▼ Read Me! FAQ ▼ Pre-Order $10 Program
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can I pre-order and purchase multiple copies of a
qualifying game and get multiple awards?
No. There is a limit of one (1) award per My Best Buy
member per game title.
What if I pre-ordered a qualifying game before I
saw this offer?
If you pre-ordered a qualifying game before seeing
this offer, you’ll still qualify for the offer as long as
your member ID is attached to the transaction.
When will I receive my $10 reward certificate?
For each qualified purchase, you will receive 500 My
Best Buy points (worth $10 in reward certificates)
credited to your account approximately 15–20 days
after street date or store pickup.
If I pre-order a game now using my GCU and the
game releases after my membership ends, will
I still get the 20% off discount?
- From BestBuy Support Forums (link):
For in-store pre-orders, I can definitively say that if
your GCU membership is expired when you
complete your pickup, you will not receive the 20%
discount. This is because in-store pre-orders are not
processed until the time of pickup, and we only
collect an up-front deposit.

Pre-orders made on BestBuy.com are not as cut and
dry as in-store, but it is possible to retain your GCU
discount on a title released after your membership
expires for these types of pre-orders. Reason being,
when you place your pre-order the GCU discount is
calculated up front, and we then pre-authorize the
discounted total with your bank. If all goes well, the
discount can be retained upon release, however,
there is no guarantee.

A sure way to lose the discount on BestBuy.com
pre-orders is if any modifications are made to the
order prior to release, but after your membership
has expired. These modifications could be updating
the billing address, changing the form of payment,
and others. This is because when a modification is
made it triggers another authorization on your form of
payment, which should recalculate the price if your
GCU membership is no longer active.

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee New n Tasty Limited Edition - $34.99 (with free $10 egiftcard)

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/oddworld-abes-oddysee-new-n-tasty-limited-edition-nintendo-switch/6428947.p?skuId=6428947

Mine already shipped.
Awesome, thanks for the post!

Ordered a copy on Amazon but it was $45 with shipping (guessing it wasn’t sold through Amazon can’t remember) but was able to cancel and order this. For me it’s like a $20 swing as I know I’ll use that gift certificate.

The double 500 point bonus has happened again. I got 1,000 bonus points for watch dogs legion. So glad I didn't cancel.[attachment=34813:20201027_232403.jpg]

I guarantee this game will be $30 at some point before Jan. So you'll be able to get a price adjustment because of their holiday policy. Same with Cod.

I also got the double rewards certificates on Watch dogs legion, wondering if this is a new trend on preordering games

Damn, hope that happens for Valhalla. I'm actually surprised Watch Dogs is still around; first game was boring AF and nothing I've seen has changed that perception heh.

Im getting Cyberpunk from Amazon since it's just 49.99 but id love to get it from Best Buy and get that Steelbook...is there a way to get Best Buy to price match on their online store?

You can chat with them or call them after you make the order and ask them to price match the Amazon listing

I chatted with them a few weeks ago about price matching it and my representative said they don’t price match on pre-orders. So hopefully Amazon keeps it at 49.99 so when it comes out, you can get it adjusted

Just spoke with a Representative and they refunded me the difference, told them I saw it for $49.99 on Target and they checked and did it, also got my points for AC Valhalla, just getting the 500 points, no double 500 on Valhalla

I sitll haven't received my points for avengers, what should I do? They have an open case already, but it's been almost a month and they never fixed it

So contact them and ask them about the open case and about the points, common sense
If you scrolled back, I was actually asking if there was a phone number where their CS is better than usual. By usual I mean people who doesnt seem to know a thing about BB policies, rewards, etc. Usually I only get foreigners too, so sometimes not knowing fully the language + not knowing BB rules makes a really messy combo

Send a message to one of the reps on the help forum. They can get the problem solved a lot faster.

Then go to the Best buy gamers club forum and get help from the mods there who work for Best Buy and can help as I had the same problems and they fixed it with no hassle, You can search for the forum on google, it's their official forum.

I don't think it had the $10 bonus, but for Cyberpunk 2077, with two separate items for the game and steelbook, if I cancel the game, do you imagine I could still get just the steelbook?

I did that with NBA 2k21 and I got to keep the case free. It was weird since even the envelope they delivered it in said cancelled. I guess it was for having to wait 2 extra days to pick up my 11/22/20 PS5 pre-order. LOL!

You cancelled the game and got the steelbook free? That’s crazy

I called and was able to get Assassin Creed Valhalla $10 reward added to my account. Rep said there was an late error sku addition for the PS5 versions of Call of Duty and that would be added shortly for all members who are in the same situation.

I did ask why my Watch Dogs PS5 $10 rewards doesn't show and he said it will pop up after the allotted time has passed. I'll keep an eye out on that one.

Never had an issue with XBOX One or PS4 games and $10 rewards so far just PS5 games.

Wow I might just do that if I want a steelbook so bad. I just thought they’d always adjust the charge amount on my card if one item from a bundle is cancelled
It said the whole bundle was being cancelled when I selected it but they still delivered it to me for free. I had the same thing happen with Mass Effect Andomeda but I think I just returned that game and kept the steelbook for it.

My husband was able to pick up Cyberpunk early (but not the steelbook for some reason) and I just got an email from Best Buy saying I have $20 in rewards credit, so I'm assuming we got double rewards for the game. So, I hope everyone else gets $20, too!

Nice, I checked and I got double reward as well.

Nice, I actually got a $25 certificate (from the double rewards and some existing points already on my account, plus the base points were 249). Actually my total points for this one item (the CE) was 1249.

Not me. I see 1000 points ($20 worth) attached to my Cyberpunk standard copy preorder which shipped out earlier today.
I still haven’t received my watch dog bonus as well for $10 rewards.

They will give us 500 points instead of a certificate?

+1 $20 for Cyberpunk. Looking at the details in Rewards History, Cyberpunk has two lines of "$10 Certificate with Cyberpunk 2077 Pre-order".
