▼ Read Me! FAQ ▼ Pre-Order $10 Program
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can I pre-order and purchase multiple copies of a
qualifying game and get multiple awards?
No. There is a limit of one (1) award per My Best Buy
member per game title.
What if I pre-ordered a qualifying game before I
saw this offer?
If you pre-ordered a qualifying game before seeing
this offer, you’ll still qualify for the offer as long as
your member ID is attached to the transaction.
When will I receive my $10 reward certificate?
For each qualified purchase, you will receive 500 My
Best Buy points (worth $10 in reward certificates)
credited to your account approximately 15–20 days
after street date or store pickup.
If I pre-order a game now using my GCU and the
game releases after my membership ends, will
I still get the 20% off discount?
- From BestBuy Support Forums (link):
For in-store pre-orders, I can definitively say that if
your GCU membership is expired when you
complete your pickup, you will not receive the 20%
discount. This is because in-store pre-orders are not
processed until the time of pickup, and we only
collect an up-front deposit.

Pre-orders made on BestBuy.com are not as cut and
dry as in-store, but it is possible to retain your GCU
discount on a title released after your membership
expires for these types of pre-orders. Reason being,
when you place your pre-order the GCU discount is
calculated up front, and we then pre-authorize the
discounted total with your bank. If all goes well, the
discount can be retained upon release, however,
there is no guarantee.

A sure way to lose the discount on BestBuy.com
pre-orders is if any modifications are made to the
order prior to release, but after your membership
has expired. These modifications could be updating
the billing address, changing the form of payment,
and others. This is because when a modification is
made it triggers another authorization on your form of
payment, which should recalculate the price if your
GCU membership is no longer active.

Could anyone clarify to me if the $10 coupon I will be receiving from trading is NOT what the bestbuy refers to as $10 reward certificate. So in other words, I'm getting $20 off if I preorder the game?

Heres something if you plan on buying Battlefield V, $10 coupon by trading in some games.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/clp/battlefield-v-tradein-iso/pcmcat1539010956417.c?id=pcmcat1539010956417

In store only: $10 coupon toward Battlefield V plus trade-in value.
Trade in any PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version of select first-person shooter games, including games from the Alien: Isolation, Battleborn, Battlefield, Bioshock, Borderlands, Bravo Team, Bulletstorm, Call of Duty, Dead Island, Destiny, The Division, Doom, Dying Light, Evolve, Fallout, Far Cry, Farpoint, Firewall, Fortnite, Gears of War, Ghost Recon, Grand Theft Auto, Halo, Killzone, Mass Effect, Metal Gear, Overwatch, Prey, PUBG, Rainbow Six, Resident Evil, Star Wars: Battlefront, Titanfall, and Wolfenstein series, and receive a $10 coupon to use toward Battlefield V, plus the trade-in value of your game.
WOW! This needs a thread of its own! I would have missed out if i wasn't bored at working just reading through the threads. Thanks!

It looks to be the same at Madden discount, you get a $10 off coupon to use when you make your purchase, so you could get the $10 cert and $10 off, PLUS 20% off if you still have GCU. I think this is the last GCU game i can get before mine expires ;-(

Sounds like that is one way to get rid of that free copy of Destiny everyone was getting with their orders a few weeks ago.

Thank you!! Maybe you can make pre-orders on the games you want before your GCU expires. I believe someone reported a while back that if you pay for games as a preorder full price using GCU, then they are fixed at that price when the order is shipped or picked up even if your GCU expired by the time of the release.

This coupon is in store only and your GCU has to be active when you pickup a in store preorder since you only but down a deposit and not paid for like online.

Good call. I’m not sure if my GCU will be active at pickup time.

Sweet can dump destiny or evolve for this, glad I waited.

Traded Evolve for 0.76 cents, but did print out the $10 coupon for BFV, so this will be a great deal with preorder $10 and GCU, similar to the Madden deals.

Traded in Farpoint. Got the coupon, but I'm wondering if I should order BFV for instore pickup since I want it for PC, and for whatever reason, Best Buy rarely if ever keeps PC games in stock.

I wasn’t planning on getting BFV, but I have Battleborn and Destiny sitting around. So with GCU, is this $28 after 20% off, $10 coupon, and $10 cert for preorder?

