I see this trickling. I have $40 in RZ certs for GTA V. Get $20 back, and I'm going to have to preorder a next gen title.

I'm then left another $10..... Damn Best Buy.

People pay money for this program. If the program is no longer worth it for its members, why shouldn't we be upset? $10 credit with preorder is not much of a deal considering most games go on sale within the month anyway. BB was once very competitive and used to be the best deal when it came to new releases, but now it no longer is
Which I directly addressed in the last sentence of my post. I'm saying for people that aren't members the bickering sounds self centered. "Only $10? LAME"

Whats funny, the people who say "well, im not going yo renew GCU as it just isnt as good as it used to be" aren't trying to tell everyone that they should do the same.

But the people who still like GCU get offended and then go on and on trying to convince people what a great value it really is.

Value is subjective and different for everyone. If someone says they don't plan to Renew due to X and Y reasons, don't take it as a personal attack on you for still finding value with GCU.
you are right, but once another glitch deal/ mistake like tank tank tank comes up. people will be popping up asking for free coupons, because they deemed the $15 gcu fee no worthy. Since they will be only using that one coupon from that only magazine out of the 10 issues.

Newegg most likely won't get your game to you on release date or allow you to pick it up at midnight. This promotion from Best Buy allows you to save some money while getting it as soon as possible, and best of all you don't have to pay for the unlocked subscription. I will admit the benefits of unlocked is eroding away slowly but majority of Best Buy's great deals are FREE to everyone(Buy 2 Get 1 Pre-owned, Deal of the Day, Pre-owned Deals of the Week, Double RZ Points, Special 2-day Sales, 50% trade in or 100% trade in bonus,etc...). Shouldn't we be happy that Best Buy is trying to offer more great deals to everyone without paywalling?
I prefer the paywall when it offered the possibility of better savings. I had no issue paying into the subscription knowing Id get $20 on numerous day one titles over the year

My Gamers Unlocked membership expires on september 18th, but my digital magazine subscription is until March 2014.  Can I still use the coupon I receive from the magazine without renewing the unlocked membership?

Yes, online and in store.

so i was right when i found that link

I feel like there's going to be many chances at making some profit at $45 trade-in value. From August 27th through October 5th, that's a long period of time for a sale to happen...

once an exploit is found and exploited, no way the $45 trade in value will last.

Loose lips sink flips, there are a ton a profitable games right now, from a number of places, (might change with new TiV's at bestbuy and such tomorrow/today, it's 2 AM where I am), profit on one game barely will cover the gas you use, instead it's better to get two games for cheap at one store, trade them in at another, use the money from that to buy THREE games with that, with an even HIGHER TiV at a THIRD store!
So yeah if people follow all the ad's and TiV topic's, its really easy to justify buying almost all of these games day one with super "cheap" credit, and deals like the $10 RZ cert are just cherrys on top.

But even if it is not $20 like many people are used to, they have no legitimate reason to complain, they could be giving nothing, instead $10 is $10, and many of these games are day 1 launch titles for next gen, so a $50* game is good enough for me.

I'll wait a bit, but honestly this is the best deals on preordering I have seen for BF4 on ps4.   if you already planned on getting the game day 1, then these deals are pretty decent.

what did you expect, similar thing is happening at gs. you got "geniuses" literally spamming the Fifa/nfs deal in the gs tiv thread this whole week, since the sale started.

Im not going to complain about the $10 preorder offers now not being $20 because I knew it wouldnt last.  I considered it a bonus to getting a game I already wanted and it helped defer some of the cost of the next one (like Splinter Cell is being paid in part by GOW, and GTA will be paid in part by Splinter Cell)

I dont do TIV/flipping and I prefer to keep my games.  The magazine coupons are nice suprises if there is anything i would want (please let there be a sale on the pulse headphones!) but as someone who isnt quite ready to do the whole "digital everything lifestyle" i prefer physical magazines still.

Complaining about free anything never has made sense to me.

$45 on Madden 25 TIV seems too good to be true (until Oct 5th) but it's really tempting to preorder it and play it until GTA V comes out. Even with the just $10, I'm probably still going to preorder Batman, AC4, and Watch Dogs. Too bad Saints isn' on the list.

That $45 is nuts, not sure it's going to last. Would pick it up to mess around for a bit until the Texans proper get in gear, but again I have to imagine the offer is going to change because $45 for an annual sports title assured for over a month after launch seems insane.

I can't wait for the day tax is collected by amazon and newegg (except Delaware and Oregon!) so the ridiculous tax argument goes away.
So you are fine with people being screwed out of their money just so that the arguments stop? You've got some issues. But then again, you always treat people with scorn and ridicule and treat the companies like they are saints, so how can I be surprised?

Is there a thread on the Best Buy forums about the new deals so we can leave feedback?
Yes, but don't bother. Enuf and other CAGs have been trying, and so far, all the deals have gotten even worse since then.

