The next One Night Stand will surely disappoint.
Man, I can't even begin to imagine. Shit, they may just cancel it or do something different.

If they do, I just hope the fan base turns out chants the ever loving fuck out of the place.
they changed the main even for tonight..

its now lashley vs test...
I hope this implies that Hardcore Holly is out for awhile, or better yet, out for good. fuck that guy, I hope his family starves.

And I thought I was vicious! Isn't it bad enough already that they (his family) have to be related to Hardcore Holly?

A couple of notes about Raw's locations over the last two weeks.

The "Cajun Country" comments last week were completely inaccurate. Bossier City isn't anywhere near "Cajun Country". Hell, North Louisiana is completely different in nearly every aspect compared to South Louisiana.

For some reason, it always makes me giggle when they mispronounce Lafayette (Its pronounced like laugh-e-yet, not Lof-e-yet). It is nearly the dead center of "Cajun Country". Maybe JR didn't like pronouncing the word Bossier.

Watching the backstage skits brought back memories of touching random girls' boobs during the Junior Beta Convention dances during seventh and eighth grade.

mykevermin, the Sabu-RVD ladder match is a botch-fest, that's why I think they'll edit the hell out of it. Lashley vs. Test tonight is apparently extreme rules, while the PPV match has regular rules... for some reason, I see Test winning tonight and losing it at the Rumble.

Colt Cabana rules!

As does the Human Tornado -
Which pales in comparison, of course, to how the WWE misused him; then again, since most of it happened during the WWF destroys everybody else "Invasion" storyline, it was probably hard to see his body lying underneath all those other guys who were summarily buried.

Jay, why would WWE edit the ladder match you mentioned?

EDIT: I'd like to say that, when I hear the name "Marquis Cor Von," I picture something like this:

Really? I imagine something like this.

With regards to the Mat Classic video - who the hell thinks that shenanigans is spelled "shanagans"?

EDIT: I don't know the validity of this, but reports are WWE is trying to get a leg up on WSX by offering Ruckus and Matt Sydal developmental contracts. Like I said, I don't know if this is true (and god knows Sydal is the physical opposite of what WWE wants).

I'm actually working on Cabana's website.

I loved Kevin Thorn's audible in the battle royal - "Okay Rob, I'll try to throw you over!" - it's always good to say this when you're right next to the camera.

God damn, Test Postiveforenhancementdrugs' look more and more like Danny Bonaduce (current/roid rage era) facially every day.
Good to see Monty Brown still has his kittie head nudge thing.
Nice, I was hoping he'd get back to that.
"Yes Test is ugly in person"

We already have the sign of the year.
To think he hooked up with Stacy Kiebler...then again so did David Flair.
So, what was point of that?
That's the eternal koan with regards to ECW over the past year.

EDIT: I just read that TNA is holding their April PPV in St Louis - OTM may find that of interest.

TNA needs to do more things outside of that studio in Orlando. Hopefully they'll come here to Minnesota one day. There's one TNA mark who will be first in line for front row tickets for sure. :D

Its official...
(January 23, 2007) - Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling announced today that “Lockdown 2007” will be held live at the Family Arena in St. Louis on April 15, airing exclusively on pay-per-view.

TNA President Dixie Carter made the announcement tonight live on “The Stranglehold” radio show (KFNS 590 AM) in St. Louis. She also confirmed that the April weekend in St. Louis also will include an all-access chance to meet the stars of TNA at “TNA Fan Interaction," which puts the stars of TNA up close and personal with the fans for a once in a lifetime meet-and-greet opportunity.

"Lockdown" is unlike any other wrestling pay-per-view in that every match takes place inside TNA's infamous Six Sides of Steel, promising some of the most unforgettable moments of the year.

The announcement comes on the heels of St. Louis Cardinals shortstop and World Series MVP David Eckstein announcing that “Team Eckstein” would battle "Team Pierzynski," led by Chicago White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski, on Feb. 11, at the “Against All Odds” pay-per-view in Orlando.

Tickets for “Lockdown” will go on sale at 10 a.m. CT, Friday, February 16, at the Family Arena Box Office (2002 Arena Parkway, St. Charles, MO 63303), all Metrotix outlets, online at Metrotix.com or by calling (314) 534-1111.

Several TNA stars will be in St. Louis for the on-sale event. Full details about the Feb. 16 autograph session will be available at www.TNAWrestling.com.
And I get to go, it's only 250 miles to STL and we'd already planned on going sometime around there.

We were going to go for Judgement Day, but I'd rather see Lockdown

Whatever TNA PPV they had in Detroit last year (can't remember), I missed. They're talking about having it here this year, and I'll be there. Ringside.

Flipping through ECW, I noticed the "Marquis" is now "Marcus." A billion-dollar organization should have such things smoothed out ahead of time, but I digress.

What I really watched the Monty Brown match for was to hear if there were any "TNA" or "Monty Brown" chants. Nothin'. Looks like either (1) by and large, WWE fans don't know of, or don't watch, TNA, or (2) there's a large chasm between the kind of person who watches TNA and the kind who watches WWE - and very few actually watch both. I think the former sounds more likely, no?

On an unrelated note, I've been corresponding with a scholar who has some published work about pro wrestling - she mentioned to me that there is a "wrestling and culture" course being taught at MIT this semester. That's just as cool as my "Sociology of Computer and Video Games" course I'm developing (but that's for another topic).

Bound for Glory (supposedly "their Wrestlemania").

Be there if you want, but ringside tickets last year were $250, which is fucking ridiculous for a glorified indy promotion. I spent about 40 bucks for my tickets and STILL felt filthy.

Nice... a hopeful chance of seeing Alex Shelley wrestle would make my day.

well i dont think ecw was that bad last night... that rumble in the beginning was interesting but i was expecting all the originals to woop on thorn,..

punk and burke look like they could have good matches....

dont know why the put lashley over test so easily like that....

and im wondering why they changed the main even.. shit they were in mobile,al (holly country) and he didnt even run in or anything...wtf
still dead?
God DAMMIT, I wanted to do the "still dead" thing.

Also, apparently Holly had a dark match so he could get whatever hometown pop he thought he would get. As for the main event dark match, MVP and Kennedy lost to 'Taker and Kane, who were lead to the ring by Paul Bearer. Yeah.

I guess he forgave Undertaker for murdering him in the oatmeal-filled crypt. How nice of him.
still dead?

Autopsys take a few weeks - wait about 2 more.
I just thought maybe there was something that wouldn't require an autopsy. I know with some in the past you hear things like, "a bottle was nearby" or "signs of foul play" or something like that. It's just really weird that all we have heard is "he is dead" and thats about it.
paul bearer??? NO FUUKKING WAYYY....

that was sooo spoiler material
Not really, it was a dark match. You won't see it on TV. He was only there because he lives nearby, he's not coming back full-time or anything.

Thanks for that DDP link, that was an enjoyable read. I'm looking forward to the upcoming Bigelow obit - those are Meltzer's best pieces of writing, and it seems like there's a lot to work with on one for Bigelow.
