to wrestling.

WWE shows they still respect the old school with an ultra classy video package on Ernie Ladd. Shame they no longer honor that tradition.

I have a feeling that Cena/HBK are going to retain the titles here... just a hunch. ;)

Amazingly fun night... between 24, RAW, AFL, and the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame its been a good night. Then again I'm very happy that Patti Smith is FINALLY inducted. :D

Are we talking "Gloria" Patti Smith or "The Warriors" Patti Smith (isn't that Smyth?)

I need to find a copy of Smith's song "Ask the Angels." Off to iTunes.

EDIT: Yeah, it ain't 'bout wrestling, but I'm not digging "Cena and HBK defeat the world."
Are we talking "Gloria" Patti Smith or "The Warriors" Patti Smith (isn't that Smyth?)
"Gloria" Patti Smith.

And yeah "Warriors" Patti is actually Patti Smyth.

Wow. Guess JBL's back treatment is working out well for him. I wouldn't mind seeing him back in the ring, as he'd been really entertaining right up until he had to retire.

Arena Football is a travesty, I would rather watch old XFL games on ESPN Classic than sit through 1 quarter of Arena Football.
Stone Cold, sporting white Asics tennis shoes.

"$29.99 on sale at Wal-Mart, now gimme a Hell Yeah!"
Hell yeah!

Good ol' JR said:
Vanilla Gorilla- Who does Jim Rome like other than Jim Rome? Rome tries to be too cool and hip for my tastes….”clones.” Most sports’ purists never like pro wrestling as it makes them personally look bad to their “real sports” friends. Jim Rome doesn’t entertain me. I’m out!

'sat you, oh favorite negative nancy of CAG?
'sat you, oh favorite negative nancy of CAG?
All I said tonight is that the AFL sucks (just because it's now on ESPN2 doesn't make it any better), and that Stone Cold looked like he was sporting some bargain basement sneakers. I don't ever recall him wearing white shoes before.

nonono, I was skimming over Jim Ross' blog and saw that he was discussing Jim Rome in the context of responding to a blog comment that was asking about him.

EDIT: Boy, Vince doesn't know how to tie a tie. That thing's hanging past his wang.
nonono, I was skimming over Jim Ross' blog and saw that he was discussing Jim Rome in the context of responding to a blog comment that was asking about him.
I think Rome sucks. His stupid little buzz words he constantly uses ("Barroid", calling a home run anything BUT a "home run", etc.) wear thin quickly. And I especially get a kick out of how, whenever he has a guest host, that guest host suddenly develops a Jim Rome-style attitude towards sports. Mark Schlereth from NFL Live, who is usually pretty positive and low key, hosted the show a couple weeks ago, and he brough out the phoned in fake 'tude, and it was pretty obvious.

I don't watch Rome, so I don't have an opinion of him. I was just asking if you were the one who posted a comment under your VG name on JR's blog.

No, whoever that was does not speak for me, the Original Vanilla Gorilla. Except no substitutes. I would never ask JR anything, unless I REALLY needed some info about Oklahoma football.

It's depressing to see The Rock and Austin on the same show like that. Not that they're bad - it just shows you how far the product has fallen. The Rock doing a promo in his fucking kitchen had the crowd more excited than any Cena promo of the last...uh...ever.

I've listened to him on the radio. You aren't missing much. The quote from JR is kinder than I would have been.

This is how much of an ass Jim Rome is and his only real claim to fame.

I like Rome, but I don't take him too seriously. I have not listened in a few months since the radio in my car took a shit, but I usually end up laughing at something he talks about.

And my Asics cost 50 bucks from Eastbay so I don't think that Stone Cold was hitting up the Wal-Mart bargain bin.

gotcha. just curious.
where can i get some shades like the ones rocky was sportin
Where women shop.

Reading Hardcore Diaries right now. It's rather light on wrestling so far, written in Foley's lighthearted and easily-distracted style, but a quick and fun read nonetheless. I'm only 60 pages into it, but it seems like I may give this one a "wait for the paperback if you really want to read it" reccomendation.
You're kidding, right? Arena Football is a travesty, I would rather watch old XFL games on ESPN Classic than sit through 1 quarter of Arena Football.
I'll admit that the AFL is not even close to being great football but its fun to watch regardless. Lighten up a bit there Vanilla. Being uptight like that is only going to cause you to have a heart attack one day.

I had a feeling this was the case. I wouldn't mind reading it but I'll just wait until its sitting at my local Half Price Books. Which will be within a week or two.

We used to have an AF2 team, and I had season tickets their inaugural year. You're right, it's not the NFL experience, but was still a hell of a lot of fun to attend.

Oooh I fell asleep off and on during the show last night, twas very tired. I did, however, thank God, see the segment with The Rock. I also caught the HBK-JBL match they booked. I actually thought that was part of my dream...

HBK-JBL??? When did they book that?
HBK-JBL??? When did they book that?
Yesterday.

SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long has confirmed that next week on Raw, it will be WrestleMania reversal night. Both of the World Tag Team Champions, John Cena and Shawn Michaels, will face opponents from their partner’s WrestleMania past. John Cena will face Chris Benoit and Shawn Michaels will take on JBL. Which Superstar will step up on the quest for dominance?

Oh, I get it. Cena/JBL and HBK/Benoit. Hmm. The announcers did a terrible job of explaining that last night.

I expect JBL/HBK to not be a match in the same way that Lawler/Tazz at ONS was not a match. JBL may be entering some new rehab, but nothing works *that* quickly. This matc screams "no context from the beginning."

As for whomever slighted Melina (KaneRobot? Sporadic?), she's surely the woman with the most personality on Raw. You may think it blasphemous, but she reminds me of Sensational Sherri in a way. God knows she has more personality and charisma than Lita, Torrie Wilson, the Nitro Girls ECW dancers, Kristal, and goddamn near every other woman in the WWE right now and in the recent past. She's nowhere near the league of Jazz/Trish/Victoria in terms of wrestling ability, but she can handle her own. Besides, you can't blame her for the WWE Women's Division; that responsibility is that of the WWE itself, for pushing cup size ahead of talent/training. What woman was better than her? Mickie James? Sheeit.

That's what I thought, the way it was explained last night, it was opponents from past WMs, which didn't make sense.
According to a reporter for the Calgary Sun, Ted Annis (a/k/a Teddy Hart) will be signing with WWE “after his MTV contract runs out”. There has been a lot of talk within the company of this happening for a while now. If Annis does indeed sign, the plan would be to team him up with Harry Smith and Nattie Neidhart to create a new Hart Foundation since they are all members of the legendary Hart family.
Ohhhhhh boy. Teddy Hart and CM Punk working for the same company (and potentially the same show) could get very interesting.
