Best Buy has a bunch of their SDXC cards on sale...what's the best price performance option for a Switch? This one for 256GB? Is there an difference in performance on the Sandisk "EXTREME PLUS" vs. "ULTRA PLUS" if only using for a Switch...I think that maxes out at 100mb/s?

- Resident Evil 2 @ $15 and Horizon & Until Dawn @ $10 might get me to bite. I'm at that age where I have little time to actually play games and the fun mostly comes from buying them and thinking about potentially playing them. Growing up sucks.

- That price on Spiderman GOTY is... amazing. Really wish I had waited.

- I'm playing Yakuza 0 right now, and while I love the story, the gameplay doesn't impress me enough to bite on Kiwami 2 @ $15.

They are going to be having daily My Best Buy deals leading up to Black Friday. Not sure if they are going to be on the front page of the site since they are separate from the usual daily deals that still show even if you aren't logged in. Should be here if not:

https://www.bestbuy.com/loyalty/catalog

Yeah, Borderlands 3 is definitely worth it at that price. We got the deluxe editions and no regrets. Only unfortunate thing is you guys will miss most of, if not all, of the Halloween event on right now. It's a great way to get some crazy legendaries early on, and a fun event regardless.

Really hope they have a twisted Christmas event in store next!
I'm sure it's good. When we were younger (sigh) we had whole weekends where we played nothing but BL and BL2.

Now, it would be amazing if we were able to carve out 4-5 hours for BL3. :(

My GCU expires tomorrow and I already stacked the 25% off coupon for it ending with GCU discount on the Pokémon double pack. Goodnight sweet GCU prince
I'm happy I read your post, I'm in the same boat as you (my GCU expires tomorrow though) and I had no idea the coupon stacked with GCU. I just ordered the double pack as well (it does come with two cartridges, right? Wife and I both want a copy to play) and used the discount code on top of GCU. Thanks for the head's up!

Happy to help! If it’s like one of the older Pokemon double packs, it will actually be two separate game cases with cartridges (possibly even both individually sealed) within a cardboard slip case plus a printed insert with the exclusive dlc codes. Makes it great if you want to keep one copy and sell the other, or just sell the dlc along with the collectible coin (gotta keep my CAG mindset 😉).

Super underwhelmed by this years black Friday. Possibly because I bought most everything I want when it came out, or because my back log is so big, but they seem to still be pushing last year's deals.

Already got the outer worlds and modern warfare during that best buy deal with the $25 gc. Haven't really touched astral chain or fire emblem 3 houses. And days gone erased my save game so that has sat collecting dust. Apex legends has kept me busy most of the year. I might pick up Control. I got Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on eBay this year for cheaper than this years deal. I swear it was $35 last year.

I will be getting that $499 HP laptop from Best buy for my girlfriend, but not much else.

It says preview on the website. Does that mean there is more deals to be had than whats shown on BF? Or is this all of it?

Will there be early access for My Best Buy members?

I would prefer getting it early rather than going to when its Thanksgiving or Black Friday day lol

I can't really find anything to buy this year. I bought most games I wanted already, and everything I don't buy seems to end up on game pass. I actually want to spend money but can't find anything to spend it on lol.

Of course but not everything is available during the preview. They hold some things back so they don't sell out before the ad actually starts. Its also worth noting that not everything on sale for BF will still be well stocked enough to go back on sale on Cyber Monday (for GCU peeps).

Right, the SuMo and USUM double packs were like that too. I'm wondering if I should keep my other preorder for the two individual games to ensure we both get a copy, and just return the individuals once I know for sure the double pack includes two cartridges.

Either one should play your Switch games just fine, the only difference will be in transfer speed.

Nintendo was obviously sitting on this stock. They might have included a different game if they had already burned through it last year and were using the new model.

You should get the 256gb ultra since the switch hardware is capped so the extreme pro wont do much and kinda be a waste.

If re2 and devil may cry shows ps4 for $15, is it only for that console?
Want to get both for xbox
I'm pretty positive the prices will be the same for multi-platform games, at least for PS4 and XBO games. I noticed in the BF ad that some games listed under the PS4 list were XBO games and vice versa under the Xbox One list.

The sale prices seem alright, it just seems like it's a kind of "meh" year, what with only a small number of releases people are particularly excited about.

Yes, and no. One year if you were quick it was up for maybe 5-10 mins before they shut it off. What typically does happen is Cyber Monday repeats all the deals and GCU works then, so it's just a matter of patience and gambling that something doesn't stay sold out, as it can happen.
Yes and yes.

In 2017 (or was it last year?) GCU worked for the first 30 min or so. Prior to 2017 GCU worked the entire time. Monday early access and when sales started on Thursday.

Good times.

Wow this is putrid. Those Switch game prices when Target will be selling them for $10 cheaper.

Xbox One X bundle might not be horrible but I'm hoping for a $300 console-only

Pretty good for Switch owners. Normal discounts for most new stuff. Everyone freaking out about platform, yes PS4/xb1 sales will carry over that's just how it's shown
How so? Zelda BotW/Mario and others will be $30 at Target. Games like Crash Trilogy have been $20 and that included GCU for those lucky...failing to see how this is a win for Switch.

