Can I pre-order and purchase multiple copies of a
qualifying game and get multiple awards?
No. There is a limit of one (1) award per My Best Buy
member per game title.
What if I pre-ordered a qualifying game before I
saw this offer?
If you pre-ordered a qualifying game before seeing
this offer, you’ll still qualify for the offer as long as
your member ID is attached to the transaction.
When will I receive my $10 reward certificate?
For each qualified purchase, you will receive 500 My
Best Buy points (worth $10 in reward certificates)
credited to your account approximately 15–20 days
after street date or store pickup.
If I pre-order a game now using my GCU and the
game releases after my membership ends, will
I still get the 20% off discount?

For in-store pre-orders, I can definitively say that if
your GCU membership is expired when you
complete your pickup, you will not receive the 20%
discount. This is because in-store pre-orders are not
processed until the time of pickup, and we only
collect an up-front deposit.

Pre-orders made on BestBuy.com are not as cut and
dry as in-store, but it is possible to retain your GCU
discount on a title released after your membership
expires for these types of pre-orders. Reason being,
when you place your pre-order the GCU discount is
calculated up front, and we then pre-authorize the
discounted total with your bank. If all goes well, the
discount can be retained upon release, however,
there is no guarantee.

A sure way to lose the discount on BestBuy.com
pre-orders is if any modifications are made to the
order prior to release, but after your membership
has expired. These modifications could be updating
the billing address, changing the form of payment,
and others. This is because when a modification is
made it triggers another authorization on your form of
payment, which should recalculate the price if your
GCU membership is no longer active.

Got a message from one of the forum admins and the 500 points is on my account now. 

Weird situation, but at least it got resolved. 

 
Has anyone ever had it where their account says they have a certificate but when you look into your certificates it says you don’t have any?

If I click on the app and click on the arrow below my account it says I have $15 in certificates and when I click on my profile there are no certificates and it’s been like this for like 4 months lol.

Not sure if it’s a glitch and I already used the certificates or I’m supposed to have $15 in certificates coming to me.
 
Looks like they updated that thread posted above with the following:

"One more update! We’ve received word from our internal support teams regarding these bonus $10 in rewards, and it sounds like the PS5 version of Watch Dogs: Legion should be the only version still impacted at this time. I understand we’ll be implementing a fix for all impacted orders soon, so we’ll no longer need you to send us your private information going forward."

I just messaged one of them with the info they need: name, phone, email and order number. Let’s see if they’ll reply. I’ve done this numerous times long time ago when I still had gcu
 
Sucks... I buyed the PS5 Watchdog and still didnt get reward or response. Ill try contact them again in a few day if I dont get it by then...
 
I didnt see a better place to post this but thought it was relevant and wanted to share.  The wife ordered cyberpunk from BB's website for son's xmas and the game arrived a few days ago.  He doesnt want it anymore because of the issues so she went to return it tonight before things get crazy next week.  The store wouldnt return the sealed game tonight, without discounting it, because the wife was not returning the steelbook with it.  Neither of us knew there was a steelbook.  It did not arrive with the game and when she got home and looked it was still in-transit in another state.  We're hoping the steelbook doesnt get lost or delayed too long with all this craziness.  just wanted to share FYI.

Also while researching, went to BB forums and saw this.  Didnt read all the details because our copy is still sealed but may help someone.

Hmmm, if you had both items shipped then yeah; they're going to try and discount it. Probably should try another store to see if it's consistent or if you just got the BB defender team last night.

Same mod I message posted a public message saying we don’t need to pm them anymore as they are working on this issue. What I wanna know is if everyone who pre ordered it would have it automatically fixed
 
At this point I'll be pretty surprised if we get it. I'll probably try to return my copy next week if it doesn't show up on my account. I haven't opened it yet.
Same, they haven't answered my PM or done anything about it and I don't need another Ubisoft open world game that will sit in my backlog for $29. I would have done it for $19 and it will be that price sooner than later so I'll just send it back sometime after Christmas.

Yeah exactly, it's already $30 digitally on PSN for their holiday sale, so not feeling like I need to keep this unless the $10 comes through.

Back to the Watch Dogs 2 saga....so I chatted with Customer Support today for 30 or so minutes, was transferred two times to a different rep and in the end they had no idea how to help me.  After about 20 minutes the final rep tried to tell me that the $10 cert I got for cyberpunk was the one for Watch Dogs and after I explained that it wasn't we went around in circles again to no avail. 

The chat ended with them saying I have two accounts with Best Buy, (I do, one is from years ago and doesn't get used) and the rep telling me the points must be in the other account, which they clearly aren't and also I didn't buy the game on that account so I think they were just trying to get rid of me at that point.  I think its time to get the return ready

 
I am getting the run-around on my $10 from ps5 watch dogs as well. They said it's only for ps4 and I said I have a screenshot saying you're wrong lol but alas they don't accept screenshots lol. Still on hold.
 
Edit: called phone support after chat said they did not have authority to add points - what a waste of time - and within idk maybe 2 mins of calling, they answered and added $10 reward to my account -- that was fast. First time I've ever been an elite member. Maybe that helps with time to answer phone (like a phone call Flash Pass?), not sure. But worked out in the end for me, hope others get this issue resolved for them as well.

thank you...The agent said it needs to take 10 business days for them to investigate and they said ps5 watch dog is not quallified for pre order bonus. it is so weird.....I am an Elite plus member but it seems it will not help.

 
Seems it matters who you talk to. My guy didn't investigate for more than 15 seconds on the phone. So fast. I've had slower experiences in the past. But when text chatting before the phone call, I sort of demanded they notate my account they owe me a $10 reward so I didn't have to explain my situation again when they asked me to call after the long chat. Maybe it was notated so when I called he referred to the other agent's notes. I also repeatedly told them in chat I have screenshot proof ps5 had the $10 reward eligible too. (And I did have proof.)

can you send me that screenshot? I forget to screenshot when I placed the order.

 
I honestly think they are just waiting until our holiday return period is over and then it will be tough luck. I think I might just return it tomorrow or the next day.

I don't even trust pre ordering next gen games with a reward at Best Buy right now.  The current gen pre order rewards seem to be working fine though. It's annoying having to call to get your points for all these titles.

 
They posted another update, not sure that I believe them but we’ll see:

“This should (hopefully) be my final update on the Watch Dogs: Legion bonus $10 in rewards offer! It sounds like the holidays and year-end activities pushed the rollout of these points back a bit further than we originally anticipated, but I’ve received word from our internal support teams regarding these points, and I understand they should be posting to all impacted orders soon.

As I’ve mentioned in my previous replies on this thread, you will not need to send us a private message with your order information, even if it’s to double check, or make sure we have your order number. Believe me, I completely understand wanting to make sure you’re not missing out on any perks for your pre-orders with us. Rest assured, we’re aware of the orders impacted at this time, and expect the points to be posted to your accounts soon. “

I logged in to my Best Buy account to find 500 points added to my rewards balance, so it seems the Watch Dogs Legion issue is resolved. If you're waiting on the same points, log in to see if they're there.

I got points a couple of weeks ago when I pushed the issue with a rep over the phone and I got points again today.
