Started playing NFS The Run. It's a really fun game. Can't really comment on the driving physics because I don't play driving games much. But so far, it's interesting. The loading time is a b*tch though, especially for sucky players like me. Everytime I fail, I have to wait for it to load again.

as for GoT, consensus is the story is superb and the main reason to play, not the combat. unfortunately i dont have the kind of time to play an rpg atm so only shmups and quick nfs:the run missions for now. my bb credit is safe.

GoT is a great game if you can overlook the mediocre combat. The characters, voice acting, and story though are 100% top notch. If you are a fan of the series, and especially the books, I wouldn't pass it up for $20. Starts slow but really picks up to the point where I didn't want to put it down after a couple hours.

Bought it at launch w/ the artbook from Amazon and no regrets. One of the few games that was worth the full price to me.

It was in a clearance bin at my BBY so YMMV. It was priced at $10 with a 75% off sticker. There were like 4 copies. This was in Greenfield, WI.

I'm not sure this will be a $5 bargain bin at any point in the near future. The franchise value is very strong, and only looks to continue being strong over the next couple of years. It's likely discounted now b/c BB ordered too many, expecting better marketing w/ the series' success and certainly not expecting a 53 metascore. I expect to profit from a quick play-through and eBay sale.

Would Fire and Ice be akin to any of those? From what I know of the show from what people have told me is that it is very..."adult" as well as more political based (wars over territory and land and such).

In my opinion, they're better than most of the other series I've read. However... that being said, Mr. Martin is starting to become quite annoying with the way he is writing (or rather not writing) the series. The first 3 books are amazing. The 4th and 5th books - they are technically one long book, just split up into 2 with different character POVs in each. And honestly they haven't lived up to the first 3. Lets hope with the success of the TV show that a fire can get lit up under him and make the 6th great (and not 10 years down the road either.) I still highly recommend them. And the tv series has been outstanding so far.