Yeah plus tax, this is how the receipt came out for fifa 19, so $31.12 if I count the cert. Can go even deeper with 6% back in points with elite plus and the best buy visa and 2% cash back from a website. Picked up Forza Horizon 4 ultimate also with GCU and the coupon and that put me over $100 which that website offer 750 in points back for in-store cash back at BB. So went pretty deep lol

BFV will probably be $35-$40 somewhere on BF so if you're without GCU, might be best to hold off. I was planning to get it with GCU but I'm not sure I'll even have time to play it with RDR2 and Fallout 76 in the next two weeks. : \

I doubt it will be a substantial drop being release is 5 days before BF. If the is just buy the cheaper version and return to BB.

this is off topic but it needs to be asked. also PSA

2 years ago there was this promo that if you spend $100+, you can get a discount if you checkout through the VISA checkout. I did it with a couple of preorders but now that I checked (for RDR2) I see the promo is zeroed out and I will be charged full price (w/gcu). Has this happened to anyone elses preorders? and does anyone remember the discount it was suppose to take off for the $100+ threshhold. I want to talk to customer service with that info

It took 25 off your order if you spent 100 or more. (Each game got a 12.00 discount assuming you ordered 2 games and a $5 filler) I've had a few issues with this promo as well. If the payment option gets changed, you lose it. It was very difficult to get them to honor the discount. Chat and calling were no help. The forums were the only way I was able to get it back.

And yes, I'm going to have to do the same thing for red dead as well. Not looking forward to it.

I had to call BB because the card I used on the visa promotion expired. The website wouldn’t let me update it and the live chat was useless. 25 minutes later on the phone they were able to change my payment info. So don’t be afraid to call if they’re messing around with your visa checkout order.

How did you manage to update your payment? Customer service is giving me a hard time updating my payment. Because the cc I used 2 years ago is expired.

My order still hasn't shipped. I'll just pick a copy up from Target tonight at 9 and then return the one from BB whenever they decide to ship it out.

Has anyone's order for RDR2 shipped or changed to preparing to ship yet? Mine is still saying pre-ordered.
Mine shipped yesterday. Strangely enough, the credit card I had used which was closed due to fraudulent charges still shows as the card on record. I'm assuming it gets charged to the replacement card instead?

I signed up for UPS my choice after not receiving an email Thursday before COD release. Then I received the tracking from UPS within an hour for Friday delivery.

Best Buy didn’t send their email until 2am and it said package was delayed....yet it was delivered around noon.

Does anyone know if you can get multiple $10 certificates for preordering the same game. If I were to preorder 2 copies of Fallout 76 would i get just one $10 certificate or 2

For those who follow this more closely: What are the chances of Rage 2 being added to this list once it finally gets a firm release date?
Rage 2 is a Bethesda published game. Past titles from Bethesda that were added to the list include Fallout 4, Doom and Fallout 76. It would seem likely Rage 2 will be added too.

Follow up question: if I go ahead and will they add the $10 gc to my order at the later date the game is added to this list?

Follow up question: if I go ahead and will they add the $10 gc to my order at the later date the game is added to this list?
Yes. This is exactly what happened to Kingdom Hearts; it was available for preorder long before it was added to the Get 10 list, but it will still qualify for the $10 cert regardless of when the preorder was placed..

Though, for the games on the $10 Rewards list, nothing is added to your order; you just get the points dumped into your account X days after you pick up/receive the game.

So battlefield V has 10 dollar cert and if you trade in certain shooters like destiny 2 you get a 10 dollar coupon towards it

How do you preorder a game and then pick it up without having paid in full? Trying to figure out if with GCU I can buy for 37 and get 10 back which would be better than any deal for sure

Have to go in store and just put $5 down, did it yesterday, this is a great deal just like they did with Madden for 3 years now.

Does anyone know if you can get the Battlefield V Steelbook with an instore preorder or is it online only?

Tried asking on the best buy forums but the reps keep ignoring that question, probably because they don't know.

I can't remember a new release that came with a bonus steelbook that wasn't also available in stores.

I just remember when I preordered Uncharted 4 in store and they didn't give me the preorder coin replica, and the store rep said that it was only for online orders.

I do know that sometimes they have the steelbook already available in store when you preorder you just take on, at least that's how it used to be. Has anyone seen them or preordered in store and picked one up?