EDIT:
I preordered South Park Stick of Truth back when it was $20 in Rz certs. Has anyone dealt with something like this before?

This kind of sucks... I am going to have be unlocked again to get the $20 even though mine expired last month and the game was supposed to be released in March.

Order Amazon version of Madden 25 Anniversary Ed., keep DirectTV Sunday Ticket code for streaming NFL games on computer or mobile device, trade in Madden 25 for $45 = $55 Sunday Ticket.

Update 8/4:

Well, I just ordered GTA 5 ps3 ten minutes ago online for in store pickup. Hope I get the $30 rw cert for being Gamer Unlocked.

You are legally required to pay tax on online purchases. It's called use tax. State governments are just now starting to mandate that online retailers collect it at point of sale. The only person 'cheating' is you when you file your taxes and don't pay use tax.

Hmmmmmmmmm. Anyone use Sunday NFL ticket on computers and stuff? My internet is high speed, but for some reason streaming always blows for me except for Twitch (and even that sometimes) and Netflix (which always works excellently) so I don't know if it would be worth grabbing and trading that Amazon exclusive thing so that I can actually watch the Texans this year rather than just following the arrows back and forth on NFL.com each Sunday, imagining what the plays actually look like.

$30 for GTA. Huh?

Ummm... No, you're missing the point entirely. Listen, I hate paying taxes as much as the next guy, but companies like Amazon basically screwed over your local B&M companies and community businesses by taking money away from your State, doing business in your State, and NEVER having to give back to the State in terms of taxes and revenue.

It's not the only reason why our state governments are struggling, schools have no money, and many social service programs like childcare and services for the poor are feeling the pinch, but it's a BIG reason.

You might think companies like Amazon are doing you a favor, but in the end, they're no different and quite possibly worse than Walmart in that they operate to take money and never invest in the city and community YOU live in.

Tried 3 times to pre-order Watch Dogs for the PS4 online, only to get an error message. Was trying to save myself a trip to the store. Anyone else experience any problems?

make a post at the bestbuy official forum. they should take care of you.

Lol at someone thinking paying taxes on online purchases is getting screwed out of your money - a shining example of the education system.

I think the orginal poster is trying to get the $20 victory can pre-ordered bonus at BB (only for gamers club unlocked) plus their GET 10 promotion for pre-ordering a select list of games which includes GTA (for non-gamers club unlocked)

He will only get the $20 since they won't combine the two

FTMFW.

It is truly mindnumbing how many people do not comprehend the above.

What I want to know is.. Aren't we really subscribing to a magazine subscription and everything else happens to be a bonus? Or are we subscribing for coupons/reward certs and the magazine is the bonus...I don't think people subscribe to Motor Trend for bonus coupons on cars but who knows.

If any CAG is willing to pay money for a gaming magazine only without evaluating the return value on coupons and other benefits, he needs to have his CAG card revoked.

Thought so just making sure I wasn't missing something.

I honestly need to suck up the tax thing and order from Amazon. They have like 3 or 4 shipping centers in my state alone. Living in KY I get charged tax.

I only miss out on tax when I get my computer parts from NewEgg.

I bought the Gamer Club Subscription specifically for the $20 bonuses. I preordered and bought a bunch of games from Best Buy in the last year. They were my store of choice! But with my GCU subscription ending this month, I now don't see a reason to renew. What sucks is that I have GTA V already preordered. I could spend $15 to get the $20, or do nothing and still get $10... ? Easy choice for me.

Back to Amazon I guess.

So it's not worth $5 for a year to take a chance on getting some decent coupons or other GCU offers? This month's coupons have basically paid for my subscription just by getting a free Tank! Tank! Tank! Also, isn't it possible that they could offer $20 bonuses for some games in the future?

I was told by Best Buy customer service if you preorder any of these games before the offer was announced you will have to cancel and reorder. Sorry if this was mentioned already in the post. I'm lazy and I didnt want to read through 5 pages.

Q7: What if I pre-ordered any of these games before I saw this offer?
A7: This offer is available to all eligible Reward Zone members who pre-order any of these games before their release date, regardless of when they saw the offer. Please be sure to provide your Reward Zone member number at the time of checkout or purchase (or before shipment for BestBuy.com purchases) to ensure you are credited properly.
If you're not willing to read through 5 pages of this thread, at least read the OP. :whistle2:|

Hmm so I wonder if l preorder Madden for 360 get the 500 bonus points then later pre order madden for Xbox one / ps4 and still get the bonus points . I know with the 20 $ gcu unlocked it was only once per title . In this situation there's diffrent release dates and next gen conlsoles so I would assume the promo would apply for both . I'm not even sure if there's a way to confirm this ?

It is once per title, not once per title per platform.

Ah yeah I figured , was hoping it would be separate some how because of the later release and next gen console . Still 10 $ off next gen titles ... I'll take it . Now my predicament is too renew my gcu which expires right before gta . I'll most likely do it because the 10 % off for pre owned / trading in will pay for itself In no time .