I generally like to keep my BF purchases to $19.99 or less but Ghost Recon: Breakpoint for $27.99 is decent. The Ghost Recon games don't tend to get big long term discounts afterwards. Wildlands is back to $39.99 right now and it's 2 1/2 years old. I know Breakpoint didn't get great reviews but I'm a Ubisoft apologist...lol. A bit disappointed Code Vein is not discounted further...guess I'll have to wait for Xmas sales or later.

Wildlands was $15 both physically and digitally a little more than a year after. From everything I've heard breakpoint is heavily inferior in literally every way, so no way is it worth that much more. Would be a good buy at $10. This is coming from someone who likes ubisoft as well.

I haven't even beaten Wildlands yet, so I am going to hold off on Breakpoint (wasn't too impressed with what I played of it anyway). I'll probably pick it up when they add AI squadmates.

4 is awesome, your taste is bad honestly
4 is the worst in the mainline series by a country mile.

You dont really get to explore or venture out because you're constantly tripping over another settlement of people with another fetch daily kind of quest, always coming across another series of buildings, always something, there is never a sense of actually exploring or discovering. It's kind of like being amazed you found a food stand inside an amusement park. And the world is too populated, yeah I get it's not long after the apocalypse but everything is too compact.

The game takes no chances and has no teeth. It's the safest, most generic, most sterile and inoffensive game to date and pretty much just mirrors the same things as before, only played way too safe.

They tried to force building in the game but aside from a couple quests you dont need to. It's pointless. I want to play fallout to survive, not build useless garbage that does nothing. It's also poorly designed and even doing something simple is a chore.

They cared so little about the design of the game they gave you power armor right at the start.

Fallout 4 is the worst in the series. But that's the great thing about games is there is something for everyone. Just because you like it doesn't mean I have to. You're allowed to like a shitty game if you want, its cool.

Anyone know how the digital games purchases work? Wondering if they email it to you right away and whatnot

Because I see they'll have a couple games I've wanted digital same price as physical

Honestly it can vary. I've had codes be sent immediately but normally its within 4 hours. Don't really know what the determining factor is.

Right, that’s why I said “long term” discount. It’s back up to $39.99 at Best Buy, if you missed the occasional drop. I know Breakpoint is supposed to be interior, but maybe will grow on us.

I plan on picking up several games. If you own a Switch and haven’t tried Starlink, I’d recommend picking it up for $10. Star Fox portions are well done.

Starlink really was a lot better than it got credit for. Since they're blowing it out at bargain price, it really is worth picking up.

I'm sure many companies wish Fallout 4 was the worst game in their franchise.

To me, FO4 is still a very good ARPG/shooter hybrid of some kind, but to me is not that great of a Fallout game. It improved immensely in the combat sector, as its shooting & combat felt greatly improved over their own FO3 and Obsidian's FO:NV; and the way you could improve/break-down equipment was very good (very ARPG-like, IMHO - like something you'd see in a Diablo-style ARPG, Hellgate London, TQ, or any of those type of ARPG-style titles) - but they forgot the Fallout decision-making that made many of the previous FO games great [i.e. you often get different choices of shades of good, bad, neutral, gray, and/or a very special choice(s) specific to that quest].

Regardless, I can still appreciate the combat improvements in FO4, as I felt it was more Id-like in style - even though w/ still too many RPG stuff going on and w/ the aging engine here, it still wasn't spectacular when compared to something that like an Id shooter.

Though, I do think Far Harbor put back in a lot of the Fallout decision-making that I was really looking for FO4, just in that DLC alone.

For the most part, to me, many of the main FO titles have been good-to-great; often ranging in the great section, IMHO - i.e. Fallout 1, FO2, FO3, and FO:NV. Only one that I wasn't fond of, was FO76 - which felt very "meh" to me on its free weekend. Really hurt, BethSoft pulling one of the crucial elements to their games: NPC's and real questing. I'm hoping Wastelanders content update fixes that, but....yeah, I'm not getting my hopes up that much, given how "meh" FO76 was.

EDIT:

i think Fallout 3 is shit and you are blinded by nostalgia, but as you said you are allowed to like a shitty game if you want, it's cool
I think Fallout 3 did the decision-making thing, which the Fallout franchise is generally known for (i.e. go see its previous titles from Black Isle Studios - which would be FO1, FO2), surprisingly well for a Bethesda-style RPG.

Quick side note: Of course, FO:NV blew that away on the decision-making factor - as numerous Black Isle dev's were at Obsidian; and that game in particular also put back in a lot of the dark, twisted, and sarcastic FO humor that previous Black Isle-developed FO's were known for.

While FO3's combat was decent for its time for a RPG, since RPG's generally didn't have the best of combat back in those days, especially compared to more modern titles - i.e. namely since Mass Effect 2 showed really how to improve & streamline shooter mechanics in RPG/shooter hybrid game, since ME series became more of a shooter/RPG from ME2 and on. I also think the way FO3 did VATS really helped keep many players from using a lot of real-time shooting elements b/c it gave the game a pseudo-style turn-based combat system & a pin-pointing at body parts system, which was big nod to previous FO titles from Black Isle (i.e. Fallout 1 and 2).

Amazon will likely match these right?

My friend just got his first ever PS4 recently and he doesn't make a lot of money so he wanted to grab some of these $10 games on Amazon.

I'm really confused as to when the online sales begin, both for regular sales and the early access MBB gets.

Anyone kind enough to clarify?
